“I am using this book to learn the trumpet basics, having already got a solid foundation in music (Grade 8+ standard on piano). The book is split into a series of "stages" where each stage introduces some new notes, theory concepts, etc. For me, it seems to work - I have progressed quite quickly and I can see how the various exercises and tunes are structured in order to specifically exercise the concepts introduced at each stage. I am also enjoying going back through the early exercises in order to start to develop the quality of my sound. It also appears to be well structured for a complete beginner with no prior musical knowledge. Music theory is introduced little by little - just enough to get on with each section.”
