The bike is powerful even on P1. Fitting was a bit fiddly and have done 1 star less than 5 as the sensor for the pedal is a glue on and cable ties as had to cut off the loops to fit so feels not a solid lasting system but can see the new version this has been overcome on the design but overall feels good.

After my initial problems with handlebar battery connectors, I have been very pleased with the entire kit on all three of my bicycles. The batteries have out performed the distances indicated and the speeds are as specified. My only critique is that you have not informed me as to how I can transition from my old batteries to the new batteries as the old begins to lose their efficiency, i.e. on shorter rides use the old and longer rides use the new. Can you please advise me of how to manage this transition. I have attached photos of one of my current applications. Thank you.

Like the simple design and performance. Customer service is inconsistent. Great and poor. Too many shipment errors: Wrong item sent or missing parts.

We’ve had our Swytch kits for 4 years now. The one issue we had after a couple of years was promptly resolved by the Swytch Team. We like our light weight bicycles as opposed to a heavy e-bike and were happy to be able to convert them! The peddle assist allows us to go further and a bit faster while still allowing us to get the exercise we desire. We are very happy with our choice to go with Swytch!

Added this to my Trek 400 hybrid and it does what is needed for my wife who really didn't like hills. Even at the lowest power, it works great for those gradual, but long uphill inclines. The only downside is that the battery weight on the handlebars does make the handling a lot different, plus the added weight is never a plus. Still like it a lot and far less costly than a new electric bike.

Solid product well designed solution which has proven 97% reliable over the past session of around 1000 km. Ordering times for accessories etc could still be improved as this is one of the more premium & costly electric bicycle conversion kits on the market.

I already had an ebike for two years but found it pretty heavy at about 60 lbs. so wanted to see if this system was better. At one third of the cost and putting it on my lightweight urban bike I am now going to sell my first ebike. Positives: the assembly was pretty straightforward and it all worked right away. The sensor is very sensitive. I was concerned that maybe I should have gone with the throttle like on my other ebike but I don't need it. The combination of light weight and sensitivity works great. It is very fast and powerful. Negatives: installing the front wheel was tricky. It was a very tight fit. The sensor parts seem very flimsy. I am concerned about how long that unit will last. My next concern is about theft. Having just had another bike stolen I am worried about how easy it would be to steal the battery. I know I can open the three velcro straps and unplug it, but if I am just in a shop for five minutes I don't think I would do that. I have added black masking tape as a deterrent. The electrical wiring was long so I ended up with loops which does not look that elegant. These negatives are all pretty minor. Overall I am extremely pleased with the assembly and how it all works. So much so that I choose it over my existing ebike. All the usual positives apply as with any other ebike: I ride a bike more, use a car less. It flattens out hills and makes riding a bike so much fun.

A fairly good enough experience. Customer service was a little slow and uncommunicative at times, but did eventually solve the problems I had. I would say that the ebike conversion kit seems a little expensive for something that's supposed to be affordable, but still cheaper than a new ebike. Delivery was on time.

The kit worked first time. As a 77 year old I was aware that I was not using my Brompton as much as I used to. Having an electric motor to assist hill-climbing and longer rides has encouraged me to use the bike more. On the down-side, I was disappointed with what I perceive to be the poor quality of the multi-pin connectors. I should say that before retiring I was for over 30 years an experimental scientist (who designed novel electronic equipment) with experience of how penny-pinching on connectors can get one into trouble. I wonder if Swytch has changed its connector supplier recently. If the connectors fail I will expect free replacements.

I like that I can take the battery of for easy charging and can move the kit to a new bike if I want to. Since adding the kit I have cycled much more than I was doing before. I do wish that I had received paper instructions for set up, it would have made things easier.

Really good kit (flatten out hills) and simple to fit. The sensor can be a bit tricky if the bike frame is particularly thick.

I love it. It's so quick to respond when you start pedalling and really takes the effort out of climbing steep hills.

the swytch conversion for this two wheeler: a 1985 panasonic 21 speed, with 27 inch wheels, was completed maybe 9 months after placing the order. very long lead time to get the kit, including a few delay notifications. it appears that components were shipped in two packages from different supply centers. the pricing seamed to be fair given any other alternatives for an on-line order of chinese components for a diy build. not knowing the cable lengths required and the exact battery placement, the longer cable length was selected. however, the cable for the on/off and speed selector to be located on the handlebars, was about 6 inches short to make a neat and tidy install on this bike. the battery was mounted on a third party front fork package carrier while the cabling was packages into a third party gear bag to adhere to the bike frame. The power wheel replacing the front wheel is only 250 watts on this build. it does provide a medium boost for uphill riding and with the control system, is only powered when the pedal crank is rotating forward. so when coasting, the front wheel actually induces drag and slows the bike down quicker than a non powered front wheel. the bike tires were upgraded from a width of 1.75 inch (4.45 cm) to 1.95 inch (4.95 cm), providing better tread for smooth and rough road surfaces. this bike has a three gear crank, and the swytch boost is proportional to the crank rotation, there is a "learning curve" to understand and realize the "boost" effect during varying grades surfaces of roads and trails using the three gear selections. one issue that was not really understood when placing the order for the kit, the kick stand mounded astern of the crank had to be replaced because of interference with the kit supplied crank sensor. kick stand was replaced with with a rear frame mount unit. spend an additional $100 to complete this build: new tires, rack, cable pack and kick stand. over all, a reasonable kit to upgrade this older bike.

6 months waiting time for anything is too much. The button on the battery needs a sign that it is an on/off button. The electric motor starts working again at 19km/h-ish after switching off when reaching max speed. Not convenient.Need faster response. Other than that, it's ok.

I bought the Swytch kit Air for my Brompton and am very happy. The autonomy is inline or better than indicated. The system is very powerful and I rarely you more than level 2 out of 5 of assistance. It is not ideal for the Brompton as when you fold it it is either on the outside or you have to increase the angle of the folding mechanism, in short it takes more space. It would have been great to add a USB-C port for charging the battery and to use it as a power bank for other devices.

I would like to start by saying I like this product. The extensive delivery delays not withstanding The kit was well packaged and most items were labelled and easy to identify. Unfortunately there was no instructions booklet in the box and my phone had issues with the qr codes of the installation videos. Removing and refitting the tyre was easy with a couple of tyre levers. Fitting the new motor wheel was also straightforward. Battery mount is velcro and the leads are colour coded. Fitting the pedal sensor was a challenge but this was down to the shape of the frame (Carrera crossfire 3). A quick search on YouTube showed me how to change kph to mph and how to enter the menu on the display. I haven't done a distance test yet but ad it's the Go+ it should be ample for my commute to work.

The kit was fairly easy to mount in the bike. The pedal sensor seems a bit flimsy especially the magnetic pickup. The directions for the “Air” kit wiring and hookups do not match the “Go” battery wires and connections. The wire management suggestions were no existent so I just used the included zip ties as needed. I do not know if they are all in the best place in the long run. My initial test run of less than a mile was successful and the kit had plenty of power on level 1. I think this is a good kit to try an e-bike experience to see if you like power biking.
