The Switch kit is fantastic, once installed, but I didn't find it quite as simple to install as other reviews suggest. In addition, none of the manuals on the internet gave specific information about the battery supplied with my kit. However, is well worth the effort of installation because you save a great deal of money and the motorised bike is now a viable alternative to the car for fairly short trips in the hilly part of the country where I live.

I have a Giant Escape bicycle and I love the bike. I'm in my seventy's and I was looking for a little help on a head winds and hills. I added the Swytch bike kit with the Go+ locking battery to my bike. Watching the on line video really helped with the installation. It does exactly what I was looking for! I can't believe how much fun riding is now. It was worth the wait. They kept me informed each week and told me when it would be delivered. I'm very happy.

Pleased with the concept of converting an existing bike to an e-bike. I paid a bike mechanic to do it. Early on, we started having issues with the control unit/battery delivering consistent power to the powered wheel. Erratic Power delivery would usually start at about the 60% power level remaining in the battery. The customer service was usually very good, especially with us being thousands of miles apart! Swytch did end up replacing the power unit after having me try several different things. Looking back, I think that part of the issue is a slightly underpowered charging unit for the battery packs as I have since started using a charging unit designed for an Aventon e- bike.(with very close supervision!) And both battery packs seem to more fully charge and the power delivery is spot on clear down to below 40%.

I ordered a Swytch kit Air about a year ago. Took about 4 weeks to get delivered to Australia. I asked a few clarification questions before finalising the order and they were answered promptly. Install was straightforward enough but getting the pedal sensor mounted was the most difficult and cable ties and double sided tape was never going to be a reliable solution. Removing the pedal arm and securing to the crank was a much better and more permanent solution. It’s been working trouble free since mounted this way. Riding experience is very good although the Air battery will only last over 10kms if used on the lowest assist and you don’t encounter too many hills. Hills and higher assist levels will chew up battery a lot faster. Turning on/off the power as required conserves power for when you need it. Overall it suits my style and capabilities 100%.

I purchased the first generation Swytch wheel for my wife. I would give you a five star review for the product that was delivered, the ease of installation and performance. But..... my wife underwent medical treatment which prohibited her from using the bike for a year. When we tried to charge the battery after that year, it would no longer charge. I contacted Swytch about this matter. They were courteous but basically said, all batteries fail. For the time the battery was used together with the time the battery sat, I am just not sure the performance of the dead battery is up to the performance of Swytch. A bit disappointing.

the bike wheel is good the trimmings are made of cheap plastic. the delivery time is a bad joke and customer services is non-existent. my advice is buy one second hand and have nothing to do with the Swytch company

I am enjoying my Swytch bike kit. I installed it myself, which most folks with some mechanical skills can do also. It worked, and continues to work, flawlessly after 3 years of use. I also installed one on my wife’s bicycle, but she rarely rides anymore. (We are both 76 years old) One of the batteries has deteriorated to the point that it only will charge to about 60%. I’m not unhappy about that, as I know frequent charging/discharging are hard on these batteries. I have ordered a replacement battery ( the new style) and I hope these last longer. The only thing I was not satisfied with was the weight of the original battery. They were fairly heavy, and I didn’t care for that. Removing the battery when parking the bike somewhere that wasn’t our home, and carrying them around was cumbersome. That being said, I believe the new style batteries should be more dependable and lighter. For the price of the kit, and if you have a quality bicycle you like, this kit has everything you need to make your regular bike a E-bike.

The Swytch bike kit installed on my 1974 Raleigh International serves my purposes by adding about 3 MPH to my daily morning bicycle outing. I like the assist provided mostly while battling head winds and to some extent while ascending hills. The only part about the Swytch kit that disappoints is the lack of range of the batteries provided with the kit.

I have a 1st generation battery and wheel. I always had a slight jittering issue. The new battery system eliminated that issue. Everything works great. Thanks for a fun and wonderful product.

