About Stringers Music:

Stringers of Edinburgh is one of Scotland’s longest established and most respected musical instrument dealers. We supply violins, violas, cellos and bows of all levels and offer the highest standard in repair and restoration. Stringers London opened in 2007 and over the past thirteen years has grown to become one of London's leading violin dealers. In both shops, all of our staff members are proficient string players, many are former or current teachers, and always happy to help and advise. All instruments are set up by our team of expert restorers in our on-site workshops and played and assessed by staff before going on sale.

“I cannot say enough good things about Stringers London. I was introduced to Stringers for violin rentals for my children-- knowledgeable, helpful, very professional. I then decided to upgrade my own violin, and looked to Stringers again. Henry and Ian were absolutely superb in helping be figure out a reasonable price range for my level of playing, how to think about choosing a new instrument, and then helped with the entire outfit. I am so grateful to them for their kind attention and impressive knowledge.”

“I came in to buy a violin case. The ideal case for my slightly longer than average violin was quickly identified by the knowledgable and helpful staff. I am confident that the case will give many years of service. I also wished to look for a new bow. I was shown upstairs and, having discussed an approximate budget, was left with about a dozen bows to try. I was given as long as I liked, and was able to play with each one, gradually choosing between them till I felt I had the right one. Overall it was a really good experience. The staff give good advice, but also time and space, and I appreciated that very much.”

“Very smooth service. Great range of products. Really like the personal touches of being told who in the branch has packed the order. Very much appreciate the additional measures of checking over, testing and tuning the instrument. Returner violinist after a regretful 13 year hiatus, however still believe the products received are of a high standard. “I’m the ‘Cellist on the west end production of “Hamilton “. My lovely old Forster suffered significant damage on the show (no fault of the show). The next day, through my MD and a mutual friend, I was put in touch with Stringers to investigate a replacement whilst mine was repaired. I needed a cello that very night. I don’t know if this is a service they regularly offer so I won’t comment on that but after one phone call with Ian they offered to hire me a very very fine French cello. The insurance documents were drawn up AND they delivered the cello Immediately to the theatre. It took only 3 hours. Not only were they keen to help but enthusiastically so. Supreme service with a smile! If you’re looking for quality instruments and silk smooth service I’ll drive you there personally and buy you a coffee to boot. Thanks Ian and Stringers of London. Best experience I’ve had with a violin shop. Superb!! Best. Chris”
