For once a product came through exactly as described and promised! No errors, no mistakes. The installation could not have been easier and the system works perfectly. I rave about it to everyone that asks me about it. Well done Swytch!

I bought a Swytch Brompton Pro Kit in November 2021 for £779. The kit was delivered in Dec 2021 and assembled by a mechanic at a bike shop who had experience with the kits to ensure everything was adequately done. Assembling it is not as straight forward as advertised. The warranty was activated after in mid-January and two weeks’ latter I had the first issue where the kit stopped working all together, leading to a few weeks of back and forth email from costumer support, troubleshooting and a first controller replacement. 4 months’ latter, in June, I reported an issue with the battery pack millage range. The Brompton Pro Kit advertised a range of 50km however it consistently delivered 30 to 35km for a full charge on a mostly flat daily commute in London (tested with GPS tracking several times). A couple more weeks of email exchange with Swytch which identified the issue as being related with the controller, once again, and send a 2nd replacement. That solved the issue at the time. I have never experienced a smooth ride and there was always some jerking (turbulent ride) which Swytch support never managed to sort out although at some point there was a query about the weight put on the bike (my weight is 65kg). Eventually I "learned" to live with this by reducing the speed and pedaling slowly. In February 2023, 7-months after the motor started to stop intermittently mid-ride and the battery turned off without any particular reason. I reported the issue, and during March and April went back and forth with emails, multiple troubleshooting and cleaning of parts, which resolved the problem for a couple of weeks. However in the first week of May the kit just stopped working all together. It has been 2-months of back and forth communication, several troubleshooting steps, several parts replaced including the handlebar bracket and the battery bag but nothing changed, the kit is just not working. The final outcome was that a new controller would be required, the 3rd since I bought the kit, however Swytch are no longer keeps them in stock so the alternative is to sell me a discounted Pro Power pack?! As if £779 for the kit, multiple faults in what probably was a faulty original package, and several months of unused kit weren’t enough. I have tried to request a refund and return the parks however in case you aren’t aware there is a 14-day period to test and return the kit, after which there is no possibility of returning a kit. The argument from Swytch is that the warranty has expired, not taking into account the several issues and periods where the kit didn't work, and they have send several parts, hence nothing else to be done. Overall an expensive kit, even with the presumably 50% discount from pre-order, that doesn’t deliver what it promises in quality, a technical support that takes too long to reply, a customer service that isn’t fit for purpose and nonexistent formal complaint system. In the absence of a formal escalation process for complaining with Swytch I have contacted the citizens advise for guidance on proceeding with a formal complaint. My suggestion is avoid Swytch altogether.

I was warned by multiple cycle shops about installing the swytch kit who mentioned that they did not recommend it at all as it is a front wheel drive and not a back wheel one. I went through with it despite my apprehension, as I love a good bike ride but found hills and busy roads quite tough. I'm happy I did because it's genuinely been such a huge help and the pick up is very smooth despite the power being on the front wheel. I'm not bogged down or intimidated by hills, roads busy with cars or long distances anymore. Quite useful that I don't have to bring the whole bike all the way into the house to charge, as the battery is detachable. Also love the fact that there's 5 different speed modes to suit anyone's pace. Some of the marketing is quite misleading though. All videos and marketing allude to the fact that converting to the swytch kit is as easy as 1,2,3 but it's definitely not. The instructions on switching out the wheels and installing all the parts were not nearly as detailed as they should have been. You have to be a proper bicycle enthusiast or higher to even begin to understand how to do it. I had to watch a ton of independent YouTube videos, but then finally gave up and hired the only cycle shop in my area that was willing to install it. This was an additional £120 on top of the cost of the kit itself. Using the kit and the newly converted bike has been great so far, but I wish the marketing had been more honest and the instructions way more detailed. Another thing I'd have liked is to be able to purchase add ons after purchasing the bike. However, you can only purchase accessories as add ons while pre-ordering the kit itself, and not after. It would have been useful to have used the bike and then understand what I add ons I needed instead of the pressure of having to purchase them before I receive the kit and risking having made a wasted purchase, as these aren't cheap either. I haven't had any issues with the bike yet and overall it's a great product once you get past all the hurdles of getting it shipped and installed, but I hope the customer service team comes through if there is. When I had pre-ordered the kit, it took ages and ages to deliver and there was no response from the team when asked for an update. I finally got a shipping confirmation when I complained on a public post on Instagram.

I have a Trek FX2. I ordered the default kit but it was too big for my bikes forks. After contact with the support team, I paired the kit down to fit the forks. The support team offered to send a new kit out free of charge, while also confirming that me filing the kit would be covered on warranty, very helpful. I would suggest Trek FX2 users to order a kit with a 9mm width, the 10mm width is too big. Assembly, I found the assembly pretty straightforward. There’s a sensor which picks up when you start pedaling, it’s a great feeling having the motor kick in for the first time. Unfortunately bikes are often targeted for theft, I believe the fact the battery comes with you, after parking the bike, makes the swytch bikes less likely to be stolen. On the whole, I’m delighted with the swytch kit and would highly recommend.

The main issue with this product is waiting for it... it took almost a year for me bit it was worth it.

The Swytch kit is not heavy. So it adds very little weight. Even with the battery, the bike does not seem heavy at all. Then when you turn it on, you pedal and get powerful toque surge and the bike takes off. This is my second battery powered bike. This makes each bike trip pleasurable and fun.

The installation took a little longer than expected and I also had to remove my kickstand so that the pedal sensor could fit but it was a small price to pay to have the ability to ride for longer distances much more comfortably. I use level 1 assist for most of my riding and I've found that my range is much longer than 30km which is great. I did find a discrepancy between the battery levels of the swytch battery and the OLED display, so I always go by lights on the battery instead. Shipping also took longer than expected, it was about a month delay.

Not the cheapest way, but simply the best way to pump up your best bike.

The kit has been a great addition to my new bike, despite originally purchasing this for a mountain bike. Now, using a single-speed bike, not only did the kit fit my new bike, but it has helped make my bike ride better than before.

Generally very pleased with the conversion and impressed with the company. However, I do find it difficult to judge how much battery power is left. The handlebar sensor lights never correspond with the battery lights. And does a spare battery really need to cost £350?

Swytch provides an exceptional solution if you a) already have a good quality bike you love, and b) you don’t want to spend thousands on a new electric bike. It is easy to install and works as promised. The new generation batteries are small enough to carry easily (we chose 2 of the smallest size in order to switch out for longer distances without needing to recharge). The only issue was axle size for the front wheel - the Swytch wheel was 10mm and our bike is 9mm. A quick bit of filing and problem solved (I believe Swytch now produces 9mm axles). All in all, Swytch is an excellent solution. Highly recommended.

Love it! The most utilized feature is the pedal assist for me. Keeping that cadence on flat or hilly ground is vital for me and has been a blessing in recovering from a recent hip replacement. I have yet to have an issue with battery wearing down too far during a ride. I've always had more than enough battery life.

Love the Swytch. I converted my Raleigh step-through bike into an e-bike effortlessly. Even the guys at my local bike shop were amazed! Don’t wait. Make your bike into an e-bike with the Swytch.

I found the kit easy to fix without any problems. Although my bike is quite heavy, it’s made of steel, the Swytch kit has no problem propelling it at a reasonable pace although it struggles on steep hills. I have no regrets buying the Swytch kit and strongly recommend it. Great value for money.
