I'm happy with my kit. It works well and it was fairly simple to assemble, despite having some issues in attaching the pedal sensor to the bike frame (my frame and front deraileur didnt make the job as easy as in the manual). Apart from that, its nice to have electric help in climbing with an heavy bike. As for the manufacturing and shipping times, they were much longer than I expected (I ordered in September-2023 and it only arrived in July-2024.

I’m obsessed with my Swytch: my bike goes like a rocket and it’s such fun. I had it professionally fitted (for £60) as the skills needed were beyond me and my bike needed some work anyway. The only missed opportunity is having a lockable bracket for the battery: having to take it off and carry if whenever I lock it up publicly, and then fit it back on before I can cycle away is a bit boring. But compensated for by the speed and ease I can cycle with now.

I do not give 5 stars because of the delay of the order and the fact that the charger plug is not compatible in my country (luckily I have some spare ones which fit the battery). Other than that, all good!

Swytch kit was good. Gives you what do you expect for an e-bike. But still need a bit push for uphill terrain.

I was really excited when my swytch bike came in the mail! It was super easy to put together and everything came just as I ordered it. However I did run into a few problems. At first none of my local sport stores could find the proper inner tube and tire for the wheel. And after going to what seemed like 3 different stores, I finally went to a specialty bike shop and I did find what I needed. Secondly the instructions did mention to initially charge the battery which I did. But, after about 4 rides I did notice the battery not lasting as long. I am hoping this battery isn’t second hand or anything. Maybe damaged or something? Really, I feel that I am not getting the correct distance which was advertised for this battery. And for being brand new, right? Besides that, I think this product is a fantastic addition to my bike. My daughter loves the idea of an ebike. She wants to get one too one day. We’ll see. She’s only 5.

I'm a Bikeability instructor and use my bike for work, unfortunately my lower back was injured in an accident so steep hills can agreviate it. So Swytching my bike up has been a godsend to help me get to and from work & do my job on bad days. It also means that my bike stays light enough to be easily transport by car to different areas. I bought 2 batteries, a large 1 to get to and from work and a small 1 to use all day when teaching. I like the fact that I can switch off the power to do slow demonstrations and the bike is still light and easy to pedal. I waited to buy by using the promo email to reduce cost. It was easy to assemble the Swytch changes to my bike with clear instructions and videos.

Received a 'promo' email from Swytch with details of their products relating to Brompton Cycles.. the list contained a battery 'bracket' that replaces the 'bag bracket' on the headstock ... this means the battery is re-located from the handlebars to the headstock. Whow !! what a difference.. the weight is moved from the high up position that impacts the steering function... to way down low .. lowering the centre of gravity. Back to normal bike handling... this is a great improvement. ( had to remove the front light reflector ... no probs .. battery pack has a light built in... no Brompton bag .. I use a light weight rucksack .. all good !! )

Kit was reasonably easy to fit, but some of the instructions were for other versions, different battery etc. and not clear on the crank fittingdifferences. Also, I now have unused connections for brakes & throttle, which I think should be provided with caps to close them up. Display does not have any variability in the fitting size - handlebars on my bike too large diameter tube, so I had to wire display in place. Overall though, very happy so far!

Functionally speaking, the kit performs very well. The controller is set up with five assist levels which kick in gradually, notwithstanding the sensor is a pedal sensor, not a torque sensor. Switching assist levels with the simple GO controller is smoother and easier than switching ordinary gears. Assembly did not present undue difficulty as long as care and time were taken. The magnetic sensor mechanism and new wheel went on without trouble. The biggest problem was in dressing the wiring harness. Swytch should try to figure out how to provide harnesses in varying, or short-but-extendible lengths. Basically, no matter what method of wire mounting in used, all of that thick black wire looks terrible, whether wound up, taped over, or whatever. Swytch should warn users of the brake sensors that their use requires exposing a portion of the interior cables, which means removing the cable, cutting the casing, and re-tipping the cables. This was all too much trouble so I have the sensors but am not using them. Packaging of the shipment was excellent, no damage was found, and no components were missing. Time between order and delivery, however, was several months. Customer service was quickly responsive to complaints about delivery time, and questions about assembly. At the price I paid, the kit was good value at the time I ordered it; but as time goes on and ebike components become cheaper, Swytch will have to follow along.

