We decided to see how WEBUYBOOKS worked - the system is splendid however the price paid for major books is either nil or about 10% of what rear book buys pay. We will not be using the service again if WEBUYBOOKS don't value interesting and rear books. Francis

This is how I sell my books when all else has failed. The prices they offer are rock bottom, but due to being lumbered with so much stuff, the appeal of being able to get rid of books quickly means I use them occasionally.

The driver failed to pick up the books as he went to the wrong building. I was told the driver would not call me in such situation, which puzzles me: why would they rather waste their time than simply make a phone call? Also, I have not received the payment nearly two weeks after the books were taken away.

I guess it does what it says on the tin but why do you have to make it so difficult with your awkward, clunky page for listing books? New design is even worse than the old one. I don't know why I'm writing this since you never take any notice

Received a message from Webuybooks on 24th Feb saying they had received my book parcel and the cash would be in my PayPal account by 7.00 pm that day. Still no sign of any cash on 4th March. Cash arrived by cheque a few days after sending this review.

It’s a great service . The only thing I would say negative is that you get 10pence for a £8 pound brand new book

A bit disappointed as the prices offered are a lot lower than other book sites. WBB used to be the best prices offered but not any more

All straightforward with the website, but We Buy Books are badly let down by Evri (formerly Hermes), which has so far failed to turn up to collect on four consecutive days. I have waited in each day but still Evri has not turned up. The boxes are too heavy to carry to a drop off point. We Buy Books say they cannot directly contact the courier to get an explanation for the no shows. So, sadly, I would not use We Buy Books again unless the boxes were light enough to be carried to a drop off point.

Advertised as 10% extra added on to first trade but when asked how to get it I wasn't helped enough - would be a better system if Webuybooks automatically applied the extra instead of making it difficult for first time users. Mine was a very small amount but it's more the principle that is important. I also think it would work to the advantage of Webuybooks if they changed to this method.

The prices offered via our website or app are based on the supply and demand in the market which is beyond our control, however, this can change quickly if you wanted to check again in the future. Having looked into this further, we can see that the payment was delayed as the box did not arrive with us. As a result, we paid for the items in full and contacted the courier to chase up delivery. Despite the vast majority of packages arriving within five working days, there can sometimes be delays due to unforeseen circumstances. I have sold a few books but may not bother any more as I am constantly told that they are not buying the books I want to sell. Not sure what kind of books they want.

Although we try to buy as many items as possible, this decision is linked to the supply and demand on the market as well as our current stock levels. It may be that we have a surplus of these items in stock at the moment or the items are not selling to a level where we would buy more at this time, however, the supply/demand and our stock levels change quickly and it may be worth rescanning the items in the near future. I have used Music Magpie and they keep you updated of the progress of the order. I didn’t know what was happening with we buy books.

Have recently had 2 books returned because you said - "there was damage to the book spines" On return there was no damage at all and in my opinion, nothing else at all adverse visibly. Not very impressed, probably won't bother using you again.

Hello Duncan, Thank you for leaving a review. We buy the items to find a second home for them so we cannot accept them if they have damage to the binding unfortunately. The damage can get worse and the pages can end up loose in the book. I sell books for charity This company seemed ok when I sent the first box- took ages for the cheque to arrive but we’re generous with their offer! The second box - a different story! It was only a small box BUT they said I’d forgotten to put in 7 books and 2 were damaged!! This is totally untrue and they should be ashamed of themselves!!!
