I didn't research how the battery would change things. Since it is mounted inside the frame, the bike will not fit on my Theule trunk bike rack. I can purchase a bike adapter bar to attach when transporting the bike, but that weight plus the extra weight of the battery and electric hub puts the bike at over 50 pounds. The bike carrier is rated for 35 pounds per bike. So now I have a nice pedal assist bike but no way to transport it with my Honda Civic.

Plugged right into existing wiring for the original Swytch equipment. Long wiring harness gives tons of flexibility for where to install the battery.

When I pre-ordered it was said that the top speed would be 20mph it even has the sticker labeld that it should reach 20mph, but it only goes around 13mph, not at all what I expected, if I'd known that, I would had never made the purchase.

I choose the Swytch GO to avoid range anxiety which slightly counters my reason for choosing Swytch for pedal assist vs full throttle and go versions. Now that the build is complete it has me out on my bike more than I originally planned however there were bumps in the road. I only bring up the bumps to improve customers expectation while hoping the company can tighten their processes. 1. Delays. I fully understand that a Kickstarter can exceed the company's planning and occasional update emails help but elongate the process and can lead to customer concerns. The same for delayed delivery. I could have been using the entire summer vs just completing the build at the start of Autum. 2. Packing. There was clear care and concern in the development of the box and boxing however somewhere in the process the extended range battery was moved from its central side location in the box to on top of the new rim & motor. I don't find any damage however the wheel has a slight out of roundness. It's not unusual for new rims to need the spokes adjusted. Just would have felt better the opportunity for damage would be greatly reduced if the battery was in the correct position in the box. I do enjoy the way they used space in the box for all the components. 3. Brake components. It's great to see a company recognize that existing brake cables will most luckily be too short after installing the brake sensors however the cables I received were street bike which have smaller barrel ends. Mine was a mountain style bike with larger barrel ends. Luckily the local bike store had them readily available and the price was minimal. I don't fully remember the ordering process and if asked I could easily have selected the wrong option, but I think the company could focus on this point in the ordering process to accurately identify and support the build. 4. Parts. Another minor inconvenience however the manual states cable ties are included in the kit however mine had no cable ties. I purchase and installed but either get them in the box or update the manual. 5. Accessories. Part of my decision to choose Swytch was battery placement options. I really liked the ease of battery on the "AIR" and was not looking forward to continually installing and removing the "GO" battery (Power Pack) because of the Velcro. I imagine it will wear out over time. I was encouraged to see the metal battery mount accessory that attaches to the bottle rack screws however I'm disappointed to NOT see this offered in accessories. Even now a year later it's not listed as an available accessory. I believe if you include in promo video's, Manuals and show on website that it should be at least viewable in accessories.

I bought this for my wife who has suffered with chronic fatigue and has a pace maker fitted. She used to enjoy cycling and having a mountain bike for off road was an excellent excuse to enjoy the countryside we used to throw them in the car and go off for weekends. This I hope will enable us to do this once again. A fantastic piece of kit. The instructions for assembly onto the bike are clear and simple. The connection details also made very easy in the book. Just follow the instructions. The only thing with our set up was my wife has a front derailer and it was necessary to make a bracket to fit the Sensor, that was a little difficult but being an engineer I over came it with a bit of nylon, patience and a few tools. Would thoroughly recommend converting a bike that is a reasonable cost?

I Have bought and fitted two kits 1st was a early incarnation on my wifes bike no issues 2nd was the newer version on my hybrid bike. Constant problems from delivery nearly a year late, hub motor issue after 1.5 years which I had to fund the replacement as it was out of warranty, latest issue is the handle bar mounted control panel has stopped working. Customer service/ after sales care is non existent don't hold your breath waiting for a reply from 'support' how they can call it support with a straight face is beyond me. In short if you are thinking of buying DO NOT. I put the above review on Trust pilot and Swytch quickly responded saying they would contact privately. Swytch did contact me privately asking for a video of the installed kit then NOTHING in terms of response (NO SUPRISE) I have chased four times via email ( the only way to contact, Swytch do not allow phone calls) and no response at all. So they may commented publicly that they are helping me, do not be fooled, they are not. As I said below if you are thinking of buying a Swytch kit whatever you do please DO NOT.

