No birds have come to it yet! Am hoping for goldfinches especially. Perhaps they need to get used to its presence - it's only been up for 3days. Or maybe the bright yellow colour alarms them?! Ask me again in 2 or 3 weeks.

Very Poor experience. The product was not even packaged with an outer layer of protective card. The box arrived damaged, ripped, faded, sellotaped in a hap hazard manner with brown tape and looked like it had been sitting on a dirty shelf for sometime. The new style wormery is of inferior thin plastic. Although it looks good in its design, the base does not adequately support the weight and I suspect this will warp and eventually break in a short period of time. Excessive, large gaps between base and tray meant that almost all of the worms escaped in the first few days. Customer service is poor. You cannot speak to any person and when the issue was raised by email and online, pro forma replies are sent, the majority implying that I had done something wrong ( I have been successfully composting worms for over 10 years !) Returns policy is poor - you have to pay for return postage of this large item even though the product is clearly faulty. I tried very hard to work with Lower Blakemore Farm to find resolution, draining my time and energy. After numerous attempts, trying to navigate unhelpful replies and facing road block after road block I have decided just to give up. The wormery package is not cheap and the money paid has been wasted. Very disappointing and most unpleasant.

I’m sorry to read this review. I have explained on a number of occasions that the reason for worms escaping is not because of the gaps. The worms have to establish within the kit and this is easy to achieve if you follow the instructions, and we are always keen to help and support. Of course it would be extremely unlikely for ALL of them to jump ship, so even if you do have some escapees on the first night there are plenty of worms to breed and establish within the kit. We have a clear returns policy and it does not affect faulty goods. If the goods are faulty we address the situation without worrying about returns. In this case there was no photo that showed any fault at all with the product. We do not manufacture the worm farm housing and there are always gaps between the trays - you can not have the trays flush as the worms need plenty of air. I explained this to Stephen in detail and then he mentioned the box. We do not double package anything if possible so the box that the housing is packed in is the box we send out. I asked for a photo in case there was damage but none was forthcoming. Worm composting is an entirely natural process and we are here to help ensure conditions are good for the worms to do their job. The product isn’t faulty as far as I can see. I will offer Stephen replacement worms and bedding to restart the kit in an effort to resolve the situation. Just for reference I am the owner of Wiggly Wigglers and all queries and questions are dealt with directly by myself, Rach or Rob.

I ordered and received 150 lobs. Two days after delivery I found several dead.You sent me a further 100.4 days later all the original lobs where dead.I only had enough for 4 days.salmon fishing in Scotland not 6 Dave Davenport

Dear Dave I’m really sorry you had a problem with the original lob worms. They are guaranteed to reach you in tip top condition. Very occasionally – and less than 1% of despatched there is a problem and particularly if the parcel gets too warm it can cause problems. Communication very poor I contacted the company with a legitimate query, which the supplier requests in their main page, before writing a review. I had unexpectedly received very small to minute mealworms, so out of loyalty, I emailed with enquiry. I did not expect to read the letters ‘FYI’ as if written by a preteen with attitude. With no apology, offer of solution or reassurance. Instead I was basically told, you get what you get. There are plenty of other long standing professional suppliers of mealworms. I tried to support this company but customers are not valued or respected. Wiggly wigglers ‘FYI’ your unprofessional approach and lack of customer care lost you a regular customer!!

I’m really sorry to read this review for the following reasons. You worms are guaranteed to reach you in tip top condition – always. The above worms were in good condition and were despatch on the same day for next day delivery. To report a problem you just let us know straight away and send a photo and we will always replace. This issue was mentioned 7 days after the worms arrived. The “poor stock” is referring to the size of the mealworms. Mealworms are sold by weight and we have two sizes regular and mini. Obviously if you have smaller worms you have more for your money and the same weight. Rob replied to the query and understood that you wanted to know if the next order was the same size and he explained they do vary. He is a lovely chap and mortified someone would think him rude, so I’m sorry that you feel this way. He was attempting to explain that there is a natural variation. We are a small company who take a pride in our service and in our products and I hope this helps clear things up. Sincerely Heather – Managing Director.

