The kit was easy to adapt to my bicycle. It performs well. I am satisfied with the kit. There is one thing I need to improve on. When I purchased the electric kit, I taught the bike would work by electric power not only by pedaling but also by its own power. I found out from your company that I would have to purchase a throttle. I want to purchase such a throttle. Please advice me how. Normand llnol@juno.com also, I would like to add a photo of my bike. It is on my cell phone. I don't know how to do this. Can you help?

The kit works well with the bicycle and enhances the ride. A typical ride is 25km in distance with no issues running out of battery. Even if the battery ran out, it’s not heavy enough to hinder the ride.

A tad difficult to install (pedal mechanism). The power makes it easier to get up hills but the range is not as far as my NCM Milano. That said, the battery is lighter and easy to take with me if I am stopping to shop. I am in my mid 60's, so I enjoy the help while cycling my home city of many hills on a very comfortable bike with a "flat foot" frame. Although the cost to convert the bike (at 50% off) was almost what I paid for my Townie Electra originally in 2014, it was still $1k less than buying a new electric version of my cruiser.

I really enjoy riding my Swytch-powered Trek. It destroys trails and does a really awesome job on the road. It's quiet and smooth, and so unobtrusive. My kit is all dark-grey on a matt-navy bike, it just looks slick. The assembly is easy, though my kit needed slight mods to suit my forks.

Fitted the device no problem (you may need more than one pair on hands). However when I went to use it the motor does not work. I have followed the instructions to test the swytch kit and nothing works and the hub doesn't spin . I raised it with customer services who took 2 weeks to come back to me only to tell me to perform the tests again and tell them the outcome. I went through all this again went back to them, came back after a week just to tell me to fill in an online form. Very angry and sad as it isnt exactly cheap and I just have a bunch of scrap metal attached to my bike that doesn't work.

We were missing the pedal sensor from our Switch conversion bikes when we started on a bike ride a couple of weeks ago after hauling the bikes on the back of the camper to our nearby campground. We were still able to have a great time since we have the optional thumb throttles. When I contacted customer service with a description of the problem, they dispatched replacement parts the same day. Couldn't ask for better service than that.

