“I was expecting creamy vanilla notes infused with subtle oak, smoke and peat.
Instead, both on the nose and palate it was very metallic, and on the palate tasted of an unbalanced mix of grappa/TCP/iodine. Not very pleasant at all. The cork didn't really 'pop' either when opening just slid out aplogetically.
There was none of the vanilla notes I was expecting and whilst some smoke, no discernible peat. Overall very disappointing - the first 'bad' purchase of over 30 bottles (mostly peated Islay's) over the last 4 months from numerous Distributors.
A big shame and it's dented my confidence now to continue experimemting. Will no return to tried & tested bottles ( Ledaig 10yo, Port Charlotte 10yo etc....)”
