“All the furniture is very stylish and looks terrific, comfortable to sit on and actually really quite perfect when new. My only complaint is that the quality seems to be a bit variable and I sense the Chinese manufacturers may be cutting corners and have poor quality control without Lazy Susan UK being aware. Why do I say this? Well these items are made of cast aluminium alloy and the only thing that stops this corroding VERY quickly if you live anywhere near the coast is the white paint coating. This paint does not adhere well to razor sharp edges which are common when casting aluminium. These sharp bits need cleaning off before painting otherwise the paint doesn't cover well. Water with a bit of salt gets in under the paint and rapidly corrodes the metal, spreading at high speed causing blistering and allowing even more water in. So, out of three chairs, one table and a bench, the chairs and table had numerous sharp edges, the paint didn't protect the aluminium and severe corrosion after just a year was the result. Clearly there is extreme variability in the product, some are fine, others not. Items where the sharp bits have been cleaned off and a good thick paint coat applied are 100% but when I cleaned and brought my set indoors for the winter, trying to touch up the paint was a joke with probably 25% of the surface severely corroded under the paint and beyond recovery after just 15 months. Lazy Susan were super with follow up support and sent me a new chair but as I live near the sea, I have added another preventive paint coat on all my items. I like them too much and as a pensioner, I cannot afford to lose them.”
“I have nothing but praise for Lazy Susan. In 2021 I bought a 6-seater table, 4 chairs, a parasol base and a parasol. When it arrived, the parasol base had a couple of small rust spots and without query Lazy Susan sent a second one free of charge, allowing me to keep the original. I am really pleased with the table and chairs, which stay out on the deck all year round and just need a wipe down in the spring. This summer I decided to use the second parasol base for a place further down the garden, but it needed the metal cylinder that the pole fits in. I enquired how much this would cost, and they sent me one for free! I was so pleased with this excellent service that I decided to buy a second, smaller table. The staff are always really helpful on the phone and the quality of the products is excellent.”