Regards Berry  -------- Oorspronkelijk bericht -------- Van: "Kseniya (Swytch Bike)" Datum: 09-08-2023 16:13 (GMT+01:00) Aan: lambertus.gitaren@gmail.com Onderwerp: [Swytch Bike] Re: Battery Charge Indicator Light Kseniya (Swytch Bike) 9 Aug 2023, 3:13 pm BST Hello Berry    There are several reasons why the range of a Swytch kit may be lower than the quoted ranges, which are typically determined through testing under specific conditions. Some factors that can affect the actual range include:   The quoted ranges are often based on ideal conditions, such as flat terrain, moderate temperatures, and no headwinds. In real-world situations, riding uphill, facing strong winds, stopping and starting often, or encountering rough terrain can significantly reduce the range. The quoted ranges assume a certain level of pedalling effort from the rider. If you rely more on the motor and pedal less, the battery will deplete faster, reducing the overall range. The quoted ranges are usually determined with a specific weight in mind, often around 80kg. Carrying additional weight, such as luggage or accessories, or being heavier than the average rider can impact the battery's performance and reduce the range.Proper tire pressure is important for optimal efficiency. Under or over-inflated tires can increase rolling resistance, resulting in higher energy consumption and decreased range.Riding at higher speeds requires more power from the motor, which can lead to faster battery depletion and a reduced range compared to riding at a moderate pace.Over time, lithium-ion batteries can experience a decrease in their capacity, resulting in reduced range. If the battery is older or has been heavily used, it may not provide the same range as when it was new.Extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, can affect battery performance. Very low temperatures, in particular, can temporarily reduce the battery's capacity and limit the range.  It's important to keep in mind that the quoted ranges are meant to provide an estimate under specific conditions and may not perfectly match real-world usage. If you consistently experience a significantly lower range than expected, it may be due to an issue with the controller which can test for. please could you perform the following test:   1 - Disconnect the power pack from the bike. 2 - Spin the wheel backwards, taking particular note of any resistance or noise. 3 - Repeat this with the power pack connected to the bracket.   Let us know if you notice any excessive resistance/noise or any difference with the power pack connected to the bracket, please send a video of this test if you can.   I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions. Kind Regards, Kseniya | Customer Service Advisor | support@swytchbike.com Looking for more information? What a strange question.  I'm hoping you can propose me a real solution now. I'm starting to lose my patience if you keep asking, no use, questions and propose tests that I allready have done myself. Yes I read de troubleshooting on your website and tried several different settings. In my opinion the handlebar display is malfunctioning.  Maybe it is time to sent me another one so I can try and see if that's the problem.  Or any other part that can cause this particular problem. It took me almost 17 km. before the engine stopped. My settings. The power level at minimum and the power limit at 60%, I ride in Holland so flat level country. Whith these settings it should give me 30 km of pleasant ride, no? It is worth noting that the range estimates provided for the power are not a guarantee, and can be affected by many factors such as terrain and elevation throughout your ride. However, let's check everything is set up correctly first.   Start by performing the following tests.   1 - Disconnect the power pack from the bike.     2 - Spin the wheel backwards by hand, taking particular note of any resistance or noise.     3 - Repeat this with the power pack connected to the bracket.     Please let us know if you notice any excessive noise or resistance when spinning the wheel.    If there is no noise or resistance, then, using the correct guide below, please perform a factory reset of your kit, then reselect the correct wheel size and ensure the PAS direction is set to forward.   - Standard/Base Display Instructions (See p.43) - LED Display (turn off then on again) - OLED Display Instructions   Once you have completed these tests, please be sure to pump up your tires to the PSI indicated by the manufacturer and perform a test ride.   We look forward to hearing from you soon.   Have a great day! View our Frequently Asked Questions in our Help Centre lambertus.gitaren@gmail.com 7 Aug 2023, 3:44 pm BST Hello, thank you for the info. The battery should last for 30 km. And it's halfway, 2/3 lights, on the battery after 15 km. This seems correct to me. On the display however, it's empty and motor stops. That's after 15 km. while using the minimum setting for support. This is not cool.. I think maybe there's a software problem, like the system doesn't recognise the bigger battery I have.... Please find me a solution for this problem because the way it's performing now is not at all satisfying.  Regards Berry  -------- Oorspronkelijk bericht -------- Van: "Kseniya (Swytch Bike)" Datum: 07-08-2023 14:38 (GMT+01:00) Aan: lambertus.gitaren@gmail.com Onderwerp: [Swytch Bike] Re: Battery Charge Indicator Light Kseniya (Swytch Bike) 7 Aug 2023, 1:38 pm BST Hi there, thank you for contacting Swytch. The light on your battery is a good indicator of charge level when charging but should not be used to determine the level of charge during your rides. This is because the display will read the level of charge better.    The display and battery read battery power level by the amount of voltage which fluctuates when in use, so sometimes can decrease more under load and can also go back up when not under load. It is also possible that the first light decreases quickly due to the level of charge too, when the first bar may go down very quickly, it may be that it was only charged up very slightly over that bar.  The best way to get an idea of charge is to check your display battery level indicator when you stop at traffic lights or a junction, for example. This is when the voltage will normalise and show the most accurate level of charge.   I hope that makes sense. Please don't hesitate to get in touch should you require further information.   Have a great day! Then goes flashing and motor turns off. I continue peddaling then after a while motor turns back on. And so on.. And of course, I keep on peddaling all the time. [G2MVKP-NERP3]

Swytch Bikes gave me an excellent returns experience, hands down a good company that I would recommend to others. The short of the story was I didn't have time to setup the Swytch bike and then my bike had mechanical issues and when I asked to return Swytch was responsive, fast, and easy.

