About Stringers Music:

Stringers of Edinburgh is one of Scotland’s longest established and most respected musical instrument dealers. We supply violins, violas, cellos and bows of all levels and offer the highest standard in repair and restoration. Stringers London opened in 2007 and over the past thirteen years has grown to become one of London's leading violin dealers. In both shops, all of our staff members are proficient string players, many are former or current teachers, and always happy to help and advise. All instruments are set up by our team of expert restorers in our on-site workshops and played and assessed by staff before going on sale.

“I bought a set of cello strings. These are higher end strings but they were substantially less money than anywhere else. Shipping to the US was not too expensive and was not too long a wait. They strings got to me maybe two days later than if I would have ordered them from the US suppliers. The packaging was perfect and I even got a personified note from Freya, the person who packed them. The care was apparent. Thank you so much!”

“I have recently started learning to play the cello and found out about Stringers through their website. I contacted them about visiting to buy my first cello. As I am a beginner I was looking for advice from a specialist who was able to demonstrate different instruments and bows to me. I made an appointment and explained that I was probably looking for a 7/8 sized instrument. When I arrived 4 cellos were tuned and ready for me to try. I was then left to play the instruments before the cello specialist returned and offered to play each instrument to me. I was then guided to select a bow and case in a similar fashion. Since purchasing my cello in January I have made further online purchases and would say that overall I am very happy with the service provided. I haven’t put a 5* rating as the loyalty scheme ‘Stringers rewards’ appears to have disappeared from the website. This was something that appealed to me and would certainly encourage me to use Stringers for all of my cello purchases.”

“I recently purchased the soloist violin kit from stringers. The overall experience was fantastic and I would recommend Stringers to anyone showing interest in the selected instruments. I had an idea of rough price yet was unsure if I wanted to hold off and take more time to save for something more expensive. They invited me to there studio and brought out a selection of violins in my price range plus higher for me to try. They left me in privacy to play them and try them all out which was great as I feel self conscious playing as an amateur. In such a stress free warm space I fell in love with the soloist violin. Each individual note across the entire instrument had so much more compared to the others in similar (and the more expensive) price range. A staff member then came in and offered to play my favorite from the selection to allow me to hear how they sounded. I left feeling as though I had got the best value for money and continue to be amazed whenever I hear the rich tones each time I play bringing a deeper joy to my playing. I required further support for my violin and so messaged stringers who responded the same day answering my query. 5 Stars across the board. Very impressed.”
