I never got my order delivered. It was frustrating having to wait 6 months and after various notifications that my kit was in transit, to be told that it cannot be delivered. I did get a full refund of what I paid, but I'd rather have had the kit instead...

The kit is great and I've enjoyed using it: however I wish that Swytch maintained some degree of meaningful support for their older systems for example the possibility of purchasing replacement battery packs suitable for the early conversions.

The Swytch changed my life in a good way! The delivery and installation process were very fast and easy going. I bought it in May 2022, and since last August, I use my bike every day to go to work and charge the battery every 2 days. My only complaint is the duration of the battery, which seems to last less than the first few months.

I had the first generation kit, and it was AMAZING. After a few years, the battery needed to be upgraded, so I was forced to upgrade to the second generation kit and it has been awful. The range on the basic battery pack is tiny (I can get only about 7k before it starts cutting out and surging, which can be dangerous, despite claiming a 15k range). The customer service response to this was terrible and I would not recommend the Swytch kit after these recent experiences.

I originally purchased the Swytch over other e-bike options for the ability to use on my old vintage racing bikes. Sadly, I discovered that the Swytch system didn’t fit any of those bikes and I ended up buying another bike that would allow it to fit (literally the cheapest suitable bike I could find on gumtree). This turned out to be a blessing in disguise however as I chose a bike that I actually required for all my errands and commuting then added the swytch to make the perfect bike for my everyday needs. The range is not great for where I live, with lots of hills etc that chew the battery up pretty quickly, but the small inconspicuous battery is one of the reasons I chose it and I’m able to charge it every night without any problem so I’ve still never run of charge, it is ample for my daily commute. I have a child seat on the back and a basket on the front of my bike and the throttle makes taking off much safer and easier when pedalling is difficult at low speeds when a bit unbalanced with the extra weight of a kid and school bags. While all the components came in dribs and drabs, when everything finally arrived, it was super simple to install and I’ve had no issues with quality or performance. I do worry about security as the battery, and some other components that can be rapidly removed, so leaving the bike of even a short period requires removing the battery and checking that cables and hardware are still there when returning to the bike. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product and couldn’t imagine my life without it now. It has opened up my day so much more allowing me to fit more in, like a quick trip to the beach or the pool before picking up my kids or heading to work. Or popping to the shops for that one ingredient I forgot to pick up at the supermarket. I barely use my car at all anymore.

Having cycled for over 70 years, but now suffering from chronic lung problems, I was anxious to find a way to carry on using a bike, especially in windy weather. The Swytch kit fits the bill and, fitted to a Ridgeback Avenida with a 3 speed hub gear, makes for an enjoyable ride. The fit looks a a bit "Heath Robinson" but that is inevitable when looking for a solution to retro fit so many types of bike. The only down side is that the lights on the controller have already stopped working, although the on switch and motor still function. i had already found the switch a bit "spongy" and slow to react. I'm hoping that after service is not as bad as many of the online comments suggest! Disappointing that this fault has developed to mar an otherwise positive experience.

As of now, I am very pleased with my Swytch kit. However, that has not always been the case. A problem with loss of power was finally resolved last August but I first raised the issue about 12 months earlier. I was sent, and fitted, 2 new handlebar brackets and a new battery bag, as well as doing innumerable tests which you advised me to carry out. None of these solutions worked but finally I was sent a new sensor. I fitted that and since then, the kit has performed well. However, it is disappointing that identifying the problem took so long. In the interim, I could use my bike, but never felt confidence in it as I never knew when the power would drop out. I had mentioned the sensor in an email some time before the issue was finally resolved. As I say, I am perfectly happy with my kit now and it is a pleasure to use, but I feel if I could have taken it to a mechanic in person, rather than everything being done remotely via email, the problem could have been resolved much earlier. Maybe having regional, approved mechanics to which customers could take their bike in the event of problems is something look at.

Great product, a game changer for me, gives me the boost & confidence to ride to work every day. However I always recharge the battery while at work as it doesn't last as long as I'd expected. 100% recommend the Swytch but would get the higher capacity battery.

I love my Swytch bike, easy to use good, value for money, easy to install. Communication from the company before arrival was frustrating but the product has been good.

I am happy with my Swytch Bikes but would like a bit more distance capability especially for climbing uphill where the distance capability on full power is not great. A light, easy to carry, spare attachment which could be fitted into the PRO Battery connector when the PRO battery becomes empty could be very useful to extend distance capability. Perhaps this will become possible as battery power development improves. Please keep me informed of any progress in this direction.

The kit works perfectly and although it took quite long to arrive it was worth it, I am very satisfied. However, the battery last really short (only one day of ca. 4km riding uphill). It would be recommended to order a higher capacity battery than just the simple one I bought.

