I placed my order in July 2020 with a delivery time expected 12-14 weeks. Understandable given the business model. However, this did not happened. Delivery was postponed several times with absolute lack of clarity regarding the whole situation. The only email I received after the first one related to the order was the one saying I needed to pay 20% tax plus 5% import charges. After 6 long months of frustration (in which I contacted the customer service many times) and excuses they finally admitted they messed up. There was an administrative error with the order. I am not sure if this involved only my order but I did not expect such lack of committment from them. Anyway, after many emails exchanged and waste of precious time, they finally confirmed the order was ready to be collected by the courier. Of course no tracking number provided just a vague message saying “if you don’t hear from the courier within seven days ....” I received the kit a couple of days ago and I haven’t tried it yet as in the meantime I have sold my bike... Awful and very stressful experience. I will definetly not make the same mistake again.

Hi Francesco, I would like to thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. As a growing start up, Swytch is always looking for ways to improve our customer experience as we know it will be vital for us to succeed in our mission. We are sorry to see that you do not believe you received the Swytch experience that we pride ourselves on, and that this has outweighed the quality of our product. I would like to share my experience which has been really good despite delays. I ordered a kit in May expecting delivery in July/August. The order process was easy. I had researched the crowd funding model so was going into it with my eyes open. The biggest fear was not hearing anything after I had paid my money. But the communication at each step of the way was enough to keep me reassured. The tracking on the container ship was brilliant. So I got my kit at the start of December so why am I not more annoyed or disappointed? Well we are in a pandemic and manufacturing in China was hit like any other sector. (As an aside I’ve ordered another bike form a local bike shop and if you know anything about the current situation with bikes you know they are really difficult to get hold of. I’m looking at a 4 month wait from Germany. ) Installation was fairly easy. I had an issue with the PAS but the step by step instructions were great. I had no other issues and despite not uploading the warranty photos right, I got a nice email from their warranty team saying to email them the missing photos. Swytch did say taxes would be due and they did say that the 3 months is their manufacture time. And that’s from all the orders closing. Shipping takes longer. So I should not have been surprised. Some who ordered in October got their kits a few weeks after me but that’s the way it goes. I’ve just got off a chat with someone about getting an extra power pack and the service has been great. Yes I am surprised they have not had investment to run like a normal business and still operate a crowdfunding model but the quality for the price you pay is something I have not seen elsewhere. If you do your research you should not be surprised.

My Swytch kit is one of the best products I have bought in ages. I was not sure what to expect, so my expectations were pretty low. After I got it set up I was blown away. I had a decent Giant E-bike pre-2010 and I was pretty underwhelmed. It had a 250 watt motor on it. So I thought the Swytch kit might be underpowered. Not-at-all. The new sine wave controller makes it super buttery smooth and silent. Power is fantastic. (I wish the top end speed was a hair more - that is my only complaint). The battery pack mounting system is beautifully designed. Swytch crushed it on providing both form and function. What put me off with most other add-on kits is that they just look dumb. Swytch actually added cool-factor to my bike. It just enhances the capabilities of my bike, while maintaining the feel of a regular bike (unlike some of the other monsterous ebikes out there). Needless to say it has my vote!

Having a Swytch kit on my bike now means that I can arrive at work fresh and non stressed. It’s like having a friendly hand pushing you up the hills so there’s no need to break a sweat. I love that I can still pedal independently if I want some exercise though.

After much research I ordered two Swytch kits (pro) for our two Bromptons. I ordered in March 2020 and the kits duly arrived in December 2020. Nine months, but to be fair COVID was right in the middle, which nocks three months off, and probably another month for getting back into operation again. All in all I was very happy with the time frame. Being Brompton specific, the kits fitted very easily, even coming with Brompton specific PAS sensors, giving ample choice of which sensor fitted best. The fitting guides and videos were a great help. The hardest part for me was fitting the handlebar mount, as on Bromptons the cockpit is rather cramped, but it did finally fit. If you own a Brompton with sport (straight) handlebars, there will be no problem whatsoever. I had an initial problem with some defective parts, but after a couple of emails and a zoom meeting with an engineer, the replacement parts were duly dispatched and arrived quickly. I found customer support to be good, all communication is by email. Not being able to phone is unusual, but thinking about it, it makes sense as everyone has copies of what was said and it allows Swytch’s representatives to operate efficiently. Warranty registration is straight forward and online. The kits work really well, and are much more powerful than I imagined they would be. Simple to operate and do not seem to affect the handling of the bikes. There is on option for a Brompton mount that utilises the Brompton luggage mount, thus removing any weight from the handlebars. However for us this was not an option as we have Brompton bags that cannot be used if the mount is used for the battery. Overall we are very happy with the kits, they blend well into the bike and most importantly, the bikes can be used as normal if the battery goes flat. The biggest difference for myself is that my wife has changed from being a “I want to cycle somewhere flat” or “not that way, there’s a hill” to a “ooh look, there’s another hill, lets try that one!”, cyclist. Priceless!

