I was really excited when my swytch bike came in the mail! It was super easy to put together and everything came just as I ordered it. However I did run into a few problems. At first none of my local sport stores could find the proper inner tube and tire for the wheel. And after going to what seemed like 3 different stores, I finally went to a specialty bike shop and I did find what I needed. Secondly the instructions did mention to initially charge the battery which I did. But, after about 4 rides I did notice the battery not lasting as long. I am hoping this battery isn’t second hand or anything. Maybe damaged or something? Really, I feel that I am not getting the correct distance which was advertised for this battery. And for being brand new, right? Besides that, I think this product is a fantastic addition to my bike. My daughter loves the idea of an ebike. She wants to get one too one day. We’ll see. She’s only 5.

I'm a Bikeability instructor and use my bike for work, unfortunately my lower back was injured in an accident so steep hills can agreviate it. So Swytching my bike up has been a godsend to help me get to and from work & do my job on bad days. It also means that my bike stays light enough to be easily transport by car to different areas. I bought 2 batteries, a large 1 to get to and from work and a small 1 to use all day when teaching. I like the fact that I can switch off the power to do slow demonstrations and the bike is still light and easy to pedal. I waited to buy by using the promo email to reduce cost. It was easy to assemble the Swytch changes to my bike with clear instructions and videos.

Received a 'promo' email from Swytch with details of their products relating to Brompton Cycles.. the list contained a battery 'bracket' that replaces the 'bag bracket' on the headstock ... this means the battery is re-located from the handlebars to the headstock. Whow !! what a difference.. the weight is moved from the high up position that impacts the steering function... to way down low .. lowering the centre of gravity. Back to normal bike handling... this is a great improvement. ( had to remove the front light reflector ... no probs .. battery pack has a light built in... no Brompton bag .. I use a light weight rucksack .. all good !! )

I have bee able to draw some joy from having these kits. But will you I've had many problems mainly setting up the sensors on Bromptons. One of the first kits the wheel broke down but shortly after the warranty expired so I ended up having to by from you a new one which took months to arrive, the new one I received was too wide and ended up breaking my titanium fork on my Brompton, overall a disaster quite unfair for someone that actually purchased already two sets of kits one for my wife and me. I would never recommend the kit to someone like me, those who can hack it and make adaptations to it to make them work decently can be well off with it. After riding an ARCC Brompton recently in Cambridge and talking to their staff I now know what a truly well set up e bike conversion company should look like and how well designed their products should be expected to be, and clearly I'm not talking about Swytch.

I’ve been using bike all Summer and I’m really pleased with the conversion, a great help as I live on a steep hill and setting off with cold muscles was getting difficult for me. Customer service advised me on the Shimano PAS which is a very neat and tidy fitting, but I did need to buy the correct crank remover from a local bike shop at £18.. The kit turned up ahead of the forecast date, Conversion was easy, the front end of bike is a little heavier but not detrimental to the bike handling and means that my lovely bike has a new lease of life. 5 stars for Swytch!!

Works great after setting it up. Was difficult to get the sensor in place as my bike had too thick of a beam to place it on. After a lot of testing and adjustments it works and has worked since. I wish I had bought the upgraded battery, but other than that it is a good product!

I cannot recommend this product (Brompton kit). Too much drag on the hub wheel means that the bike turns into dead weight as soon as the battery is empty. I've gone back to the regular wheel and the kit is gathering dust.

The sensor coupling around the pedal is not stable. I have to constantly move the magnet / round contraption to get closer otherwise the pedal movement is not captured and the power doesn't kickin.

We have two Swytch kits on bikes already and thoroughly enjoy them . When things go wrong some of the customer service agents are utterly useless but luckily others are excellent. The delivery time has never been respected and both arrived over a month late. The third Swytch kit arrived over 2 weeks ago without it's battery and we are still waiting - customer services said it would be sent out asap , I just hope that doesn't mean months. As tothe functioning of the kit the recurrent problem is the pedal sensor getting knocked when the bikes are stored against each other or on a car bike rack, 1mm makes the difference between go and no !

Kit was reasonably easy to fit, but some of the instructions were for other versions, different battery etc. and not clear on the crank fittingdifferences. Also, I now have unused connections for brakes & throttle, which I think should be provided with caps to close them up. Display does not have any variability in the fitting size - handlebars on my bike too large diameter tube, so I had to wire display in place. Overall though, very happy so far!

Silly me, but the new battery is not fitting in any way on a ladies bike... so in fact I can not install it. In fact, the large and quite fragile plug is hindering.

Functionally speaking, the kit performs very well. The controller is set up with five assist levels which kick in gradually, notwithstanding the sensor is a pedal sensor, not a torque sensor. Switching assist levels with the simple GO controller is smoother and easier than switching ordinary gears. Assembly did not present undue difficulty as long as care and time were taken. The magnetic sensor mechanism and new wheel went on without trouble. The biggest problem was in dressing the wiring harness. Swytch should try to figure out how to provide harnesses in varying, or short-but-extendible lengths. Basically, no matter what method of wire mounting in used, all of that thick black wire looks terrible, whether wound up, taped over, or whatever. Swytch should warn users of the brake sensors that their use requires exposing a portion of the interior cables, which means removing the cable, cutting the casing, and re-tipping the cables. This was all too much trouble so I have the sensors but am not using them. Packaging of the shipment was excellent, no damage was found, and no components were missing. Time between order and delivery, however, was several months. Customer service was quickly responsive to complaints about delivery time, and questions about assembly. At the price I paid, the kit was good value at the time I ordered it; but as time goes on and ebike components become cheaper, Swytch will have to follow along.

Product is fine, but the “Sale 30% off” didn’t work.

Long lead time, but product is great. It’s not super heavy either (with the smallest battery at least). A few hiccups with installation that were quickly resolved with customer support. In hindsight I would have preferred a matt black wheel which I don’t think was available when I went through the order portal, but this would have been a better match to my back wheel in hindsight. Be careful about screw length if you’re installing disc breaks. For those curious as to whether exercise benefit is greatly diminished, my watch thinks I’m using about 20% less energy per km on the default settings compared with unassisted.

Give great assistance for short rides (small battery), it's easy to install.

easy set up and works great if anything I have to keep my assist setting low to 1 or 2 so bike does not go too fast.

I have not been able to attach my motor just yet, There have been political deliberation in regards to the potential extra weight *pure nonsense I assure you* yet I would be grateful if there were a D.I.Y. Spoke length chart. I opted for a hub only because the extra 30 seconds to discover my 700 rim conversion was too much trouble. And now I must weigh in on a cycle repair shop’s expertise. Surely next time it will be worth the effort to have a rim pre made

I have just added a Go+ system to my Dawes Galaxy tourer. I am 68, and was finding hill climbing with luggage increasingly difficult. The Swytch hub now makes quite steep hills a breeze, even in a higher gear. On the negative side, it took 9 months between placing the order, and receiving the kit. In terms of ther installation process, the new wheel and hub slotted in with no adjustments. The problematic part was fitting the pedal sensor, as my Shimano crank is and unusual design, and there is virtually no space between the crank and frame, so the standard sensor was incompatible. Bartosz in CS was very helpful in supplying the other two options, and I was able to untilise the univeral fitting which is a little cludgy with cable ties, but does the trick. The other thing to be aware of, is that the OLED display and control will only fit onto a 22mm bar and mine is much thicker. I was able to get round this by attaching it to the bar extension that I use for my phone/GPS.
