“We were looking to go back to Botswana and Victoria Falls on somewhat short notice and the team at Wayfairer made it happen easily. Kate, our agent, took her time on a phone call to discuss the general itinerary and regions I wanted to visit as well as what I wanted to avoid based on past experience. She fairly quickly put together a first draft that we fine tuned over the course of a week to make it perfect for what I was looking for. After that, June, our travel concierge took over and stayed in contact throughout the trip to help out with any hiccups. The only one had nothing to do with Wayfairer and was due to British Airways/American Airlines and she quickly arranged for on ground assistance in Johannesburg while I was still in the air. In the end, the trip was everything I had hoped it would be. Communication was excellent throughout and all lodges and hotels were spot-on.”

“From first contact with Wayfairer the experience could not have been better. We contacted them as we were planning our third safari in Tanzania and had specific requirements we wished to be included in the package. The staff at Wayfairer were willing to take the time to satisfy our requirements and provided valuable suggestions which improved the experience. The seventeen days went off without a hitch. The six camps and resorts we visited each had different personalities which made the trip even more fun as we experienced the diverse levels of accommodation and service. All were excellent in their individual way. The animals cooperated and we saw everything we hoped to see. The best testament to the quality of service we received is we are using Warfairer again next year to organize an extended trip to Namibia.”

Our transfers were always waiting and gave a friendly professional service. Our accommodation in all 3 locations was first class and all was stress free with the hire car. They shared plenty of excursion ideas, restaurants etc. We had an amazing memorable time in South Africa and gave us a competitive price too!”

“We took a trip to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana . Safari camps at Sabi Sands and 4 Rivers delta was amazing and one of a kind. We watched the big Five in close quarters and felt exhilarated. “We traveled to Victoria Falls, Botswana, and South Africa using the travel services. We had to make a change in our plans to bypass Keyna due to the riots. Initially, June, our conceirge stated that we would lose our hotel and travel bookings in Nairobi if we change our routing. But, my daughter talked to her and that motivated June to work with her ground team to ensure that we did not have to pay any extra charges for our detour through Johannesberg. That made a big difference to our trip and we appreciate June for her help. This was a difficult change, but once we accomplished that, the rest of the trip was arranged very well by Wayfairer Travel. The greet and meet at the different airports and border crossings made visiting multiple countries (South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Botwswana) a breeze. The local arrangements were done well and the drivers appeared on time and showed us their countries. The drivers in South Africa were bitter about apertheid and wanted us to visit the slums where the displaced people are living. When we wanted to shorten the time in these places and spend time on more touristy places, they were disturbed. Even though their behavior was understandable, we would have liked it if they understood our viewpoint. The stay at the 4 Rivers campground in Botswana was amazing; the staff and guides went out of the way to make our stay enjoyable (and catered to our vegetarian dietary needs). We had the rare privilege of watching six lionesses hunt a buffalo, and the buffalo valiantly fighting and escaping the hunters. Traveling by the bush planes where our safari driver had to shoo away baboons and impala from the dirt airstrip was an unforgettable experience. The hotel in Capetown had amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean and compensated for its location away from the restaurants. Overall, we had a great time in South Africa, thanks to a well-orchastrated trip plan by Wayfairer and flawless execution. We came away with a deeper understanding of the damage caused by apertheid in South Africa and the incredible respect for wildlife and animals held by people of Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. I have never seen such abundance of wildlife in any other country in the world. If we count the number of animals as part of Gross Domestic Product, these countries would be the leaders in the world.”

“We are a family of 5 from Singapore, it was our first time in South Africa. Vernon really understood what we wanted and planned it well for us, location, accommodation. It wasn’t cheap, but we value the insights, safety and efficiency of our trip, from the airport transfers to beautiful locations selected. Peach was also so helpful, we misplaced items and made last minute revisions to timings, but everything was resolved so promptly. I can’t believe she’s not onsite! Great efficiency - it’s makes a holiday relaxed and enjoyable compared to a stressed and harried holiday. Thanks Peach, I am grateful and truly appreciate the help!”

“We are two sisters in our seventies from Australia who booked our Africa trip with Wayfairer Travel. We went to South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Rwanda. Aggie was very helpful organising our customised tour and Lorna was our concierge who answered my many questions. Both ladies were wonderful in catering to our needs - great accommodation, transfers, drivers/guides and even organising a sedan chair for my sister who can't walk very far. In Rwanda, Vincent was our guide/driver, from Speke holidays, who was fantastic. He was very kind, flexible and accommodating in every way. “We have planned a leopard searching safari, we received the most accurate indications to find them. Such an elusive objective was completely accomplished thanks to Waifairer agent's suggestions. We have received very good ones, even to move the dates in order to have best possibilities to reach our goal. More than that, all flights, lodges, schedules were perfect. We stayed in Kafunta and Three Rivers in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, then moved to Umkumbe and Kambaku in South Africa. All this was seamless, made easy for a couple 60+ We also left behind some articles, and all of them, recovered thanks to Wayfairer.”

