“order/delivery went very well unfortunately there was/is a problem with one of the keys/locks - I phoned in but the support/help rec'd from the"sales manager" was woeful ( non-existent) - the worst kind of customer touch-point. Because the "sales manager" was either unwilling or incapable of talking to me the customer, I was left dealing with a poor girl who was running back/forward between myself and the manager. The firearms officer was NOT happy with multiple key access - the safe WAS NOT fit for purpose but I could not get it replaced.... Your website hails the very high level of customer support you proport to provide......in my instance customer support was non existent and an absolute disgrace.. I am a retired COO - brand and customer relations were extremely high on my radar. In your case I'm afraid your branding and CR is non- existent.”

“Winterfield Safes are the worst company I have ever dealt with. After sending a faulty item they made every excuse not to collect the safe and as such not to refund me for months. This period included times when they insisted I waited in for a day (a day I had to take as holiday at my own expense) only to not collect the item. Their customer service advisors are rude, unprofessional and incompetent... to the extent where they put the phone down on you. I have had months of lies and ignored emails and messages. Winterfield Safes are borderline criminal. Avoid like the plague!!”

“The safe was damaged when delivered. They offered to replace item and informed me that it would be done the following day (Thursday). I waited in all day, but no delivery. The following day (Friday) I spoke to customer services and they informed me that it was going to be delivered that day (Friday). I again waited in all day, but no delivery. It eventually got delivered 3 days later (Monday).Every time I phoned the company (which was several times) I had to phone an 0845 number which costs me extra. I was given false information on several occasions. Customer services could not speak directly with the delivery company and had to go through their suppliers. When I pointed out that it cost me money to phone the 0845 number, this was denied by customer services. I was not believed. When I first informed customer services that the item was not replaced and I had waited in all day for nothing, the response was 'Not a problem'. Well it was for me. At no time was I offered anything for all my inconveniences. The item was delivered damaged, I needlessly waited in for 2 whole days, I was given misinformation, was not treated with respect, not offered any compensation and the undamaged item was delivered 5 days late.”

“I was sent this review before my cabinet had arrived. I replied to your info email address saying it had not been delivered and received no reply. On phoning today I'm told my item was out of stock and wouldn't be available until March. Did anyone think to tell me this. Very poor service and I wouldn't recommend.”

“Very pleased with the quick delivery of my gun cabinet and very impressed with the quality of the gun cabinet, but very disappointed that the cabinet was damaged on one corner after unpacking it. I thought the packaging was very good initially but it still allowed this damage to happen? I have sent a photo of the damage to you and you have compensated me for it but I would have preferred to have not had a damaged one.”

“Very happy with the safe which is excellent, and delivered very efficiently. BUT one important reservation - do not use the lightweight bolts supplied, because you (or a thief) may well be able to pull your safe straight out of the wall! This is apparently a common problem with lightweight expanding bolts. Instead get some longer heavier expanding bolts (eg Screwfix supplies Shield anchor bolt M10x83mm, SKU 19510-0005, requiring 16mm drill size, in their shops or on their website, about £4.50 for a packet of 5 - you need 4). First mark up, and then drill the holes carefully, then pack around the bolts if the holes are too big (ie so the part of the bolt which goes into the wall is firm and can't turn in the hole, which would stop it expanding). Then, with the safe in place, you need to tighten the bolts almost until they will tighten no more - this may take some time (ie don't give up halfway, before they have expanded properly). Also helpful to know that the top and bottom keys are different, and that the keys go in with the number uppermost - if you put them in with the number facing down they won't go in.”

“Excellent service. Delivered exactly when it should have been. Very well packaged and a really good safe. Easy to follow instructions and if in doubt, your video was excellent and I know you also have a help line. I would recommend your company as it has an easy ordering system, free delivery and goods arrived when stated- on time and you have a good follow up service.”

“Winterfield's delivery service was incredibly quick, with friendly staff at the other end of the phone. The safe itself looks smart and was reasonably priced. The bolts provided could be better, would be my only criticism - they'd do the job ok, but I did buy some better ones from a well known DIY store as I wanted something a little beefier. Overall a great product, thanks.”
