"I was looking for a short volunteering program (1 week) to make social impact while travelling abroad and with Volunteering Solutions I found the perfect option for me.\r\nBefore booking, I first reached out to a Program Advisor (Monica) to gather more info on the program and understand whether the timelines would be feasible for me, since I only had a couple of weeks to prepare everything before leaving, due to work. They were super helpful and available to answer all my questions quickly, completely for free. \r\nOnce I arrived in Morocco, I was picked up from a local coordinator and briefed on my volunteering project. Ali was really nice, he introduced me to the other teachers and kids at the childcare where I was volunteering and he was always available to provide me with tips and recommendations about local services (e.g. grocery shopping, laundry, etc.) and places to visit. \r\nAs part of my volunteering program, I had to teach English to kids around 4\/5 years old in a childcare located in the Medina of Rabat. The first day I was a little bit confused because I did not know how to communicate with kids, since I do not speak Arabic, and I did not have any material to share with them. However, for the remaining days I prepared some material to teach them words about the four seasons (e.g. I printed some papers for them to color, I drew myself some memo cards to play a game with them to memorize words). The kids were adorable and I was really impressed by their willingness to learn!\r\nRegarding the accomodation, I stayed in a cozy Riad (traditional Moroccan dwelling) located in the Medina of Rabat (10\/15 minutes by walk from the childcare), where I was provided with a very rich traditional Moroccan breakfast and delicious dinner. \r\nOverall, I really enjoyed the program and appreciated the availability and kindness of all the people that I met along the journey (Volunteering Solutions Staff, Local Program Coordinator, childcare personnel, Riad receptionist, etc.). I think it's one of the best ways to learn more about the Moroccan culture and experience how locals live. I just wish I had more time to volunteer, but I will for sure consider again a program from Volunteering Solutions in the future if I have the opportunity."

“I joined NGO Support program - Human Rights and Women Empowerment in Morocco. First, thank you for support and kindness and support throughout my project. This was my first time to go to African continent by myself, so I got a bit tense at the beginning. However, not only local kind people but also VolSol nice staffs helped me a lot to have a great time there. I worked for local NGO, it has a significant meaning for me since I want to work in another country in the future. That was exactly what I sought for for a long time. Furthermore, I could have great friends there not only staying at Moroccan traditional house. Our relationship will long last. The weather was all beautiful, I didn't use my umbrella even once. However, there were some things that I wanted you to improve. Regarding the very volunteering, I wanted my boss to do instruction and showed me an over view of their work. I could not figure out what I should do for a few beginning days. And regarding house, there were largely 4 points. One is that there are no windows and 2 out of 6 lights didn't work at first, my room was always dark. And there was no laundry in my Riad, I had to pay extra money for cleaning service. And I could not rock up my room. My room was easy to get in, so I was always worried about my belongings and night. And there were no AC in the room, so I couldn't control the temperature in mornings and evenings. If you are interested in this project, support for local NGO, women empowerment and human rights, you should check your belongings well. There are literally nothing except for bed, toilet, shower, washbasin. Overall, the life there was good and will work well for my future, but I wanted to know the facility before especially for security. I think that this program is worth paying on the whole, since we can connect supporter anytime and have house and meals, and great friends. I recommend you join! but don't forget to prepare well enough.”

“Everything was fine, and I had the most amazing time! I wish communication with Volunteering Solutions were better; there was some misinformation or delay in the answers. It actually was a topic between some volunteers in Tanzania. I only felt safer when I talked to a former volunteer who went to the same program as me. Besides that, the people who hosted me in Arusha were the best, always very sweet and welcoming. I'd love to go back! “We finished our program few weeks ago and we really enjoy It! The coordinators are really kind and available. We had fun with children in the morning and we like discover and learn a bit about the culture here. “As a company, Volunteering Solutions made the booking and organisational process very straightforward and were always quick to reply to any questions I had. Upon arriving in the country that my program was based, they were also keen to stay in touch and followed up with emails to check in on my experience during my first few weeks. My only criticism lies within the programme itself - I volunteered as a pre-nursing student and found that in the hospital I worked in, there was very limited opportunities to learn - largely due to either language barriers (as very rarely did nurses or patients speak any English) or due to an unwillingness to teach. This was particularly frustrating, as even when asking the nursing staff if there was anything I could observe or help with, they would simply say ‘no’ and return to the task at hand. Therefore, I would suggest that the company and their partners in the program’s country are more in-touch and can collaborate to ensure that volunteers are getting the best working experience possible.”

“It was a good service, nice people and usually responds within a couple of hours. The project was interesting, although the impact one can have is minimal. The staff in Cusco was also very attentive, when I got sick I got accompanied to the hospital.”

“I had the most amazing, rewarding, and special experience of my life in Ghana with Volunteering Solutions. Emerging into a totally new culture, giving yourself body and soul, learning new things, learning how this culture lives, and living in its day to day life is the most incredible thing in the world! Ghana (specifically Tamale) became my second home, thanks to Fred, his family, the community, and the children at the school and orphanage, who made me feel like I belonged there. “It was such a great experience!! I was 16 years old and I felt really safe with all the organization and the friends that I met there. This was. Such a great experience to valorate the tiny things that we already have at home but not everyone can afford. The only thing is the staying. There is not hot water and it’s a little bit far from where you are doing the volunteer specially if your doing the medical part and need to go to the hospital to help. It’s much better if you contact Makimei Children’s Home directly and they can find you a staying maybe closer from the orfanage and with hot water so that you don’t need to do such a long of a drive.”

“My experience in Sri Lanka with volunteering Solutions was the best of my life so far. I joined the Sea Turtles conservation program and it was a rewarding experience. I particularly appreciated the staff at the Aasha House where I was staying: they were always helpful and respectful. Nonetheless, it was wonderful to meet new people from different countries and cultures but yet sharing interests with me. I have always dreamed about an experience of this kind and I was truly satisfied that I did it. I liked it so much that I decided to join another program also this year, in Thailand. :)”

“I had an amazing and unforgettable experience in Cape Town! Organization was easier than expected and the hostel has a good location. It´s easy to find someone who walks to the supermarket with you or shares an Uber ride to the beach. When you plan your stay you shouldn´t forget about the Uber costs as the project can be quite far away and you will use Uber a lot. Another advice: you won´t need much cash, I paid alomost everything with credit card. I recommend this project 100%!”

“Everything worked very well with Volunteering Solutions. They provided useful predeparture information so you get to know details about your project and what to expect. Besides, they always answer our particular questions and were willing to help with our specific needs and find a suitable solution. There were no hidden costs or anything unexpected and the whole experience stages ended up being as it was explained and suposed to be. Fortunately we did not need to use the onsite assistance but we feel that we have the contact information in case it was needed.