“We have just returned from Rwanda and Uganda and had an amazing time tracking gorillas and chimps, going on safari and seeing so much of these beautiful countries in an action packed 19 night private tour arranged by Wayfairer. Whilst we had a good idea of what we wanted, Aggie from Wayfairer advised on plans and pulled together a final itinerary which covered everything we wanted to do. Cheapest is not always best and it’s true that we could have had a very similar trip experience for less money, but Wayfairer don’t compromise on accommodation and local tour guides. We were happy to pay that bit more knowing that Wayfairer are a responsible operator.. The trip itself went like a dream. Even before we met our tour guide an airport official was there to meet us off the plane and get us through immigration and to our guide. And from that point on we were so well looked after by Kasamba, our guide from Speke Travel, Wayfairer’s on the ground partners. Kasamba was a brilliant guide and was always polite, friendly, punctual and looked after our safety and well being. He told us so much - about the country history, wildlife, geology, life as an Ugandan growing up and much more. He was chatty and humorous but knew when we wanted to rest in the vehicle (and go into ‘holiday mode’ as he termed it). Kasamba asked us for 30 minutes each evening so we could reflect on the day and he could brief on the following day’s itinerary. He was just great! We stayed at 9 lodges for our trip - all selected by Wayfairer and all (bar 1) were at least as good as we hoped. Some better. Our vehicle was a safari jeep and handled the roads (some not so good!) really well. And having a few days of 6 and 7 hour drives wasn’t too much of an issue and just looking out of the window at the landscapes and village life was so interesting! Just one recommendation - that guests are provided with a pillow for the inevitable naps that are required during such a hectic schedule. the jeep is designed for safari and not sleeping in. Seats do recline but it’s almost impossible to get comfortable due to the road surfaces (no matter how tired you are!). A pillow to lean against the vehicle could have made a big difference! The activities themselves truly excellent. Hunting shoebill in the swamps, safari driving in Queen Elizabeth NP, tree canopy walking and boating up the Kazinga Channel were amazing as were the chimp treks in both countries. But the highlight of course was what we really came for - gorilla trekking! Watch as many YouTube videos of people’s experiences as you want - but you will never really know the magnificence of these creatures until you have met them. Never to be forgotten experience! If we were to book this now, knowing what we know, the only changes would be to try and plan chimp then gorilla trekking late on in the itinerary. We saw both very early on - and everything after that could only be second best ( no matter how awesome!) Thanks to Wayfairer and partners Speke for our trip of a lifetime! 4 stars rather than 5 as there was some early miscommunication on visa requirements and we were provided with the wrong info and link for application. This could have cost us in £ but in the end just cost quite a lot of time in pursuing the wrongly advised route.”

“The bespoke safari trip to Kenya was beyond my expectation. Wayfairer team put up a good show. They were responsive from D1 when I contacting them, arranged video call to learn our needs and came up with a detailed plan. Through the trip their advisory team was very responsive and almost 24x7 online to adjust our needs. Transportation was smooth (we were travel by domestic flights through the trip), resort picks were excellent (especially Eagle View in Mara), and the safari guides were very experienced. If anything to improve, I think the vehicle pick during our safari in Ambosali could be better if it was a closed trunk jeep instead of an open jeep (that national park was very dusty). Overall I'd rate them 5 stars.”

“Our South African holiday was a dream come true. Jess worked tirelessly with me to create the perfect vacation for my husband , our young adult daughters, and me. Every accommodation was top notch. We were in Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Cape Town, and the wine country. I specified that I wanted a car and driver for every transfer an we got so much more. All of the drivers were incredibly knowledgeable and anxious to share their country with us. Wayfairer concierges regularly checked in with us during the trip, but I never had any issues for them because everything had been so well thought out ahead of time. “Wayfairer organised a wonderful trip to Uganda for my family in June 2024. We have travelled with Wayfairer three times now (Tanzania, Ecuador and the Galapagos and Uganda) and each time they have demonstrated their understanding of what we were after. Cissy, Toon and Leonie were great in planning the detail of the trip and were always very responsive in communication, ably accommodating any last minute requests. Our latest trip to Uganda was fantastic and everything went without a hitch. Going to see the Mountain Gorillas of Bwindi was an incredible experience, and one that I would recommend to anyone. Uganda itself is full of variety with rainforest, savannah, lakes and mountains and her people were all friendly and welcoming. Not the best place for a traditional safari, primarily go to see Gorilla and Chimpanzee, but we also saw Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and a variety of antelope, other primates and birds galore. Overall, another great experience and one can have confidence that things will run smoothly when travelling with Wayfairer.”