Overall I like the Swytch system. It is not that easy to install as the front axle is just marginally larger than some dropouts and the Go battery is huge and very heavy. I could not fit this in my wife's walkthrough bike. The Air that I have on my bike had to be swopped with the Go to enable a battery fitment on both bikes. It is however much more inexpensive than a new bike and lighter overall. And the operation is simple and effective and kicks out descent power. For shopping and commuting it is ideal and eases laden bikes full of groceries! An option to buy a standard rear dynohub would be a good idea since this could be built around any bike and the weight would be more evenly distributed. Delivery on both orders was delayed.

It is a great way to electrify my bike and it works well. The reason for four instead of five stars is because I originally bought version 1 and it finally gave up the ghost. When I contacted Swytch, as the problem got worse, about what might be wrong I got very little help beyond 'do some tests'. What would have been more helpful is somewhere I could have sent the kit to be tested by Swytch engineers - I would have paid for this if necessary. Now I have some spare kit with no idea which bits work and which bits are broken; what a waste.

Quite simply to fit but found sensor quite temper mental to fit and can easily move when going over rough road surfaces. Battery pack for the Go is heavier than I thought it would be and glad I did not go for a more powerful one. it works well for me as mostly use only to go up hills and it does not effect the bike when turned off. Have filled in 2 preliminary registration forms on line but still have not had a reply to confirm warranty.

I upgraded and I've not long received my Go++, (after around 2 month delay) but in the few weeks I have had it.. I would say the performance is a bit Meh. It arrived just in time realistically as my Air max battery was starting to struggle with holding its capacity. After 3 years of nearly daily use and charging it was almost time to consider replacing the battery. I had the Max Air previous, and while it's nice not to have the block on the handle bar, the Go++ is an almighty chunk of a block that you attach to your frame. Seriously you need a Motor just to carry it.. there's got to be lighter materials for a battery... The plus side is I don't have to worry about charging it up everyday, if I forget then it's got plenty of charge. I only use the bike when I'm commuting to and from work which is about 6/7 miles per day, and I've used perhaps 1/3 of the charge on the battery after 2 days. The straps that attach it to the frame are again fairly straight forward but not the best if you wear gloves, one of the pluses of the Air was it was simple to connect and secure with or without gloves. Biggest issue with the UK kit (and I think Spain as well) is the local speed restrictions. The Go++ is internally restricted to 25kph (15.5mph), theres stickers attached to the battery when you first get it, obviously there's at least 2 different versions of the same battery, and aside from an occasional push to 18mph it then throttles the speed whilst your peddling*. Its almost like it applies a whole lot of extra weight to slow you down (presumably the electromagnet in the motor). * It doesn't apply when your freewheeling I have found that cycling in 15th Gear means I'm largely in that sweet spot where I'm cycling slow enough that the motor doesn't slow me down and I don't have to work to hard. 18th and 21st gears causes vibrations in the motor, where it's a fight between the restriction and the motor to go faster which causes an interesting sensation. Oh and one of the negatives is that in this particular model they haven't changed the connection to the USB-C like they have with the recent redesign to the Air max. So you have to use the charger and plug that they provide. It will likely be the last one I buy for a while, at least until some new battery materials become available and it becomes lighter and holds a longer charge and range.

I’m happy with my Go kit, but with 2 reservations. Firstly even with the legal requirements the thumb throttle needs to be able to offer meaningful assistance to move away from rest and secondly a black rim option for my kit needs to be available to order. Swytch need to up their game and listen to their loyal customers.

I have rated as 3 stars. This is because I was not happy with the delivery being put back time and again after prepayment in full. I would have thought that prepayment should have ensured that the delivery times first promised would be kept. Communication was not the best with the Swytch bike reps slow to respond. The equipment was well packaged and arrived in a good state. The kit was relatively straightforward to install, I do have a good mechanical and electrical skill level but others may struggle. I havent tried out the bike other than up and down the road to test but it does seem to perform well and as expected. For some of the attachments, the provided tie wraps weren't large enough for my bike frame. Overall, a good product, priced about right but Swytch Bike MUST improve customer service after order and improve communication with the customer.

I recently purchased a new battery pack. Delivery was 2 months late, given you pay upfront you can’t change your mind. Retrofitting the battery to the existing cable was very difficult. The connection is flimsy and could do with redesigning. Despite the above the performance is good.