Let me just get the bad out of the way: The battery life on the Air is pretty disappointing. I just commute to the school where I teach, which is only a couple of miles away, and my Swytch does fine with that round trip. But anything beyond— like running into town for an errand— is basically impossible. Admittedly, I live uphill from everything else, so my home ride is a long slog, but I still wish the battery could get me all the way home. I only keep it on power level 1, too, and I can't get all the way back. If you are going more than, say, 5 miles roundtrip, if there are any hills at all, get the Max upgrade or a dedicated e-bike. Or, I guess, Swytch now has that downtube version that probably goes further. I just wish the Air wasn't even an option, honestly, as it hardly even seems worth it. The good news is that this thing makes me ridiculously happy when I am within range. As others have reported, the installation can be a bit fiddly, but it's really nothing major and might take a few go-arounds to get. I really feel that A) the cost versus the cheapest e-bike is amazing, and B) the fact that I get to still use my beloved vintage '85 Stumpjumper (picture attached) far outweigh the effort it took to get everything installed properly. Commuting daily by bike has become an actual reality because of this thing— it was too easy before to be lazy, but now I look forward to the long uphill coming home every day. What I particularly love about this device is that it's NOT super high-powered. It's fairly inexpensive, well-built, and nice looking, and I feel like I'm still riding my bike....just on easy mode. If you have a cool bike you don't want to get rid of, don't WANT a low-power motorcycle, or just want to get into e-bikes without spending a ton, the Swytch is a great idea.

I like the whole setting and capabilities, but I find a bit tricky to put the battery pack with the other bike cables lying around

The Distance between Pedal Arm and Frame was less than 1mm. In this case the Stability of the Magnetic Disk Regular is not verry good. I grindet one pair easy fit to a bigger diameter and obtained a Save and Secure Setting on the Base of the Arm. Now the zwo Switch Sets we have installed, perform well bejond our Expectations. Thank you and all the best. Leopold Schoeller

Installing yourself is easy peasy. A more elaborated explanation of the options possible would be a plus. Now that i have the basics installed, ordering the brake sensors is another thing to do... The battery lights are a waste of money though: the quality of the plastic construction is mediocre (broken at second use).

Bought a swytch kit as a recommendation from a friend. Initially I thought it was a great purchase but now I'm really regretting buying this. I used the bike a handful of times and always kept in dry storage. I went to use the bike and it came up with error code 30. I logged the problem over 1 month ago and still the problem persists... Their customer service is abysmal. I have emailed so many times and believed I was being ignored by the company for them to respond and say that every time you send a follow up email, you are placed at the back of the queue! That is an insane way to deal with customers. Also cannot contact them by phone so email is the only channel. They have sent me a new LCD screen which did not solve the problem. They responded by telling me the usual stuff they tell you initially when you first log the problem (unplug, plug in blah blah), it's like they don't read the email chains on issues etc. kit is basically brand new and still under warranty so why is it taking so long to get a fix. Currently awaiting an email back from them but every response is taking 3 to 4 days so it's a very slow process. I'll update as this progresses but as it stands, I would steer clear purely based on the aftercare.

After a few weeks, I've been able to fully test the battery (Max). According to the company's website, the Max battery is supposed to have a 15-20 mile (24-32 km) range. It does NOT perform to these specifications. Don't understand this at all because surely they must have made countless performance tests. I tested it a few times going to work and back (round trip: 7 km). After the second trip (so a total of roughly 15 km or 9.3 mi), the battery started to flounder, going in and out of power. And I did not even have the maximum level of assist at 5; it was at 3 for both trips. The coordination between the battery's indicator and the handlebar's LED display was also not on (the former fluctuating between 2 and 3 lights and the LED display indicating 1). Okay, yes, we can charge the battery more often to avoid all this. But their marketing info should be pretty near the mark, and our experience/tests do not confirm this at all. VERY disappointing (not least given the extra cost of the Max battery).

So far so good. Even on the lowest setting, I barely have to pedal and this thing is going. It makes it so much easier to bike further. Materials came on time with everything needed. My reasons for knocking a star - the checkout process feels a bit nickel and dimey. So many things are add-ons. Then, after I paid, I got a bill weeks later for my local taxes. Not sure why that wasn't calculated at checkout. I also struggled with install. I wish I could have just paid someone to do it, but my local bike shop wouldn't because they're not certified. I punctured my tire while installing and had to pay to replace it, then apparently installed the pedal sensor backwards so the kit wasn't working at first, and a friend was finally able to help me troubleshoot. I'm now seeing some regular e-bikes for around the same pricing and people are asking me why I didn't just get a regular e-bike. I'm not sure...but too late now.

Greetings--this is a "review in progress," since my kit was delivered some time ago but I have not been home until this weekend to start assembling it. FWIW: For those (like me) without smart phones, QR codes are not the most welcome way to deliver instructions! I was able to borrow a friend's Iphone, but.... So far so good, apart from a question as to wheel size. I ordered a 27x 1.25, the size of my old front wheel and tyre. When, earlier today, my bike mechanic mounted a new tyre of that size, it popped off of the rim at less than 70 PSI. I noticed, too, that my old rim can fit snugly within the new one; it's almost as though I have a gravel-grinder wheel now, rather than the old skinny road one. We will try other tyres until one works--and if none do, I will let you know. All parts arrived in apparently intact condition, so thumbs up in this department. FedEx took their own sweet time about delivering, but both packages arrived in good order--all good! I will keep you posted about the wheel/tyre mystery and abut how the bike turns out. Thanks!

Recommend buying the throttle, the pedal assist parts are small and plastic and seem flimsy. I did not want to risk pedal assist
