Now that it works it is like magic and is a game changer for me. However, there are a few things to be aware of. 1. The kit is not as easy to fit as one is led to believe. I can change a tyre ok but fitting the kit to the pedals is beyond me. I took my bike to a bike shop where you can test ride Swytch but even then it didn't work properly at first and the gap between the pedal disk and sensor had to be adjusted. 2. The bike is now very front heavy and I worry going down very steep hills so take them very slowly and stand on the pedals to lower my centre of gravity. I feel if I ride I might go over the handlebars. Probably not likely but it feels that I might. 3. Even the max battery runs down quite quickly especially on hills. Might not do so for a faster rider who produces more pedal power than I do. I ride on lowest power except when going up very steep hills. 4. It takes a bit of getting used to especially starting, stopping and going up hills. The power doesn't kick in until you are peddeling, if you ease off peddeling, even for a moment, going up a hill you will stop. You may find yourself going faster than you are used to and braking more at junctions. 5. I have strange handle bars and the Swytch people weren't sure the battery holder would fit but it does so read everything on the website and look carefully at your bike before deciding whether or not to buy. All in all, despite the above, the kit has made a huge difference to my bike riding. I can now cycle up the steep hill I live at the top of.

The swytch bike kit was very easy to install onto our bike. It worked well and seamlessly for the first 6 months or so, but then the pedal sensor stopped working despite all the adjustments. That was replaced and then started working well again as long as the sensor was adjusted every once in a while. My main issue is that about just over a year later of getting the kit, the battery life decreased drastically, about 30-40%. It is still working but we get way less range. Something to consider if this is meant to be anything more than for short trips getting around town. The response from customer support was mostly quick and helpful, although one time it took some time to hear back.

It's a great conversion kit that's pretty easy to set up (if you're comfortable working on bikes). I love how inconspicuous it is. The battery life isn't amazing, but it's pretty easy to pack a backup battery in your backpack (assuming you have purchased one) and switch out when you need to.

Love it, probably bit tricky to fit but my husband did it! Didn’t get the programming right at first and whilst the power came on to begin with it dropped off after a while, my husband sorted this by reading up on it and programmed in a smaller wheel than I have. Now it’s just brilliant, my bike looks like a ‘normal’ bike, battery sits at the front, in the basket, I only switch it on when I need it - hills, strong winds, but it makes me laugh with the joy of it and puts a smile on anyone’s face who tries it. Kit did take a bit of time to arrive but that’s fine and the price is well worth it as you don’t have to splash out thousands for a heavy, unattractive (most of them are) purpose built electric bike.

I have been riding my present bike for over 20 years - it was a gift given in appreciation of ecumenical work I had been doing in a Parish I had been serving in in Northern Ireland by the 2 Primary Schools in the village. I was reluctant to change it for a brand new electric bike. The Swytch kit has enabled me to continue to enjoy it and indeed ride it more and further than I had been. It was keenly priced. I think the length we are required to wait for our kits should be worked on. Thankfully I haven't needed to return anything or seek a refund.

Ordering and delivery took a very long time On a big hill the battery drain is immediate and sometimes drops to 2 bars but does 'recover' over time Extra £50 for a black wheel - never paid a premium for a black wheel before Range claimed to be 20miles but this is very questionable Discrepancy between battery life on handlebar display and LED's on battery System is heavy, despite claims to the contrary - Have been spending more time on my normal (non-electrified) bike Whilst it achieves the desired result, expectations were high based on the PR from Swytch, but these expectations were a little deflated once used a few times - Swytch should have been more transparent during ordering Some items described in the instructions not possible with kit

I had a very different expectation for Swytch bike. After a long and tedious install, the unit operates, however I am disappointed in the level of "assist it provides" I would not recommend this product to my friends. It doesn't assist that much really. As an older person in their 60's it was challenging to put together and did not actually assist in a fashion that I find acceptable. Next time I would chose an electric bike over the Switch bike. :0( If you buy this product, have a clear understanding of what you want and what this product offers.

For the most part, I like my swytch bike very much. It was of course a long wait to get it. It was fairly easy to assemble and does exactly what I was hoping for against the wind, up hills, etc. however, I am very disappointed in battery life, I’m lucky if I can get 6 miles out of a charge. And from what I see a second battery is quite expensive.

Good customer service. The conversion kit is a bit fiddly but works well when fitted. The power control is rather basic.

Swytch bike is perfect to get around my city! I'm very happy to keep my bike light and have that little help that keep me smiling. The negative part is that the first kit was malfunction and I wait to long to get a new one from the guarantee.

All OK except that cannot find any V-brake blocks that don't screech on the alloy wheel rim. They're OK on a steel wheel.

Converting a bike is a worthwhile price option in comparison to fully EV bike. Great for a commute to and from work. Battery life could be a little better, need to take charge with me to work for a battery top up. Bottle mount position for the battery works better for me. Cables are a little untidy, but doesn’t change the ride experience.

I am very happy with my Swytch . For the price that was a quarter of what I would spend on replacing my former ebike . The whole kit is of very good qualitiy . The riding expierance is just as good as a a good quality ebike . And I have the benifit of riding my old dutch bike now with a motor . I do not use the swtch for every jouney but it is a blessing on windy days and a great help when I tow my bicycle trailor. My only complaint was the courrier whole delievered the kit who's communication could have been better .

Battery is too small for hilly areas.

It was a bit tricky to get the sensor on the pedals to fit and work properly. The rest of the wiring was simple. Changing a tube is more challenging, but not so much as to be a total pain once you get the hang of it. Would I buy it again? Maybe not. There are other options coming available that I would be sure to compare with where as when I purchased the Swytch there weren't many other conversion choices. That said, I like the way it performs.

In January, I enjoyed greater stability navigating slush patches on the road with this 2 wheel drive! (Optional feet off the pedals is a great way to stay upright, too.) Now I travel in straighter lines, rather than skirting around hills, so my commute is shorter, and I arrive without the sweat previously required to accomplish the same speedy trip. Question: As the battery begins to drain, the motor seems to oppose my pedaling, which seems remedied if I switch the controller off. (The controller reads 1 bar at these times, but the battery indicator seldom goes below 3 lights.) What is causing this increased resistance?

Has improved my commute. That said be careful with the range of the battery even at the lowest setting it does not last that long once you hit a hill or two

It took a while to get my kit. The instructions were very straight forward even though I am not very mechanical minded. I misplaced a couple of parts only to find them later. In the mean time the support team was very helpful and was ready to ship out the missing parts. I was glad to find the parts and had time to tell them to cancel the shipment. Very happy with the performance. I have knee problems so the battery assist was very helpful on my old city bike. I only ride 10-20 km each time so the battery is more than sufficient (used up maybe 1 bar). I would be prepared to buy another kit for my road bike.
