“Like a few other reviewers I thought the lights were slightly over-priced, but putting that aside... I appreciate it's very difficult to show online a realistic picture of how the lights look in a naturally subdued light environment but this didn't bother me too much when I compared the two. The size took me slightly by surprise, but again, no matter. I think the main criticism would be that one colour ball (there were I think three of these), mid-blue?, was much thinner than any of the others and therefore collapsed immediately in trying to push through the cable & bulb making it annoyingly difficult to push them back into shape.”

“I love these lights. My only criticism is that the colours depicted online (when you choose your own) are not as bright as the ones I received. But I still think they are great. I might have to order some more, slightly subtle shades next time. Thank you.”

Dear Anon, Thank you for taking the time to post. All the colours we show online in the choose your own and replacement section are images based on photos of the product. We try really hard to get the colour as accurate as possible to real life, depending on the lighting of when the photo is taken. This image is then uploaded onto the website. It would be really helpful if you can email me on hellow@cableandcotton.com with an example of which colour/s you felt did not reflect 'reality' so that we can check them ourselves again. “I adore these lights!! I got a 50pc string lights and the largest of the shades for my daughters room and they are gorgeous. Well worth the time to pop the balls onto the string lights. I am wondering where I can buy some for next...!”

“Love your lights since I prchased the first ones. Such a lovely idea and bring a new dimension to lots of areas and rooms. I have seen them in a few places I have visited too. The always look great. I now have 3 sets and love them all although I definately think the LED sets are the better ones as I have had a few problems and the bulbs are always going on the standard set and have just ordered more replacement bulbs. Overall though I would recommend and would love a shop near to me but at least the are easy to send for and such a lovely friendly company.”

“I love the look of the cotton balls and am happy with the USB lights. However since the bulb is slightly larger than the original filament bulbs they are a little more difficult to fit in the pre- made slits in the ball. The grey were all too small by far and required cutting. This hasn’t detracted at all from the finished result but please cut slits to correct size.”

Dear Anon, Thank you for your post; I am glad you like the new LEDs and agree that they are larger than the old style filament bulb cables which were easier to slip through the holes. We of course have had a period of adjustment - we introduced the new LEDs but of course still had balls cut to slightly smaller holes. This can be addressed by enlarging the hole with a sharp pair of scissors as we detail in the instruction leaflet with your order. All balls handmade from last year onwards are now cut with a wider split to accommodate the new LED discs so this will gradually phase out as an issue. I very much hope you like your lights and can see how fabulous they look offsetting your painting, so thanks a lot for the photo too! Yours warmly, Kate