It works well! It was pretty easy to install and I enjoy riding with it. It feels like a help more than just carrying me along. For installation I ended up getting a more heavy duty front tire at the advice of the bike shop I got a new tire from. Only issue I had was I got both the controller and the hand switch and they didn't fit well on my large diameter handle bars, so my handlebars are a bit crowded and the gear shift is not placed right. I need to fix that. Overall, I'm quite happy with it and recommend it.

Conversion kit worked well. The down tube was a little bit too thick to fit the pedal sensor with the provided adhesive so I used zipties instead. I also had to file down the motor wheel axles to fit inside of the fork.

Installation was easy apart from the controller which didn't fit on the handlebars properly at first. Eveything else was fine. Even at the lowest power level the assistance is very noticeable and the bike rolls along very easily. The extra weight is not at all evident, it all feels like it used to, just easier to cycle.

Not owning a car - but enjoying travel and cycling I opted to convert a slightly customized, but well used 20 inch folding bike with a Swytch kit. This bike travels well on local/regional bus racks and goes with me where ever I go. the standard kit installed easily (I did need a short additional extension cable to keep the axle notch pointing down) but all elements from the wheel to controller/battery clamp and the optional throttle I ordered installed without a hitch. I normally tour with this small bike (adding some paniers and a small trunk bag) and my tent/sleeping pad etc. While not a powerhouse for big hills when loaded the pedal assist makes trips a real pleasure. The quick connecting and rubberized battery does fit into my cargo pants or packback making the bike secure for travel or when grabbing a snack at tour stop. Overall a great option for my needs. The sensor and set-up offer a nice sooth boost that is gentle and easy to control and a pleasure to ride with. I would have given 5 stars - and would not hesitate to recommend the Swytch kit - only noting that the delivery process was simply confused... arriving 4 months after an email said the kit was ready to go (would miss Christmas but arrive within 30 days). This led to 3 months of polite email exchanges. If the delivery process can be made transparent - delays are ok but get the messaging right - should be 5 stars.

After ordering kit, didn't here anything from Swytch for a long time, company should do regular up dates each month.Been riding now with the Swych kit now for 8 Months now, i have a few issues with the kit which is mentioned further in the review. Fitted kit to a Btwin 900 Tilt folding bike, the lightest bike i could find. After receiving kit, it was easy to instal, the only tricky part was getting sensor in the right place, remedy moving sensor with Sugru Mouldable Glue, sets hard in 24hrs it wont move now. Once that's sorted pop the charged battery on cradle & you are good to go. The only issues i have with the Swytch kit is range they quote 17 miles on the Air Max i am getting around 11 miles , at the lowest settings. Also in future when the battery is in the cradle it is still on, should have a button to switch off, instead of removing the whole battery. If you wanted to order extra Batteries or other accessories you are unable to do that after the order process has been completed. Just be careful when using power settings the higher you go more power you use lowering your range(really fast on 5 ). Overall a good lightweight kit.

I have just completed 3 years with the switch kit and I think I can give a long-term honest usage review. To start with, if it weren't for Swytch I would have given up on cycling in Bristol due to some steep hills in the city. This kit arrived the same day I moved to Bristol and it has been the key to keeping me cycling through the past few years with some physical challenges. I have the last-generation kit and it still gives me around 25-28 miles on a moderate hill cycling. Secondly, I like the volume and small holding grip which helps in taking out the battery and just charging either at work or home and not really feel awkward carrying big lumps of tower batteries that were available during early 2020 in this budget. Lastly, the customer service is absolutely brilliant. I had a minor issue with the controller and contacted customer service. They replaced the entire battery pack within a week of my logging issue. I am very impressed and possibly will go for the new generation one as soon as I have saved some extra for this. To anyone contemplating converting your bike with swytch kit, go for it - You won't get any better than this.

Resolving to resurrect an older second road bike for use on wet weather days, I was busy upgrading it with a new hollow tech chainset and branded dual pivot front brake calipers when it occurred to me what better upgrade than going digital electric. Cue the ever-so-easy-to-fit Swytch conversion kit. Now what was my second best bike has easily become my favourite conveyance, revolutionising journeys around town.