We purchased this with good intentions but unfortunately it doesn’t work. There are gaps in the sides for worms to get out so every morning we have to do a round up of escapees. But we have discovered that the worms are going into the sump and drowning. They also go into the water butt and drown there. I am very disappointed with this product plus it’s very upsetting to see all these dead worms.

Thanks for your review - I'm sorry you have had a bad experience. The Kit isn't designed to be a prison for the worms, when the conditions are right they will want to stay in the trays with the waste, also if they are moving down into the sump then that also indicates the conditions aren't right. There were hardly any worms. I think they have probably died due to heat in the composter.

Ordered worms early Friday morning and paid for next day delivery No sign of them and nothing on website to advise weekends don’t count in next day yet took the extra payment NOT HAPPY

Hi Maria, thanks for your review. We do have this information available on our website; If you need a guaranteed Next Day delivery then please choose the Next Day delivery option. If you order on a Friday then the delivery will be with you on the following Monday. Please note there are no deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays. You must order before 1pm for your order to be sent to arrive the following working day. If you order after 1pm then your order will be shipped on the next working day. The shipping option is also called Next Week Day Delivery.

A friend gave me the earthworm box from this company as a gift, but the boxes cannot be covered tightly, and all the earthworms escaped from the gaps. When I woke up in the morning, I found that many earthworms were dead.

Hi Shirline, thanks for your review. Our wormeries aren't worm prisons, they aren't designed to trap the worms, when they are happy with the conditions in the kit and they learn where the food is they will stay put. In the instructions provided there is a page that says this can happen when the kit is first set up - but provides instructions on how to prevent it - such as leaving a light on and lid off when you first set it up. Sent a smaller size than what I ordered and then set my subscription to a frequency I never chose so they can take even more money

Hi David, I apologise for sending the wrong size in your order. I can see my colleague sorted it a few days later. I can see your original order was set to recurr every month and your next order generated a few days ago as requested on your original order. As we have sorted the issue as the subscription is working as requested we would appreciate it if you could remove or amend this review as it's not completely accurate.

Dreadful delivery experience. I think you need to review your choice of carriers. All sorted in the end with the help of Rachel Jones. Product itself is excellent although if prices continue to rise I will find an alternative.

On speaking to Rach, I understand that she quickly did all she could to help with the order and also arranged to send the order again, despite DPD letting you down. Purchased live worms on 25 Jan, I should have complained when they arrived, they were very small like mini worms and a large number were dead.

Hi John, thanks for your review - we do pack all of our pots of mealworms one-by-one and are very vigilant with any issues with our mealworms. I can get you another pack of mealworms sent out asap, and in the future, we'd love it if you could send us an email so we can sort out any issues straight away. We'd really appreciate it if you could amend or remove this review as we a small business and we feel this doesn't represent our usual quality of mealworms.

Used to use them even though they are often more expensive. But when I raised a query about a mouldy bag of bokashi they never bothered replying, despite multiple emails. It was very disappointing, won't use them again.

We have checked our emails and we cannot see any email from this customer. We address all our emails daily and have replied to this review privately and not had a response. In terms of Bokashi – if there is a problem we are always happy to address and replace of course if need be. We are one of the largest makers of Bokashi in the UK and supply many other companies with white label Bokashi as well as our own – made and dried here on the farm. It’s top quality using Effective Micro-organisms and Mollasses and then dried in 3 tonne batches in our own grain stores. As always if there is any problem we are happy to help where possible and where we are made aware.

Had my bokashi bins for a year, no smell ever, until I changed to this bran. Now it just smells putrid,and it's not even Summer yet. Won't be using again, and will have to waste the other 2kg bags.

We have asked this customer to consider deleting this review on the following grounds. We have strict controls when we make and dry our Bokashi to ensure it is active and can be stored for up to 6 months. If there is an issue (perhaps it gets wet on delivery or similar) there is a simple way of raising a concern (via email and photo or via our chat box). This is what happened in the case but within a few minutes we had an email, a message in the chat box and this review. Rob addressed the issue in our chat box and the customer was not willing to have a replacement bag but we did refund. Our Bokashi is top quality, mixed and dried on our farm in Herefordshire.
