We stayed at Golden Coast Woolacombe Bay Holiday Resort, in one of the bungalows. Now whilst Woolacombe itself can pride itself on its Golden Coast, I am afraid that the resort itself completely failed to live up to the expectations on their web site. The bungalow was dirty, dark, damp. The bed linen and duvet were disgusting, The bed and sofa bed were so uncomfortable we had to finish up sleeping on the cushions rather than on the furniture designed for sleeping. The resort itself was also dirty, noisy, under managed, loud and the equipment was faulty. If one wanted to paint a "holiday from hell", this resort would easily fit that category. I do NOT recommend that anyone goes there. It was pricey. The food was terrible and the prices of drinks were probably the highest I have ever had to pay in all of England. As a resort, I could not wait to leave. A complete and utter waste of money at a town which was lovely.

I made a mistake when booking and wished to cancel the booking straight away. However i was told there would be a £5 charge for doing so. I'm pretty sure this is breaking the trading standards regulations so will be reporting yourselves

When a booking is made, a contract comes into place and our conditions of booking come into effect. These state that cancellations this close to the arrival date would be subject to a 100% cancellation charge. We are aware that the team leader on shift allowed you to have a full refund, less £5 to cover the refund charges and administration costs levied on us for processing the cancellation and refund; our standard administration charge is £20. It is unfortunate that when we have refunded virtually the entire cost as a gesture of goodwill for a mistake that was not our own, that this is regrettably seen as us being unhelpful. ^kd, social media team.

The online system stated that there was "only 1 pitch left " and that we should "hurry - book now". After booking the system still had "only 1 pitch left" and still does 24 hours later. Not a nice way to incentivise custom. Other than this the booking system was great. Can't wait to go - site looks lovely.

It is a very unfriendly web site and when I phoned for help the staff were very dismissive I hope the holiday staff are better than that

We have had to pay £20 for a pet and we don't have any pets so we don't understand what we have been charged for it Seems very unfair. The staff were friendly and helpful

Very poor customer support and service, no disabled accommodation unless u pay an upgrade fee which is discrimination! Booking process is incorrect adds extras on without explaining! When I book a pet friend holiday the pet isn't on the booking and u have to add! All in all false advertisement. Bad service and no customer satisfaction!

I chose date i wanted to book, there was a box with a promotional code already in it, really pleased with cost. Went ahead and booked and when confirmation came through its not for the date i booked. Im not even available on the date!!!

Positive: The on-line chat was very useful and helped make a decision on what we needed. I spoke to Caz -- we liked Caz! Negative: After finally deciding to commit, the transaction failed to complete but this was not clear and I only realised when the payment page reloaded. I have an issue with all companies who employ a credit card charge but my kids had been very excited when looking at the web pages. (lesson learned for next year!!) I called the 'need help with buying' line and after being told (very slowly) the call would cost 5p per minute the wait was unacceptably long. To make things worse the lady I spoke to advised I just complete the page again and had to be prompted to check the system for my name or postcode. I had expected this first off and to be followed by a 'I can take payment from you now if this is easier?' This was not forthcoming. Despite poor IT and payment systems, credit card charges and poor customer service I continued and completed the transaction successfully on the second time of asking. I have since received 3 emails asking why I did not complete my purchase and 2 confirming I made it. I also received a request for feedback, to which I am replying with all my frustrations. Truly hope the holiday lives up to the recommendations we received and the experience gets significantly better from now on. I would be happy to be contacted regards any of the points above.

Tried about 20 times and was told at stage 4 I hda not selected a holiday an hour of my life wasted. Finally suceded on another device.

This sounds very much like a set-up issue on your computer/device that you were trying to book on; that it went straight through on another device indicates that it was not a problem with the website. To book online, you build up a "shopping cart" and your browser needs to have cookies and/or tracking enabled and not be browsing in a private window. Many websites work like that and we do put a warning message on the site when visiting the website and trying to book with cookies turned off. Glad you managed to book online though and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Could not book my holiday as declined my card 3 times yet u took the money!!! There was was note on ur web site to say of certain banks having problems yet u was aware of the situation! Had to wait 11 days for 3 payments back! And was not very helpful. Lovely holiday park a big shame on the staff and web page.

Tried to access a saved booking but it wasn't working was very slow so had to restart booking again but it didn't take very long.

We're sorry to hear you had trouble recalling your saved holiday. We've just tested this ourselves and checked the speed logs for our website and everything seems to be working normally. We haven't had any similar reports from any other customers that they have had problems with recalling saved holidays - it may be an issue with internet connection or the settings on your browser?
