There was several challenges converting the wheel and it required contact to your team and buying extra equipment. But I succeeded and it works really really well.

Kit was very easy to put together, and is a very solid kit. This would be a 5 star rating, however my only issue is that when i bought this kit it was advertised as going 25km/h, however on the box it says it tops at just 20km/h.

I have had the kit for about three weeks now. Installation was pretty easy; I just needed to take my time. I needed to do a little fettling to my forks (old-school steel/chrome touring bike), to get the wheel to fit. I have the larger Air Max battery which is perfect. I don't use the additional assistant on the morning commute but I do on the way home. The little niggles, and reading the reviews there always seems to be a 'little niggle'. The additional charger I ordered didn't arrive. I didn't particularly like the not being able to phone but email seemed to work. It arrived a couple of weeks later. Plus, I order an additional controller, to adjust the power settings or turn it off. When it arrived it clearly wouldn't fit on my handlebars. I was told I needed the attached to hold the controller. An extra £25 for a pretty simple post that screws to the battery clamp. At no time when ordering was it mentioned that I'd need to buy that. That was frustrating. One other thing while I think about it, again another minor (ish) thing but I'm a little disappointed about the built quality of the wheel. There are no spoke nipple washers on the rim. So the spokes are directly in contact with the rim. That's a bit strange. Over time the spokes will rub away at the rims and that will affect longevity. LIttle details like the seem to let down what overall could be a real quality bit of kit. Time will tell.

Very nice and powerful when there is battery. Unfortunately very hard to cycle once the battery is over.

It is easy to have the battery on, but not use the assistance until you actually need it. Setup was easy. It may take a little bit to figure out how to use the power assist and your gearing effectively. It did feel like it was going to run away with me once! If you have a touring (mild step through design) Trek you will lose your water bottle cage spot in order to put it inside the frame. I added a pannier rack and put the battery on the back so I could keep my cage. There is enough room in the bag to fit a small air pump and another water bottle. I put tools from the swytch kit in the side panels. It all fits in the top rack bag without expansion. If I could handle the weight, I could put bags on the sides for extra carrying, like picnicking, camping, or running errands. I paid extra for faster delivery, which did not happen. However, when I contacted customer service about it, I did have said fee refunded with no fuss. That was much appreciated.

I've had my Swytch kit for about 3 weeks now. I was very impressed with the packaging and the video help instructions on installation. It took me a leisurely 3 hours to install but then I'm not a full time bike mechanic. Functionally it is great. I have the smallest battery and I live somewhere hilly but I can complete 12-15 mile rides with some battery charge left. I've replaced a lot of car journeys with the bike as it enables you to go uphill at a safe speed in areas where cars cannot pass. A couple of minor gripes - the delivery notification process didn't work so the tracking number was non-functional and the kit was delivered before I got could get any delivery time details. The small spare cables on the harness (for throttle and brake sensors should but don't come with little caps to protect them. None of this should put you off buying this excellent product however.

Pros: Relatively cheap and relatively simple way of making your favourite bike and E bike. Customer service and purchasing generally good once an order is placed. Kit works exactly as stated: range weight etc Someone who enjoys tinkering can fit the kits pretty easily Cons: Order process is weird: like buying gig tickets. Why can't you just say "out of stock. We can email you when new stock is available"? Not enough power to get you up proper hills. On a long incline the extra power flies you along. Hit a proper hill and you have to get off and push. Which brings me to ... Batteries are heavy. To do a proper trip with mates you need 3 air max. Which should give you up to 45 miles. They're heavy. Pushing the bike up hills is like wheeling a wheelbarrow of bricks. Especially when you add the Go++ on. Batteries are very very expensive. Like "new bike from Halfords" expensive

This is my second kit after converting my wife's bike a few years ago and I'm very happy with it. I converted an old ten speed road bike that I had restored and it's just a pleasure to ride. Along with the Swytch kit, I added some commuter bike handlebars and a more comfortable saddle. I'm thinking about buying a small trailer to use for shopping trips as well. Easy install and good support are a plus. The only negative is the wait time as I had to wait ten months for delivery in irder to get what I consider to be a fair price point.

The installation took some doing and I am still working out a few kinks, but so far it seems great. My main issue now is that there is no way to lock the battery, which seems like a huge oversight. The site says there is a bottle cage lock that should be available this year. I hope it is soon. For now I guess I will take an extra bag with me to put the battery in when I leave the bike.

I would give 5 stars, as my first 4 rides have been really good - love the different speeds, great range, everything working well. However, installation was much more painful than it should have been. The magnetic ring that fits the crank was the wrong size in spite of my providing my cycle's details - I should have had the universal disc rather than the standard one. I contacted customer service and had to push for a replacement. Then, for some reason, the same standard disc was sent to me twice more. In the end, I gave up, and cut down the inside of the standard disc so that it fits. Not ideal, but I have ended up with a product that works really well.

I am quite happy with my swytch bike. I have a mountain bike. I wasn't sure I was going to like it because I did not order a throttle. However I find that I don't need the throttle and I like the idea that I've got to keep peddling in order to get the bike to go which keeps me exercising. Customer service has been good. The wait is the longest thing. Hopefully that wait time improves over time. I like the fact that my bike does not weigh a hundred pounds, the swytch has made an e-bike out of a very lightweight bicycle. Instructions to put the bike together was very clear and the videos helped very much. It's very easy to get the bike to work. My bike frame is very odd shape so getting the sensor down where it needed to be was an issue. However I figured it out and finally got it to work so now I'm off and biking.

Good customer service, responding to pre purchase queries in a timely manner. The price when ordering was generally clear, except I ordered two kits and did not realise there would be a discount for two kits. This could have been mentioned up front. The technical specs are again generally clear, except it would help to have a greater explanation of the the differing functionality between options ( eg the controller) to aid ordering. Delivery occurred in the timeframe specified. Installation was relatively straightforward, using the clear instruction booklet provided. So far our usage has been limited, but initial indications are very encouraging.

I live in Sheffield which is very hilly. Sometimes the SWYTCH kit can feel a little underpowered.

The installation wasn’t without some hiccups but the customer service folks were quick to help. Overall I am happy with the system, though sometimes it is a bit slow to kick on or off when I start or stop pedaling. It’s not a problem but neither is it seamless. The lack of regenerative braking is also less than ideal for my situation.

Price was good - more economical than buying new e-bike. Wait time for delivery was long. Would have preferred to receive it sooner at the price I paid. Delivery was good - well packed and no shipping damage. Order was accurate - no need for returns.

Product ordered was timely delivered; well packaged. Have had three issues with Swytch system: (1) Lights for status of battery is confusing becaus difference between what appears on the battery itself and what appears on the control device on handle bar. (2)Handle bar device is awkward to scroll/turn off while riding when battery is not needed and then back on to resume battery assist. (3) Mounting sensor system on crank arm is challenging to install on arms that have tapper and rounded side. The requirement for proximity to sensor on frame (post) is hard to achieve and zip ties are not as tight as desired because the ties are secured to a tapped/round surface.

I have already got a swytch kit on a folder (air model) and an old handlebar mounted one on an old mountain bike. The new centre mounted battery was to replace the one on the mountain bike and has transformed the ride. It has got rid of the front heavy feel from the old kit. Much smoother off road as well. The other kits have proved reliable and mean I can keep riding and enjoying my 30 yr old bike.
