“We love our Wakendale from Shelved. It was ready and delivered quicker than expected and, whilst not a quick job to assemble, the instructional video helped greatly and the product quality made the assembly process quite satisfying. The only thing missing would be a bespoke page showing the product you’ve ordered to go with the more generic instructional sets. But once finished, everything is perfectly neat and flush and a huge step on from other “flat pack” furniture of a similar style. For product quality alone, this is worth every penny. We had a small issue with one item, which was replaced via post the very next day so the service matches the quality. This has transformed our room and feels built to last as well as looking fantastic. We highly recommend Shelved!”

“Fantastic product and great customer service.
I came across Shelved on an Instagram link and I haven't previously bought things for the house from Instagram so I had some reservations as it was a significant investment. The tool to create the designs takes a bit of getting used to but after a few minutes I got the hang of it. I created a bespoke design for the kitchen which was a wall unit roughly 4 metres wide and up to 2.2m high to hide a column and then choose a 2.4m sideboard and a full hieght unit from the pre-designed range and made a few modifications. It's pretty straightforward to assemble although I had 2 tradesman in to do it as I am not very good at that sort of thing. What I like is that it is really flexible - since all the boxes (70 from memory) arrived we have changed the design slightly from the original and the bits are interchangable. We had a hiccup with the delivery as the lorry struggled to get down our lane but I was impressed that this was sorted within 24 hours which was appreciated. When i emailed Shelved a chap called Jonathan replied immediately and has been on hand to answer questions - a great service and I'm really pleased with the quality of the product.”

“When I first came across Shelved when looking for the right shelving for my showroom, I initially passed them by based on price. The more I looked at what was available, the more I realised there was cheap and nasty (and not necessarily that cheap either), and ridiculously overpriced. Neither had the sizes and the flexibility I was looking for. Although it was more than I had wanted to spend, and after spending way too much time enjoying the easy to use configurator, I took the plunge, and I’m very pleased I did.
The instructions initially look a little complicated, but once you know what everything is for, it’s actually very easy - the second one I built went up in no time, with no need to revert back to the instructions. Once made up (mine was four vertical 800 wide units with cubbies and a cupboard in the bottom section), they’re assuringly weighty and rock solid.
They were great to deal with, and a U.K. manufacturer/supplier (something else that was rare amongst alternatives). Looking to order some more very soon.”

There was a delay with a small amount of the door furniture but Shelved kept us informed and had the items shipped as soon as they had them. “Designing a new unit can be difficult if you've never used it before, especially if you want try various configurations. However, once I got the hang of it, I quickly worked one out and had it ordered.
Delivery was quick, and once I'd got the hang of the instructions it went together well.Once put together the unit was rigid and well designed.
I'm a happy customer and glad I used them - but not something for some one who is mechanically inept!”

“I had spent time designing a shelving system for my lounge. I was feeling pleased with how it was looking online. It was going to be an expensive piece (over £3K) so I decided to buy the £10 materials sample set to check I was happy with the quality before spending that amount of money. I was glad I did. My purchase went no further. In my opinion the quality of the materials does not match the price tag. The quality would be fine/acceptable if the price was lower. Glad I only wasted £10 on materials samples.”
Hi Sarah, I'm sorry that you were disappointed with the materials received. We're very open and transparent about our materials on the website, so we are a little surprised this was the case. We do use an MFC panel material, rather than real wood, there are a number of reasons for this and managing the cost of our product is certainly one of them. Its also worth noting that the steel and connection system we use to construct our framework is vastly superior to other products on the market and is responsible for a large proportion of product cost.

“Shelved were great to deal with. Loved the design process and excellent customer service.
Only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is because there were just a couple of things to improve on. Firstly, the courier they used was really slow and I had to chase them. Secondly, the finishing touches on the cabinet I ordered are not perfect. The ends are exposed and on the white frame it’s noticeable, would have liked caps like they gave me to cover the screws. And some of the label stickers were tricky to get off (tearing and leaving residue) but you need them for the build, they are so helpful!!
They are very simple to build and the videos are great but, I would say not easy if you’re a novice with flat pack or have designed something particular difficult. After unboxing took a while to get my head around the build and did make a few mistakes along the way. But the finished product looks great and I’m really pleased.
I would recommend this company.”

I understand your frustrations with the logistics company, whilst out of our control to a degree I will pass on the comments and we will of course endeavour to do better, it is an area we are constantly looking at.
With regards to the end pins being exposed this is necessary for the system to work but I appreciate the black heads against the white frame do stand out a little. We have some exciting developments here so watch this space.
We are also in the process of improving the amount of information we can provide for bespoke and off the shelf builds with regards to assembly. Whilst its not of much use to you now it is something we're working on.

Hi Joseph, thanks for the feedback. We do make it clear on the website, both via images and descriptions, that the panels in our product are manufactured from 18mm melamine faced particle board with an ABS edge. Apologies if you have been given the wrong impression.

“Very nice product - far better quality than other flat-pack furniture, with a much more robust assembly mechanism. It is still flat-pack furniture, though, so it’s very expensive for what it is, but there’s very little else out there that looks this good while being completely customisable to your space. My only gripe is that the instructions could be better - having assembled it, I now understand how I *should* have assembled it, and it really isn’t difficult, it’s just not intuitively obvious and the instructions don’t cater for all the oddities of a unique design.”