This Universal Swytch eBike Kit is absolutely fabulous, just fitted to my Jorvik Folding Tricycle (24” wheels) - yes a long wait to receive it due to both COVID and Brexit (both beyond anyone’s control), but excellent aftercare assistance when I found I had not ordered enough throttle cable due to the nature of my Dutch style handlebars (received 2 more extension cables in 3 working days) - I just look forwards now to a few nice days to test out the range of the battery (but I already have experienced the sheer joy of not struggling up any more of our local hills). My husband also found a to be an easy fit, just centralising the Cadence Sensor needs a bit of patience.

Fantastic product. very impressed with the build quality and love my new electric bike. Pretty easy to install, but I did need a little bit of extra support to get the kit to fit my 30+ year old bike and Swych were brilliant with the support. If you aren't going to be happy that it will take the quoted 5-6 months to arrive then don't order. however Swytch keep you well informed of the delivery process and links to the ship that's brining your kit to the UK

Bought the swytch kit for my "Genesis tour de fer" bike. Although the order was delayed due to covid, when the kit arrived it was clear that this was a really well made solution, manufactured to the highest quality. Very easy to fit and the customer service is great. Well done Swytch !!

Although the current worldwide pandemic pushed my ETA way back in November (I live near Montreal, Canada so, hello -10 normal temperatures!), I managed to do a few test runs before true winter knocked at our door and wow, what a joy! I was so eager to test it again that, for the first time in my life (58 years old) I rode my bike in January! People (including myself before I got my kit) think that electric bike equals less exercise, but in fact, the power assistance eliminates all the irritations that would ruin a pleasant moment for the average rider: muscle-tearing hills, strong headwind on the return leg, the energy drop in the middle of the ride... And if you want to take a break without halting the whole caravan, you can do so with the throttle! (In Canada it's permitted, lucky us!) So I'm thrilled just thinking of the coming summer with my new vehicle, exploring every hidden road around my countryside without worrying about losing power (human power that is!...) in the middle of the run!

Good news universal kit arrived 4.12.2020 in great shape. Bad news pre order 18th May order locked 17th June 2020 delays due to demand for bike parts, covid, ship delays ever gentle ship anchored off Felixstowe for 2 weeks port in chaos, 2 weeks delay at customs due to covid. Good news Installation took 40 minutes had file my forks thank goodness not carbon fibre, one locking nut on upside down however easy to install. Yes wires visible and bike heavier, (but not going to lift it). A great piece of kit. I would recommend the product. Revitalised a 1996 khd Montana crest bike. Rides well. Thanks swytch.

Very pleased with my Swytch kit so far. It was easy to install on my MoultonTSR Alfine 11 which I use for day rides in the country and local fitness rides. It has proved easy to ride and now most hills are a rewarding achievement instead of hard labour. I'm considering ordering another kit for my 1965 classic Moulton bicycle which would make an excellent town and shopping machine with its large luggage racks.

After a lengthy Covid-induced wait, got my Swytch conversion fitted to my Brompton in about an hour or so. The only bit that takes real care and improvisation as all bikes seem to differ is the fitting of the Power Assistance Sensor to the bike's pedal crank and the nearest bit of frame. The rest is more of a 'bolt it on and wire it together' affair. Even the connectors can't be mixed up. The only niggle I had was that with the battery box in place at handlebar level, my wireless speedo stopped working - OK it's only a Halfords basic job but I'm not alone and some other users have more exotic 'computers'. It now works fine down on the crossbar out of the line of fire of what I assume is radio interference. Riding an assisted bike for the first time makes you smile - you can't help it. It will only assist whilst you're pedalling so you can't cheat and use it like a moped - well not on the UK's roads you can't although other countries allow for a throttle to be fitted. You can here too as long as you stay off road, although this is not that likely with a Brompton! As you'll see from my MapMyRun stats below, it has helped me tackle a short and very steep 800' climb that I couldn't even complete on my mountain bike. I had to use level 5 on the power pack (it's the smaller Eco version) and used up 40% of the battery, but as you can imagine, I didn't use ANY on the way back! Glad I waited - you bet!

