Thanks Tracey! That's some great feedback, especially about the communication aspect - It's absolutely vital for our tutors to be good at getting across the ideas. Thanks again for the great review :)

I have learnt a lot about not just playing guitar but also the theory behind it; I also think the lessons are very thorough and are filled with lots of different things to learn.

Thanks Mandy! Yes it's important to combine all elements on the guitar as you learn as it makes you a more complete guitarist. Thank you again for the great review :)

I am enjoying a lot with the guitar, each day I feel more comfortable playing, the teacher Karol have a wide music knowledge and the skills to teach, he is patient and make the lessons easy to follow, and at the same time he know how to push you each day a little further in the practice.

Thanks Pedro! Karol has mentioned how well you are getting on, and that comes down to how well you are practicing as well as Karol's fantastic tuition. Keep up the practice and Karol will guide you to reach your goals in no time!

Jose is a fantastic tutor, really patient and breaks everything down into easy manageable chunks. Can't believe the progress I've made in just 10 weeks and its all down to Jose's encouragement. Looking forwards to the next 10 weeks!

Been practicing with my tutor for a few months now. He is pretty awesome. He takes his time to help me learn at my own pace, whilst each week challenging me. He lets me choose the music I want to learn, but at the same time has introduced me to blues, which I now love. I look forward to each weeks session!!! Thank you for being so patient!!! Charlene

Simone is a great tutor. He's always calm and patient and keeps me motivated. Even if i don't have too much time to practice outside class, he gives me helpfull instructions on how to make my learning easier and the things i need to insist on. The system is also very helpful, as i have all the notes Simone is sending me saved in my account and i can always come back to any of it. The great thing is that Your Guitar Academy is opened to suggestions and is constantly improving.

Thanks Adela! It's excellent that Simone gives you practicing tips based around your busy schedule :) We of course have a lot of students who are busy and can only squeeze in guitar practice at certain times, but it's not a sprint, it's a marathon and little by little you will definitely get there! Keep having fun!

I've just completed the free beginners course and was really impressed, Dan is great teacher that has clearly been experimenting for years about how to teach students how to progress at the best rate and preventing or getting rid of bad habits. I love the way that he gets you practising different areas of the guitar (base lines, power chords, strumming etc) at the same time, which means you are confident to play entire songs (that actually sound alright) right from the beginning and the whole time you are improving in all areas. The format is great- everything is there at your finger tips- interactive tabs, chord diagrams, backing tracks etc and the course structure is really well organised you don't have to think about what you should concentrate on next you just move onto the next lesson. I've just signed up for the yearly subscription as its a great deal and i'll know this will motivate me to practise even more.

Thanks Nina! Yes we always believe that the best practice is to layer up your learning with a variety of techniques so that you improve in all areas, rather than getting bogged down with one thing! Thank you as well for signing up for the years subscription, this is a really exciting time for us as we have so much more content being prepared for the area!

Simone is the epitome of a fantastic guitar tutor. He is friendly, encouraging and professional. In my taster lesson he listened to what I wanted to achieve and has been helping me on that journey tirelessly since. He is so patient, I don't know how he does it! What's more he's fun - when we're working on something together he's not shy to put something new in and push me with some more advance skills. I always leave my lesson rewarded and excited about the next weeks! The guitar academy material online is in-depth, useful and a great way to track my progress. I can dip in and out when I want, with some fantastic references points and work sheets. I'm looking forward to developing and continuing to use the service.

Simone is a great teacher ! I've learnt so much more from him in the last few of months than I have in the last couple years. I'm finally beginning to understand the guitar. My timing and has improved immensely making what I play sound much much better. He has provided me with the confidence to achieve things on the guitar didn't think I could manage especially improvising on the guitar. Friendly, fun lessons and is willing to answer any questions outside of the lesson which is a great help when practising. You leave the lesson wanting to get back home as soon as possible to practise. The academy website makes accessing all lesson notes extremely convenient and their online lessons are an awesome way to learn more outside of the private lessons, with different styles play of which makes learning new sounds enjoyable and easy. Great job guys really ! Thanks !!! VM

Great teacher. Website needs a bit of work on being able to find lessons more easily and pull up both soundtrack and notes at the same time. Cheers!

Tom Thistleton is a great instructor. In spite of the substantial age gap (me being older), he totally relates to the music that interests me and always tailors my lessons to make them as enjoyable as possible. He is encouraging, patient and helpful & I have no hesitation in recommending both guitar academy & my tutor.

Simone is cooler than all who pass before him, but he's too cool to acknowledge it, even to himself. His instructions are crystal clear and perfectly methodical. Instead of 'things you need to know,' he teaches patterns--almost in a mathematical way, if that makes sense--while also instilling a sense of soul. He's patient yet on task. Certain yet open. Professional yet playful. He's the guy we like to think we all are, but he actually is. My wife and I can't wait for our joint lesson with him tomorrow.

Been taking YGa’s pro courses online for a couple of months now, and I’ve really been enjoying them. Everything’s presented really clearly and the tutor in the videos does a great job of explaining everything. Really love picking up my guitar every day now, would recommend these courses to anyone especially beginners like me!

I’ve been taking classes with Olly for some 18 months now and they’ve proved hugely beneficial. I’d had weekly lessons with other teachers for a couple of years in the past, but the classes with Olly really are at quite a different level. Olly’s background as formally-trained music graduate means that he has a thorough knowledge of the theoretical and academic dimensions of music. That’s matched by great practical know-how as he’s also an active music professional regularly performing and recording across the UK. That really makes a difference, meaning that Olly brings a formidable level of expertise to his classes which really benefits the student. What’s been especially noteworthy is Olly’s capacity to adapt the curriculum and style of delivery to meet the student’s needs. In my case, that meant addressing some really deep seated problems with technique. Olly’s response has been to use an almost forensic analysis of the movements used in fretting and picking to identify and remove barriers to faster and more accurate playing. That’s been complemented by a very holistic approach to the whole philosophy of study and practice that has really helped. We’ve used engaging and challenging material by artists like Steve Vai and Paul Gilbert as study pieces and that’s made the whole process enormously rewarding and enjoyable for me. Olly’s complemented the face-to-face classes with great homework packages including books, videos, and other material that makes for a balanced and well-rounded approach to learning. I think it’ll still take quite a while yet to get to the level I’d really like to be at, but with Olly’s approach there’s now a real sense that the material I want to play is finally coming within reach. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loving my guitar lessons with Dan (Brighton YGA). I've had about 15 lessons so far and am already starting to notice lots of progress (from complete beginner). The lessons are well structured and the online dashboard for your lessons works perfectly for me, meaning I can re-visit previous lessons at any point. He's constantly encouraging me and is incredibly patient. I chose to have lessons from home and this fits perfectly for me around Uni/work. I'm glad I decided to take lessons, worth every penny.
