it took a long time between order and delivery installation was pretty-straightforward works pretty well, but would like to see a mounting option that lowers the battery for better balance customer service promised rebate of shipping cost, but that never happened

My big complaint with Swytchbike is the lack of backwards compatability. In short, you buy a Swytchbike today, but 3 years from now, you can't get parts or even worse, their entire model format has changed. For example, the original batteries from Swytchbike, sold several years ago, are no longer supported. So what am I supposed to do with them? I can't buy an extra battery - they're no longer making them. In fact, the only course of action is to replace the entire power module (battery and battery mount on the handlebar). This is not very consumer friendly. I don't expect my e-bike to be outdated within a year or two by its own manufacturer. But mine was. The hardware Swytchbike makes is unique to Swytchbike. When it's outdated, it becomes trash. Very disappointing.

easy to apply and nice to drive. unfortunately the promised kilometers you can drive with a battery are an illusion and once the display decides that the battery should be empty it is much harder to ride than without the kit.

Easy conversation I have converted my 40 year old Pedersen bike. Everything was working out of the box. šŸ‘

The first generation kit has served me well; it's fitted on my Sun recumbent. Micah Toll actually messaged me directly to give a thumbs up to Swytch as I impatiently awaited delivery. Referred a friend who then purchased the new version. Get good exercise with my old school kit. Would like a bit more power (350w?) for climbing hills and general transport (my bike is heavy and I'm getting older). I won't purchase the lighter battery until the two I have expire. Don't improve the concept. Improve the engineering and quality of equipment. Better bms, battery life, displays, etc. Lighter, longer lasting. Better customer service needed, apparently. The super ebikes on the road now are a problem (overengineered) because they are basically mopeds- good for deliverers, but being raced around recklessly by affluent kids. (Swytch should develop a rear mount, box crate kit for small front wheel drive autos. Electric transaxle, 20kwh battery for a basic hybrid. Too simple; probably too smart.) Hope Swytch is surviving the glut of ebike competition. Good niche. peace m james in Albany CA

Have had issues since I purchased the product and its been impossible to get a hold of someone and get an actual resolution. They claim they will send the product replacement in the mail and months later it never comes.

I really like the wheel and ease of setup. All is good...except they quit making the battery I have and so couldn't buy backup battery, so have used backup power batteries to extend my miles by plugging in my charger as I ride. I did break down and buy the new big battery that hangs from from frame and just switch the plugs when one battery runs out...

Battery capacity and riding range very good. The only problem is with compatibility of the 27 x 1.25 tire on the rare 650 rim which I got from Swytch. It is difficult to get a good quality, durable tire for such rim. To improve comfort of riding, I need a softer and wider (29" ) high performance tire, for which I will have to replace and rework the rim.

Great kit to electrify my favorite bike. However, after two years the battery isnā€™t lasting as long. I have it charging all winter, too.

Very pleased in all aspects and enjoyed the build which was just as expected. Bit of a snag initially with pedal assist sensor but customer service helped me through it. Have just bought a second battery but due to family issues have done little riding recently. Performance is better than I expected and can ride up hills now at 77 that I could not at 27! p

This makes biking infinitely more fun and easier. I really love this and even got the bigger battery. I bike more now than I ever did. Itā€™s totally worth it. However, itā€™s not perfect. The batter display and the actual lights on the battery vary greatly in how much battery life is left, which I find really confusing. The battery itself shows lots of range but the display says itā€™s almost empty and itā€™ll die, but the battery says thereā€™s still lots of lifeā€¦ I also found that the battery (15km range one) is starting to die before 15km and Iā€™ve only really used it for one season. My display also died just after 1 year, like weeks after, and I had to pay for a new one.

I have the first version. There were problems with the battery pack (the motor only worked intermittently, which is not nice in a hilly area) but customer support was very rapid and helpful and eventually sent me a new pack. After that I was a happy user for years. But now it doesn't work any more, first because folding and unfolding my Brompton led to damage to the cables and just recently my bike got flooded so the motor stopped working altogether. But I think I'll just order a new kit.

It's a great little do it your self kit for someone that likes putting it on their bike of choice. Only criticism is battery only lasted a tad over a year and was not honored for warranty replacement. Got a battery with twice the power for half the cost on Amazon.

I am a first generation adopter (2020) and the system is generally wonderful. Ive upgraded to the Max Battery system. I love my touring bike and I can remove the battery if I want a 'normal' light-weight ride. I also have an off-road bike fitted with the same system. For my daughter's bike I arranged for a mounting clip on the down tube for the battery to keep the centre of gravity lower. She says this has worked well. The customer support was not good in the early days but I think that has gradually improved over time. I'd say steer clear of the Air Battery. it may be suitable for carrying on an aircraft but otherwise pretty useless. I also hated the enhanced switcher since rather than switching up and down through the power ranges, it was cylclic ie you have to go up to level 5 before you can get back to level 1. Stupid Design. I gave mine back to the shop!

So we have two Swytch Bikes. they both work exceptionally well and we are very happy. my only complaint is I wish the battery did not have to be mounted on the handle bars. We have the very first version and the battery on the handle bars makes it unsteady on the side stand. so a set of extension cables for the wiring to mount the Battery some where else would be super appreciated. all in all though it is a great product. when you already have your favorite bike but wish it had a little power on the hills the Swytch bike is so easy to assemble and painless this is the answer. I had to deal with customer service a lot on my order with a warranty problem and the people and response was very good.

I have the original kit. All went well for over two years until I had some issues that customer support fixed after a couple of replacement parts sent. It was just out of warranty so very impressed with the service. However itā€™s now cutting out on me every ride after a mile or so. I suspect itā€™s the battery pack which, though a few years old, hasnā€™t done many miles as itā€™s my ā€˜pub bikeā€™. Iā€™d like to just replace it with a newer pack and controller but every time I look I canā€™t work out what I need to order as there are a number of options now. Mainly laziness on my part Iā€™ll admit. Loved the product for the first few years though.

My wife and I stopped cycling for 20 years. We resumed riding during the pandemic for fitness until I developed a tear in my meniscus. Adding the Swytch kit to both of our bikes enabled us to resume cycling again. It was easy to add the kit and maintain it. So much less expensive that buying an electric bike outright. We've been happy with them since.
