Your Testimonial: Works well, easy enough to fit ( for a 60+ woman) but battery never fully charges-only issue.

There was a lot of fettling need to get the wheel mounted in the front forks and the pedal sensor will only fit with multiple cable ties in all directions to keep it in place. The kit performs well on flat/medium terrain but battery drains very quickly on steep hills even when using the lowest gear. Now fitting all sorted I’m happy with the way the kit works on the bike and makes cycling in mixed elevations much more accessible.

I ordered my kit in September 2022 and received it, with the wrong sized wheel, at the end of March 2023. Since then, I have spent hours exchanging emails with a succession of different people (who all sound like chat bots) who have variously promised to send me a new wheel (first promised "mid-March" - so travelling back in time!) and finally trying to just send the kit back and get a refund. Customer service is just bread crumbing - an occasional email with the promise of action and then silence for weeks. Nearly ten months in, I give up. Please don't buy from Swytch.

Love the kit. It's extended the distance I'm comfortable cycling and it really helps me with Bristol's hills. Never thought I'd still be tackling them aged 60. I also like still being able to get my bike on the train if I need to.

I pre-ordered the Swytch kit with quite a long lead time for delivery (my choice). When things started to happen, the communication was consistent and efficient and kept me upto date as to when the kit was going to arrive. Once it had reached their depot and was despatched to me, the comms were really good and the kit arrived!. I have a HOy Shizuoka 003 and when setting the system up the axle was 1mm too big. A contact to customer service and a prompt response (along with video tutorials) about how to correctly alter the size of the axle was sent to me. Iw as given the option of sending back the wheel at no extra cost (just extra time). Putting the wheel on and then finally setting it all up was easy. The instructions very clear and easy to follow. By being methodical and taking care, the kit was installed quickly. The first ride was a hoot. Of course I put the setting on max and was literally whooping with delight as I hurtled round my local estate! I have since learned how to ride with the switch to ensure I manage my power settings. I bought the kit (at good value in my mind) to help me commute from my town to my nearest city (Milton Keynes) and take advantage of the co-working spaces available. The Swytch kit allows me to ride in but not exhaust myself up the hills to get there. From my experience, I only use the first power setting as it is like a gentle push. The full power version is proper fun but does use the power quickly. Your journey length, hills and your own weight has an impact on the battery output- take some time to understand this and you will get the best out of your Swytch Kit. For me, this is a power assist item - perhaps with a bigger battery I could use it as full electric bike - and having had it for a couple of months it has brought about a renewed joy of riding.

I ordered a bigger capacity swytch set to install on my city bike, I had been biking to my work in Paris already some time, it is ok in the autumn and winter, but with spring and summer coming up, i was looking for a way to avoid sweaty arrivals at work. Having recently bought a brand new conventional bike, I did not want to purchase a new electric bike. The kit arrived with a small delay, i have to admit thag installation was a bit of a challenge for me. I would have loved to have option to bring my bike somewhere for installation if swytch had a network. But patently I went ahead and managed to install it in 2 sessions a week apart. For me aligning the magnet ring and pedal sensor was the toughest part. Once the kit is installed, it is really great. Range is around 80% of what it is claimed to be, but it is acceptable for me. If I had to do it over again, I would go for the handlebar attached controller/accelerator switch. If you want to have a slightly cheaper access to electrified riding, then this could be it for you.

In short, I love it but it also has its faults. 1) The ordering process it's a bit annoying because I waited maybe like 8 months since initial sign up. On the other hand I was cheap and wanted it to cost as little as possible so had to wait. During that time the status order page works fine so more or less you know what's going on. In that 8 months was also 1 month delay due to supply chain issues. Again maybe if I did not cheap out it would come sooner. 2) Installation, fairly easy, the most tricky part is the magnetic disc for PAS pedal sensor which seems a bit flimsy but to be fair due to all bike types configurations it is very difficult to make one that would fit to most bikes so in that case they did a good job. 3) Ride experience - totally awesome. I bought it for daily commute to work (14km) so that I can ditch a car. Mission accomplished, the ride time is slightly faster than me on my other racing road bike plus no need for shower so it was totally worth it. I put it on hybrid bike 28" with 1,25" tires and it can easily do claimed range of 30km (I used support level 2) however of course lots of things can influence that (like headwind, your clothes - baggy clothes vs tight areo clothing, type of tires etc.). You can get other conversion kits but what I like about swytch is that it's nicely integrated and the bike does not really look like ebike. There are many chinese kits that have battery, motor controller, display - different parts that all have to be put on the bike, in the end it looks like a mess with tons of cables. So far I did 250km without any issues. One negative point, the battery itself has charge indicator but it's useless. Even if the battery is completely empty it still lights up 2 out of 5 LEDs. The battery level on the OLED display is much more reliable. Not sure if this is issue with my battery or general problem. My recommendation is to go with the bigger battery range (30 km and not 15km), get extra OLED display and break sensors.

Two kits in my household are both totally unreliable despite several changes of components. Both pedal sensors have failed so thumb throttles were purchased. These worked for a short period, then only intermittently and now both have failed. These kits are a complete waste of money.

Brilliant. Very fast and responsive. Only downside is it kicks in once you have started pedalling which means a standstill start on some hills can be impossible and you end up having to push it up the hill until you find somewhere flat enough to gain momentum.

Very impressed at the simplicity of installation but made a little difficult on my 20+ year old bike. I bought swytch as a trial of EB's and am now a convert. May buy a new EB in the future. but meanwhile enjoying my swytch experience and will probably order a 20 mile capable battery soon

This kit was exactly what I was looking for and is helping me enjoy cycling significantly more while still getting a great workout. The order process was easy and when I had some issues with sizing customer service was extremely prompt and helpful. The delivery time was long but totally expected because I pre-ordered. I highly recommend the Swytch kit to anyone, but especially to people who may feel that they're too old or out of shape to get back into cycling. One of the best purchases I have ever made for myself!

Great work. Would be even better if the support level of the engine could be reduced further.

The delivery process was a bit cumbersome, but once I received the kit the install was straight forward and the documentation extremely clear. I love my new Swytch-powered bike!

The Swytch kit is excellent. Well designed, well made and easy to fit. It has performed as expected, indeed I haven't really managed to discover its full capabilties yet (range and so on) as I haven't had it long enough! It's something that should be an option for all bike and bikers that need it - to extend their life and enhance their ride. It's a pity the same principle can't easily be applied to ICE cars! Customer service has been great too, with all my questions answered promptly.

I bought the Air battery and wheel with standard controller. After the quite lengthey wait it turned up the day before Christmas which was very nice. Installing took about 3 to 4 hours but all went very smoothly and within a day I was zooming around. I bought the Swytch specifically to ride my bike to the station which is around 2.5 miles. The journey there is mostly downhill but of course coming back is the killer, basically uphill all the way. After a day at work this is not very appealing to try and ride back on. The Swytch has changed all that. Once I had worked out that just having it on full all time is pointless as it really does kill the battery quickly, I have found the perfect balance of assist for what is a pretty old heavy bike. I redid the PAS sensor after a month or so and found taking the time to align it properly made a massive difference to performance as well. I have invested in a really good lock for the wheel and a separate one for the frame and being on a slightly crappy frame should hopefully fool the thieves. The small battery is then perfect to just slide in my bag with the controller. I love it. I generally was driving before this so I get more exercise, help the environment and have great fun doing it. VV Happy.

Simple concept, pretty good implementation. There are glitches but being able to keep you old bike and go electric outweighs them all
