Great to upgrade my older bike. I have the long range battery but pretty difficult to get to 30+kms as 20 to 22 is max.....or I would have given a 5-starLouis rating

Delivery took almost a year for two systems. Customer service is only wort a 1 out of 5. The product so far has been good... again so far.

Great bit of kit and easy to set up. The down side is that you have to wait ages from order to delivery and then if you would like any accessories after purchase it is really difficult to buy as it seems most accessories can only be bought at time of original kit order.

The good: it works. Simple to use. Reasonable price. Makes cycling uphill with a heavy load sooo much easier. The bad: didn’t read the small print and had not realised that the axle would not fit my trek bike. In the end I put it on an old bike we had and it fits fine. Not ideal but still happy. Recommend that you regularly check your brake pads as they wear down faster than normal.

Kit is good, easy to fit and bike rides well. Couple of minor issues (a) Battery capacity indicator can drop a little at max assist but recovers after normal assist. We'll see how many cycles its good for. (b) Battery mounting is secure/firm but does tend to get in the way of handle bar front light mount. Overall, recommended.

Price ok. Delivery wait is too long. Came well packaged. Fairly easy to fit except for the magnetic disc sensor which was extremely fiddly and very frustrating.

My installation process did not resemble the quick and easy installation depicted in the video on installation. The whole thing took several days and multiple contacts with customer support. The problem is the step-through frame and the fact that the place on the frame where the pedal sensor must go is angled away from the magnet wheel, and thus it is very difficult to achieve the correct distance between the sensor and the magnet wheel. I finally figured out a way to do this and I'm hopeful it does not come loose. The first pedal sensor I was sent was defective. Customer service immediately sent me a replacement, which works just fine. Overall, customer service was very helpful in trying to assist me. With regard to performance, it seems to work pretty well and I have gotten much longer distances than what I'm reading from other reviews. With the setting at the least amount of power (setting 1) for the entire ride, on a ride mixed with hills and flat sections, I managed to get 49 km out of the max battery before it quit. The distance is accurate as I used my Garmin watch and phone app to measure rather than just relying on the Swytch OLED display. I did not shut off the power at any point during this ride. I'm not sure if this will turn out to be typical. I guess we will see.

I have now converted three bikes to Swytch - a Brompton, my big old Dutch bike and my wife's Pashley, and have helped two friends to convert their bikes. It's a bit of a technical job to convert them, and I had to file out the narrower drop-outs on the forks, which is fine for me as a bike fettler - but very much worth it. We live in a hilly area, so we can continue to do the shopping, town and pub rides by bike when fully loaded. I also love zipping around London on my E-Brompton for work meetings. I have had a few minor issues but Customer Service has always been helpful. It would be good if the non-Brompton cranks sensor disc could have a crank-clamp (like the Brompton one), as this is a weak / vulnerable spot which can get knocked. In short the Swytch kits are great - fun to ride and great for keeping cycling and doing load-lugging or hilly journeys without getting the car out. The reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the order time can be quite long and expensive if you pay full price - but much cheaper than buying a new E-bike if you like your old bike!

Overall I enjoy my swytch conversion kit. Installation was pretty straightforward but did need some filing of the axle to fit correctly in my fork. I had to buy some specialized tools that I didn't already have. And I feel for somebody less mechanically inclined it might feel like a much more difficult install. For me it was fine. I have the basic kit and I believe their stated range is around 7 miles but I have never once approached that distance even with the setting on the lowest amount of assist to try to increase the batteries capacity. Perhaps according to mathematics it should be around 7 miles but in real world usage I would say I have never gotten more than around three and a half miles before it has to be charged. The other frustrating issue is that the computer part and the battery both have power indicators and yet they almost never agree with each other. The computer power level indicator shrinks very quickly and will cut out and stop sending power to the motor even though the battery indicator is still showing three of five lights meaning there should be at least 50% of battery left. What makes this even worse is that when power is not actively being sent to the motor there is considerable drag against your self-powered pedaling. Then if I stop at a stop sign or for a minute or two on the side of the road the power indicator on the computer goes back up and now I have power again. So there's something wrong in the programming that hopefully could be fixed for future models. It's really frustrating to see that your battery has more than 50% power and the brain of the whole thing decide that you have zero. If you live in a flat area with no inclines and no hills I think switch is a wonderful product. If you only need to go about 3 mi before you're back home and able to charge your battery I think switch is a wonderful product. If you need to go all day long, make multiple stops around your city before you're going to get home you better make sure you carry that charger with you and have somewhere to charge it because there is no way you're going to get a day of use out of your bike. I love the electric assist but every single day I think about switching it back to my standard bike. And even with these challenges I still give it 4 out of 5 stars it's a good product for a very specific rider.

