Prior to our visit, the organisation of the day was well communicated. On the day, the workshops were enjoyed by everyone! The sessions were well-pitched for each year group and our West End in Schools leader. Mark, was excellent. The final presentation was superb! It was heart-warming to see some of our quieter, less confident pupils shine and become the stars of the show!

Beth from West End in Schools visited us last Wednesday and Thursday during Shakespeare Week, and worked with our whole school - from Foundatin Stage up to Year 6. The whole experience was amazing! Every child and adult invoved came out of their workshop gushing with excitement and praise for what they had experienced! We focused on 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' across the school and it was fabulous! Beth differentiated the activities brilliantly for each year group, and we all had a brilliant time! We are ready to book again for next year - and we can't wait!

We absolutely loved our workshop today. Lois was lovely and engaged all the children throughout the session. We covered so much in the workshop and time just seemed to fly! It was a great consolidation of our History unit on the Great Fire of London and the children were able to share all their knowledge with Lois through her questionning and drama activities. We will definitely book you again. Thank you.

The children were fully engaged with the sessions. The sessions were well organised and appropriate for the age range delivered to. The choice of story and activity supported children's confidence in speaking and listening.

Amazing Shakespeare sessions with our KS2 pupils. All children were engaged and loved joining in with parts of the session. Marcus was really able to bring Shakespeare to life and make it accessible to all. Thank you very much, we would highly recommend and can't wait to welcome West End in Schools back in the future.

As part of World Book Day, we booked the West End in schools bringing books to life workshops for each class to participate in, with books that were appropriate for each key stage. The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. Teachers said they were engaging, practical and they really did bring the books to life. We can't wait to have them back next year.

Wow! Our children loved the visit from West End Schools, birnging books to life. Amy the choreographer was fabulous and really alloowed the childrens' imagination and ideas to come through. The children gained a better under standing of books they were familiar with and in some cases they wanted to read the books they had explored. The workshop really fitted into our book week well. Thank you so much!

Last week we had Holly in from West End Studios as part of World Book Day celebrations. She worked with 12 classes over two days. Each class thoroughly enjoyed their workshop. Holly developed a lovely rapport with the children, she introduced the texts to the children with enthusiasm. All the chidlren and staff I spoke with throughly enjoyed the seesion of dance and moreover being immersed into a text through dance. May I take the opportunity to thank Holly for a wonderful two days for the whole of our schooo.

Year 3 Teacher: “The woman running the workshop was engaging from the first moment through the door. The children were engrossed with everything she had to say and it was pitched just right for their level. It was completely inclusive and every child was keenly joining in with all the activities. It really brought out their creative side while getting them to really think about characters thoughts, feelings and actions. Their freeze frames were particularly interesting – they had to think carefully about how to present their scene to their audience so that they could interpret what was happening (some fascinating ways of showing inanimate objects flying through the air). Even the children in the class who are vulnerable and known as being anxious were able to engage and participate feeling safe and confident and that was also due to the warm up activities that the woman used to get them all working together and setting the tone for the whole session that was friendly and fun.” Pupils: “I loved it so much!” “We got to make statues of different characters and really think about how they felt and what they were like” “I had a good time with my friends and my whole class” “I liked being able to move my body” “I played parts I would have never thought of playing” (a comment from a boy playing Miss Trunchbull) Year 4: “I liked thinking about how the characters walked and not just what their faces would look like” “We made a whole class scene and we never get to do that!” “I liked that we all did slightly different things that brought the whole book to life” Year 5: “I loved it so much” “I had so much fun” “I liked that we got to think about lots of different characters. I think it will help my writing” “The lady was really lovely!”