I ordered the Brompton kit in May this year, this to fit on my Dahon Boardwalk Folding Bike and despite the various problems caused by Covid 19 the kit arrived on the 9th October, Fitting did not take long and apart from fitting the front wheel the wrong way round initially, which was soon rectified, ( I had put the bike upside down to facilitate installation. ) Overall it took me about 2 hours to get everything sorted and ready for the test photos and video for the warranty. Once completed I did a short test ride to check everything was working correctly and the put the battery onto charge again. I have subsequently carried several minor modifications such as repositioning the pedal sensor, wrapping and rerouting cables. My longest ride to date is only just over 10 miles and I returned with 2 bars left on my Eco battery, I expect I'll improve my mileage and battery life as I get fitter. As a septuagenarian, I doubt whether I'll achieve the fitness level of my youth but the Swytch Kit has got me out on my bike again and enjoying the ride. Overall I'm very pleased with the kit, but in hindsight, I think I should have bought the Pro Battery

I haven't had the chance to ride it too much yet, but installation was a breeze even on a 25+ year old bike. I like the simple design and it easily fit my need to repurpose my old bike.

As a 74 yr. old cyclist with an asthma condition. What I really needed was just a bit of help with the long upward slopes as well as the steep hills. the flat i was fine with .. Swytch was definitely the answer to my needs . after the normal lets have a playtime and see how far ahead of my grandchildren I could get on the highest setting !! I have settled into a normal 1 bar assist. I am once again a very happy cyclist

I discovered Swytch in May 2020 and placed a pre-order. You may read several disgruntled reviewers complaining about the time it took for their orders to arrive. I'm not going to do that, it is 2020 and probably the most disrupted year anyone has experienced, so I cut them some slack and waited for the eventual delivery. Their website kept us up to date regarding progress of the order and then slit into specific updates for each batch. Couldn't ask for more than that. So enough about delivery time, because when it did arrive, boy was it worth the wait. Like many others I'm getting on a bit and where cycling was fun it started to hurt in strong head winds and riding up inclines. I'd bought my Trek hybrid following a heart by-pass to help me back to full fitness and for enjoyable exercise, but when the enjoyment started to fade after twenty years or so I thought my cycling days were over. Then I saw the promotional videos for Swytch and decided it was worth a try. A couple of hours following the simple instructions and, with a couple of easily overcome challenges my Trek had become everything Swytch promises. It is simply a brilliant product. Regrets? Yes, I should have done it sooner. 6 stars.

I own the original Brompton Swytch kit and now the Brompton Swytch Pro Kit. Their designers and engineers took feedback from the original kit to make refinements that made the new kit easier to install and more robust. For example the PAS disc clamps onto the pedal crank and the rest of the ring floats. The torque washer is thicker. The Brompton block allows you to place the battery where the brompton carrier block sits. The ride experience is customisable. I tuned it to give me a natural feel, the right amount of boost needed to keep up with London traffic or to overcome 45 degree hills in Hampstead Heath. My partner, who used to shy away from cycling, because of the mentioned barriers, now feels confident and asks me to go cycling with her. Their customer support has improved tremendously. You can book video calls to get help with installation and if there’s anything wrong they will send you new parts with express mail. I saw on their job board that they are hiring bike designers and customer support, 6 new hires total. This company is growing. I definitely prefer riding my Swytch Brompton as my main mode of transportation. It's fun and it cost a lot less than the official e-Brompton.

Having tried out two e-bikes several years ago, we'd entertained the idea of a possible purchase sometime in the future. However, the biggest stumbling block to our plans were that we both owned bikes that we were loathe to abandon so the idea of a conversion kit grew more appealing as the years ticked by. Having discovered Swyche, and having read the various reviews, we duly put orders in, and the two boxes arrived in early October. I purchased two install kits, the PRO versions. The installs were fairly straight forward although I did find the website a bit confusing to navigate, what I wanted was a comprehensive set of instructions at the front of the web pages. Also, the 'quick install paper instruction' seemed unnecessary, let's have a full set of paper comprehensive instructions supplied with each kit. Unfortunately I received the wrong sized wheel for my wife's bike, 700c, not 27". They initially agreed that I could use the 700c wheel providing I could fit it and they would order the correct size asap. I had to buy a new tyre to fit the 700c wheel and by minimal adjustments to the brake, my wife was able enjoy her bike. Swyche then contacted me and offered a refund instead of the correct wheel which I accepted as I decided to upgrade the back wheel also. This would mean I could obtain new tyres if necessary when cycling abroad. The only other problems were the pedal sensors, the ones supplied are too big and are apt to move out of alignment. I have managed a slight temporary modification, but am awaiting two new alternative sensors. In terms of how they work, we are both thoroughly enjoying the benefits of a Swyche conversion and have racked up 500 Kms between us. We are very pleased we took the decision to convert our much loved steel framed classic touring bikes. Both bikes, a 30+ year old Carlton Courette and a similar age Raleigh Royal, with the kit fitted weigh an almost identical 19kgs so still competitive weight wise with much more expensive modern offerings and still offer a very decent riding experience when cycling without e bike power.