Had bike my wife loved and felt safe on and was able to convert it to an e-bike. Less expensive than trying to find and pay for a replacement .

As a pensioner I ordered Swytch to get me back on my trusty old neglected bike. Ordering straightforward, and package delivered as advised after three months. Fitting myself took not much more than an hour following the instructions provided. Been a transformation with many easy 30 milers now under my belt! I'd recommend Swytch as a great value for money product for anyone thinking of converting an old bike.

Nice effective simple to fit kit. As long as you’re happy with fairly low distances - - a few trips to shops etc - this has to be the kit to go for. Very happy with this choice.

I have a 20 inch wheel folding bike and received the brompton wheel. Not sure if that was my fault but I believed I had ensured it was not a brompton that I needed. The return was relatively easy. Once the correct wheel arrived, it was fairly easy to install. The swytch is my favorite of the 2 e-bikes I have- it is effortless on flats and manages enough to assist relatively steep hills. It doesn’t add so much weight as to make a noticeable difference on the ride. Other than having to deal with the company via email, swytch is a great product. And it’s not rocket science to install altho if you no longer have hand strength it helps to have a curious friend help when needed.

It took about an hour to install. The video they provide is helpful but there are some steps that look easier in the video than they are in real life. I purchased this for my dad who is 86 and still rides 15 miles a day. He wanted an electric bike but would not be able to lift a traditional electric bike onto a bike rack. The key feature of this is that you can install it on your existing bike. It’s also good that the battery is very lightweight. The downside is the range of the battery. Depending on how much assistance you need, you might only get 15 miles per charge. We ended up purchasing a second battery because we typically go on 25 mile bike rides. Having the back-up has been very useful. The other thing to be aware of is if you purchase the upgraded display unit, it’s not very easy to see what level you are at or how much battery is left while you are riding. We need to stop and cover the display with our hand to be able to see it. Otherwise, we are very happy with the kit and hope to get many years out of it.

I get around 6 to 7 miles on the smallest battery, which is only enough for the nearest town. Swytch Bike’s business model of taking payment months before the equipment is ready could be considerably better. The kit was fairly easy to fit, but I did need to change the handlebars to get the battery mount to fit. The battery status indicator on the controller consistently shows lower than the battery itself.

The SB is a great product when riding and it's really easy to swytch your regular bike into an electric one. The firm could improve though in being realistic about dispatch and delivery of the kit or, even better, live up to their promises in this matter.

When finally fitted it works well, however due to the crank arm /chain ring configuration, one bike needs the 'pick-up' round the crank set correcting at the beginning of every ride. It can also be knocked out of alignment during a ride. The installation on another bike required the threaded bar (hub) supplied in the front wheel to be filed down from 10mm to 9mm and that is what we were advised to do to make it fit the front drop out. It was rather precise exercise which some people may not want to tackle. Before purchase check your bike for the existing front drop out size, look carefully at fitting instruction and your crank set up to minimise the fitting problems. So a couple of days to resolve our technical hitches - support was available - then we able to cover 30k reasonably before the batteries ran down. Buy a spare if you can to get a good days ride. (i've not found that ability yet)