Product is fine, but the “Sale 30% off” didn’t work.

Long lead time, but product is great. It’s not super heavy either (with the smallest battery at least). A few hiccups with installation that were quickly resolved with customer support. In hindsight I would have preferred a matt black wheel which I don’t think was available when I went through the order portal, but this would have been a better match to my back wheel in hindsight. Be careful about screw length if you’re installing disc breaks. For those curious as to whether exercise benefit is greatly diminished, my watch thinks I’m using about 20% less energy per km on the default settings compared with unassisted.

I have just added a Go+ system to my Dawes Galaxy tourer. I am 68, and was finding hill climbing with luggage increasingly difficult. The Swytch hub now makes quite steep hills a breeze, even in a higher gear. On the negative side, it took 9 months between placing the order, and receiving the kit. In terms of ther installation process, the new wheel and hub slotted in with no adjustments. The problematic part was fitting the pedal sensor, as my Shimano crank is and unusual design, and there is virtually no space between the crank and frame, so the standard sensor was incompatible. Bartosz in CS was very helpful in supplying the other two options, and I was able to untilise the univeral fitting which is a little cludgy with cable ties, but does the trick. The other thing to be aware of, is that the OLED display and control will only fit onto a 22mm bar and mine is much thicker. I was able to get round this by attaching it to the bar extension that I use for my phone/GPS.

Far too long to wait for it to arrive, ordered in Feb, arrived end of June (nearly 4 months), Peddle sensor fitted fine but not the magnetic part to the peddle arm, eventually fitted with use of glue and sharp knife. Ordered the thumb throttle but this dosnt seem to do anything when riding the bike. wheel goes round VERY slowly when lifted off the ground, but i expected it to propell the bike when not peddling, but this dosnt happen. waste of money on that piece ! Overall it works well when peddling, up hill is fine, without strain on my legs. Fitted to a hybid mountain bike that i have had for years, fitting was easy enough, just some patience ! Price ok, but cheaper rear wheel options available out there..

When the kid arrived, the packaging was excellent to protect all the components. Installation was very easy, just a little confusion on running the cables. The product works very well, although at times the pedal sensor does not engage and I must stop and adjust the sensor on the bike frame. This is not good when you are going up the hill.

Good quality kit, simple enough to fit and does the job. Easy to use. Price is acceptable if you can get an offer. Customer service is good although on line and more impersonal than it used to be Disappointed that I couldn’t have a black wheel with the new bigger under cross bar battery Range on the Max is not enough, around 12 - 15 miles even on level 1 and a lot of coasting

When I got ebike put together it ran fine, but I had some trouble attaching components. The swytch help portal was quite useful when I contacted them, but there were discrepancies in what was sent to me and the bike I had. I got the wrong components at times, but the staff was helpful in getting it fixed.

The product is great and the method of ordering it is ok. I was nervous parting with the deposit without knowing that the details would be asked for next. The price is a bit steep but you are getting a quality product. Delivery is prompt and system for returns is sound. Customer service is ok but you could do with a slightly quicker response time when something goes wrong. It would be nice to have the option to talk to someone. The live chat seems pretty useless. Also, the customer service response time option has a gap from 6 - 12 hours and next is over a week. It was 3 - 3 days.

Bought a thumb throttle for my Swytch bike which works great HOWEVER a had two problems others considering purchasing may want to note. Firstly, if you have "trigger gear shifters" positioning the throttle can become problematic and the only option I had was to change the logical sequence and put it first (left to right). If I had it in the middle or on the right side, the gear triggers wouldn't operate correctly (in any position). Second issue was my mistake, I wanted to test the throttle first before installing it so I connected the cable and tried it out by holding it my hand. Great, it works! Then I tried to disconnect the cable so I could install it on the handle bar. I just could not get the cable apart without excessive force. In the end I had to take the whole battery cradle off the bike (the thumb cradle still attached) so I could have enough cable length to get the throttle onto the handle bar. Perhaps Swytch could add some installation notes/tips to help potential buyers.

Slightly delayed and communication not great but pleased with end result. Installation manual ok - just kept working through a bit at a time. Overall ... no regrets with purchase. GO÷

It does exactly what is was designed to do - pedal assist. It does indeed take much of the hard work out of hills!