At 70, arthritic knees & 6 stents were restricting my cycling & I bought an electric offroad bike. Brilliant! Didn't want to sell my road bike which I had built myself around a Ridley Orion carbon fibre frame so went for Swytch in 2021 after seeing +ve press reviews. 4 month delivery time was fine when balanced against discount. Had two major problems: 1 - Axle flats had to be filed down accurately to fit 8 mm drop-outs. This was not easy and took over an hour - it should be an option when ordering as much better when preofessionally machined. 2 - Sensor could not be fitted to carbon fibre frame as the bottom bracket housing is much thicker than a metal frame. Swytch provided a new sensor that fitted into the bottom bracket, but I still had to cut away the splines on the crank disc to fit it onto the boss of the crankset to avoid the sensor and disc from touching. After a test ride, an extra cable-tie was found to be needed to hold the sensor in place. Other than these (major) issues fitting was straightforward and neat. I'm also happy with component quality, though disappointed it's produced in China, not UK. I've now ridden around 700 kms locally on hilly roads and am very pleased with performance. The motor only kicks in on hills or when starting off (my average speed is 27 km/hr overall and 32 km/hr on the flat) and I only generally use the lowest setting, so the battery range is much more than the 50 km quoted - about 20-25% down after a ride of 25 km. Instead of struggling up hills at 8-15 km/hr, I now swan up them at 18-22 km/hr! Compared with my purpose built E-bike, it doesn't have the same range, but it is more than adequate and the system is much lighter. It is also less easy to increase the power setting while riding, but I rarely need to do this and, of course there is less info on the display (no remaining distance, etc). Another unexpected issue was that my wireless computer stopped working due to interference from the Swytch system, so I had to fit a new wired computer. Having overcome the initial fitting issues, I'm very pleased overall and it enabled me to keep riding a great bike at about 15-20% of the cost of an equivalent purpose made E-bike. Swytch were also very helpful with the issues I had, although a bit more ingenuity was needed than I expected!

No bike repair shop in Amsterdam would fit the system to my bike so I spent over a grand on it but it’s just stayed in the cupboard for 2.5 years

Unfortunately neither of my bikes was compatible with the Swytch kit (it doesn't fit any bike like it says/ implies on the advert. On my old bike the distance between the forks was too narrow to accommodate the motor, on my newer bike they couldnt provide the correct size wheel and said I would need to either build the wheel myself or find a local bike shop to do it (my local bike shops declined as they did not feel comfortable using 3rd party parts to build an ebike wheel). In the end I bought an ebike from a different company

I am pleased with the overall with the installation but battery life is definitely not as good as I would have expected. Still testing but something I may have to seek advice from Swytch. An issue with the wheel sizing was very well supported by customer service and a credit to Swytch. The install is neat and tidy on my folding bike. Overall a good product.

The ordering process is very complex and painfully long. It's also convoluted to get to speak to a person. The advice you get from SWYTCH is awful. I ordered a SWYTCH kit for my folding bike, only to find when it arrived it it was not compatible with disc brakes, even though the order system had allowed me to add an extra, "hydraulic disc brake sensors" to the order, there was no point in the process when either the system or a person realised something may be wrong with this order as due to the kit not being compatible with disc brakes, yet an order being places for disc brake sensors. At no point in the process was it made clear the folding bike kit would not be compatible with a disc brake bike, they advertise as being able to convert any bike into a SWYTCH bike, this is not the case. Disc brakes on folding bikes are a lot more common than rim brakes. The absurd advice from SWYTCH was to reach out to my local bike shop and simply have the brakes changed to rim brakes, which would be a major downgrade in brake quality. The first shop, wouldn't entertain this idea or anything related to SWYTCH bike, another quoted £500 for the change, and another required, £100 to even look at the bike and check if this change was possible, and not to mention this change would have invalidated any remaining warranty I had on my bike. I was left with no option but to request a full refund and return the kit that I'd been waiting 3 months for.

Multiple connections (12 contacts) into the battery pack are a critical weak point. A bad contact can and does kill the controller. keeping the contacts spotless is the only way to keep it reliable. I completely redesigned my Switch kit by mounting the controller permanently on the bike, and connecting just the DC feed through new plugs from the battery pack. This fixed everything and I've since cycled thousands of miles without issue. It might be Switch now have it sorted, but my fix was 100% solid.

My boyfriend built the electric bike for me, and he said that the assembly was easy and the manual was easy to follow. However, one of the issues with the bike is that it becomes quite heavy, which could be improved. Additionally, it would be helpful if a bag was included to carry the battery pack. As a woman, I don't have pockets that are long enough to fit the battery. Therefore, a lockable pack or something that can be installed on the bike to reduce the risk of theft would be great. Lastly, it would be helpful to have a feature on the screen that displays the time or battery warning.

Nice battery pack and mounting click system bracket. The battery delivers what is Advertised, about 30 km assist on my folder 16” wheels. What was a pain are the supplied” universal” magnet mounts, impossible to fit on my XTR cranks, had to be creative and experiment with custom cast plastic Attachment pieces to fit on a complex shape crank. There has to be a better and more reliable way than plastic zippties! I am shure it works on a simple basic crank. Otherwise works fine once this was resolved.
