Negative bits first. I waited from Oct 23 when I ordered and paid until Jul 24 for my kit to arrive. Much longer than I expected. When it did arrive there were no cable ties in the kit to attach the cables to the bike frame. The kit itself was easy to fit (using my own cable ties) apart from the sensor on the crank which I got my local bike shop to do (they did it for free). The kit performs really well, better than I expected. You can actually feel the bike accelerate, even on low power settings and it climbs hill really well.

I love it now it's fitted but it didn't come with a pedal sensor. And it's still hard work up hills.

This was my upgrade battery to the Goplus battery having previously had the AirMax battery. The battery is better from a capacity point of view, but they have altered the control software on this unit. It's no where as responsive and smooth as the original Airmax was. If you have never had the previous hardware you probably wouldn't know and think it's great. I have been riding my previous swytch conversion for a number of years so can feel the differences. It's typical of a company tweaking and messing with stuff, probably in a bid to maximise profits at the customers expense. I will adapt but will never be 100% happy with this. 3 Stars for the above mentioned, plus late delivery, 6 months waiting time when you pre order and emails near delivery date telling you to hang on longer, when I can buy from amazon with a week's delivery. Again money rules, the pre order saves you some money, but customer service goes out the window once they have your cash.

I like the idea of swytch but the customer proposition and interface is extremely poor. It’s if it is continuous in start up mode - purchased a extra charger bank - hundreds of pounds came with no charging plug transformer just plain annoying

Customer service could be better: queries were eventually resolved but the response time was slow, and there is no phone number so the only method of contact is online via the website. After paying for my order, I had to wait several months for delivery, and the order tracking information on the website is ambiguous to say the least. Payment should not be taken until orders are ready for dispatch.

Good on the whole, but we’ve found that battery can come out of mounting and fall off the bike going over bumps. Needs to be strapped on with something. Luckily the battery still works

Really excellent product. Only downside is that the seperate speed / battery indicator on the bandlebars is often different to what shows on the actual battery and can be confusing.

Installation is definitely a faff. I ordered the OLED display which will fit only 22mm tubes max. Like most bikes my handlebars are much thicker and the gear/brake shifter assembly leaves no room at the narrow end. This is a design failing so check yours before ordering one. I will have to fabricate some kind of workaround. The installation pictures all involve old school bikes with quill stems, thin handlebars and simple steel frames which I'm sure is quite unlike the type most buyers will have. As I have a carbon front fork I also ordered the universal torque arm which apart from meaningless instructions is too thick to allow enough axle thread for the end nut and so will be returned. So definitely more than 2 hours fitting time for me.

I was very pleased to receive my Swytch kit, but think a 6 month wait is a bit on the long side. Installation was relatively simple, and initially the kit worked well. After about 6 months I started to notice that the power drops out intermittently, which is extremely annoying. Also the battery which is the biggest available does not last more than 25km before needing to be re-charged. I convinced my wife to buy one as well, and had the same problem, the power cuts in and out, and of course you notice it most when it is needed the most! For my kit, I received support by email, which was prompt and friendly, but has only improved the problem slightly, not cured.

I did enjoy my Swytch Bike because I was able to keep my everyday bike with a little extra kick. But my experience wasn’t great whist I partly stopped cycling shortly after buying, some of that was down to the hassle of the kit and because I changed job. It took me hours to install as quite fiddly and certain parts have to be highly aligned, which became harder as my bike (Specalized) had a thick drop tube that impacted the positioning of the pedal sensor (there may be a different sensor available now). This made for a ride where if the awkward alignment was out the motor would pulse with power and off putting, combined with the juddering brakes which was due to the Swytch (heavy battery), I didn’t often use it. There were also a few equipment failures that were very well handled by customer service, who I can’t fault even when I had ignored the problem for sometime and was embarrassed approaching them. I know the battery is smaller and lighter now and I reckon if your bike is suitable then it’s a great buy. I certainly don’t regret it, as it was a great introduction to electric bikes and made me realise I was happy to buy an out and out electric bike but maybe I should have done that first.

I considered its purchase for a long time as the cost was more than I could afford at the time. When I took delivery I was unhappy with the weight, it was far heftier than I expected. Sadly on the very next release, just a short while later, Swytch came out with the mobile phone sized/weight power bank. It was too late by then for me. I tried the heavier power source twice in total and haven’t used it since due to the weight. I was given the chance to buy the newer model but I was out of money by then. I feel it was a waste for me because I had wanted the convenience of the lighter/smaller model

Having cycled for over 70 years, but now suffering from chronic lung problems, I was anxious to find a way to carry on using a bike, especially in windy weather. The Swytch kit fits the bill and, fitted to a Ridgeback Avenida with a 3 speed hub gear, makes for an enjoyable ride. The fit looks a a bit "Heath Robinson" but that is inevitable when looking for a solution to retro fit so many types of bike. The only down side is that the lights on the controller have already stopped working, although the on switch and motor still function. i had already found the switch a bit "spongy" and slow to react. I'm hoping that after service is not as bad as many of the online comments suggest! Disappointing that this fault has developed to mar an otherwise positive experience.

Regular contact from Swytch whilst awaiting on schedule delivery. Fitting of components not as straightforward as videos suggest - modification required to pedal sensor to fit onto bike frame. Good on line response to installation queries. In operation there is a discrepancy between battery charge indication and controller / display indication. Despite having the MAX battery the range is far less than expected particularly when operated at minimum setting. Also, assistance cuts out and is intermittent when battery indicator shows three lights or less.

Once installed it proved a great product, installing it was not as straight forward as suggested. despite having a fairly main stream Boardman bike, few of the parts fitted. The wheel axle was to big requiring the fork to be fettled. The bracket for the handlebar did not cater for the one piece bar/stem, so had to be "adjusted", the magnet ring would not fit the crank arm so had to be be "reshaped" in order to fit, likewise the sensor bracket. If you are technically able, not an unsurmountable issue, if not, I would have been returning the kit. However, once on, it is a great bit of kit, that has transformed the riding experience for my wife, now it is me struggling to keep up !

I wish I'd bought a bigger battery. I have to get up a hill on my way home the reason why I bought it and it drains it quickly. Also the battery states 1 thing and the display states another. They don't match up. Otherwise was easy to fit and great on the flat.

Ordering and delivery took a very long time On a big hill the battery drain is immediate and sometimes drops to 2 bars but does 'recover' over time Extra £50 for a black wheel - never paid a premium for a black wheel before Range claimed to be 20miles but this is very questionable Discrepancy between battery life on handlebar display and LED's on battery System is heavy, despite claims to the contrary - Have been spending more time on my normal (non-electrified) bike Whilst it achieves the desired result, expectations were high based on the PR from Swytch, but these expectations were a little deflated once used a few times - Swytch should have been more transparent during ordering Some items described in the instructions not possible with kit

For the most part, I like my swytch bike very much. It was of course a long wait to get it. It was fairly easy to assemble and does exactly what I was hoping for against the wind, up hills, etc. however, I am very disappointed in battery life, I’m lucky if I can get 6 miles out of a charge. And from what I see a second battery is quite expensive.

Fitted to a brompton. Easy (ish) to fit, and easy to use. Battery charge lasts about 35 mins on 5 Slow to charge - wish there was more of a % full bar. As the battery drops (1 day of use) the top speed drops. If you want to pedal faster than 18mph you can feel the "system drag". If you have the unit switched off there is significant additional drag from the front wheel. Love the unit, but would love to get rid of the drag as it means I have the unit on slightly more than I want to.
