“I did the ten-day carpentry course and it was fun and useful. The tutor, Lawrence, was very experienced and knowledgeable. Friendly and approachable, he gave clear demonstrations and explanations and put everyone at ease with a good sense of humour. I learned several useful skills that I can use around the house and elsewhere, for example building a stud wall, hanging a door and fitting door furniture. I also got plenty of practice making various kinds of cuts and joints. The centre as a whole comes across as very well organized, allowing students to get the most of the time available. I highly recommend YTA.”

“I did the kitchen fitting course with YTA Training. It was a 1-to-1 course so the trainer Lawrence was able to give me a lot of his time and a lot of pointers. I felt that I was really able to benefit from his many years as a builder as he taught me to a really high standard. It wasn't about just knocking a kitchen up but getting it perfect as if I were doing it for a client. He also allowed me to go at my own pace meaning that I was able to finish slightly earlier on Friday rather than just trying to fill out the time. I really appreciated this as I am not a local and had come up from London for the course so it meant that I could head home earlier if I wanted to.”

“Recently did the 3 day tiling course with Garry and it was brilliant. Going into the course I'd never picked up a trowel before, now I feel confident tiling a bathroom. It's a very welcoming environment where their main aim is to give you practical experience, not waste time learning the theory behind everything. Garry took the time to explain everything to us, but also let us learn by making mistakes. Having been a plumber for 30+ years, he was able to give some hints and tips that I can take forward and use in my job. I'll almost definitely be going back at some point to learn more complicated tiling, might even sign up for the plastering course while I'm there.”

“I really enjoyed my plumbing intensive course at YTA. I was a little apprehensive as I was the only woman on the course but what a lovely group of students and instructors. I learned so much, ok I won’t be putting in a central heating system and probably would never work as a paid plumber, but I have the confidence to tackle jobs at home and for friends. I would recommend this course for anyone wanting to learn about plumbing and gain expertise from a very knowledgeable staff. The skills they give would be suitable for anyone wanting to start their own business or just have the extra string to your bow. Loved it. Thanks guys”

“A 5 day course that is totally hands on from the start gives a good basic coverage for a beginner, just about everything is covered that you need to know to do a basic job from mixing different types & consistencies of plaster, boarding & skimming, applying bonding & multi finish & fixing corner bead to square up a bad edge, Dave was an extremely knowledgeable instructor even covering advice for material disposal after jobs/projects are finished.”

“I just finished the 10 day plumbing course, I learned so much over the 10 days, which I have now gained the confidence to plum In new or existing bathroom suites and carry out other various plumbing jobs. Paul our instructor was great and extremely knowledgeable. All the other instructors were friendly and always offered advice when I asked various questions. I would highly recommend attending the courses.”

“I attended the plumbing course 5 day. I came away with skills of how to fix my central heating, plumb in the first and second fix for my kitchen and bathroom. I would highly recommend this course for any one who is trying to get some experience and is going their own property development. “Very remiss of me to write this review, a little later than I had hoped. We had Paul, for the week one plumbing course, at the end of May 2021. What can I say, his jokes were quite appauling and his sense of humour even worse.................. And as for his knowledge.................. Well the course was first class and the content was pretty well perfect. We focused on fundamental practical issues from the very first minute. I hadn't a scooby about plumbing when I arrived at the centre, but went away feeling confident that I could attempt most aspects of rudimentary plumbing assignments. Big congratulations to Paul for giving us all a superb week. Heartedly recommended to all budding plumbers! GG”

“I just finished the 10 day intensive tiling course. I found it excellent way to learn tiling your put at it straight away practical all the way. Gary the instructor has 38 years experience with all there is to know about tiling and keeps the jobs coming. You have to be willing to put in the work if you are to succeed in learning at this course.”
