Didn't work - fell off the windows

Hi Thank you for your review. We are sorry that fitting the film has been unsuccessful. This would only ever happen if you have not removed the fine clear liner from the window film before fitting it, as per the fitting instructions. This can sometimes be difficult to see but will definitely be there. Please do this and try fitting the film again and if you need more advice please call us. Kind Regards Lissa

We are sorry that you feel the film 'Doesn't work'. The sample of the film you have ordered has a protective layer that needs removing once the film has been fitted. Please check that you have done this as this may be what is causing the problems you have had. Kind Regards Lissa

I wanted to like this window film as the last non-Abode film didn't stick. However, a day after applying the film all the pieces unstuck themselves, landing in a pile on the floor. The same thing again, two days later, on the floor. And a third time. So I lay in bed thinking about the problem late into the night, and got it! Attempt No4; I've mixed some PVA wood glue in with the water, sprayed it on and so far, 24 hrs later, the film is still on the window. So the lesson is this. Don't buy Adobe static film unless you want to waste a lot of time and effort trying to make it work.

Hi Thank you for your review. From what you have described this would only happen if the clear liner on the film hadn't been removed before you fitted it. We only wish you had called us or emailed us and we could have explained this to you. It does say to remove the liner in the fitting instructions. Not great product Looked great when it was first fitted but after a few hours started to bubble around the edge. Tried 2 but still no good.

Ordered on 11th Nov with free 2-3 day Royal Mail delivery; tracking received was was never updated. Chased after 5 days, and was sent an EVRI tracking number. Have repeatedly checked and EVRI states "We're sorry, we're not able to deliver your parcel today, but we will deliver it on the next working day." - this has been the case for a week now. 15 days since our order, and still no indication if or when we'll receive it. Next steps are to cancel and go elsewhere in future.

Opted for the 20% mirror tint, absolutely useless no mirroring effect whatsoever

Hello Tim Thank you for your review. I think we have worked out why the film isn't as you expected. You ordered the Light Silver 50% and not the 20%. This would explain why you don't have a mirror effect. If you want to return the film to exchange it for the 20% mirror tint please just email us to arrange. Kind Regards Lissa

Hard to put up without scratching and now my room is so dark it's like permanent nightfall. Really depressing and not sure how much difference it's made to the heat. All my plants are dying including the ones in the windowsill. I'm going to have to take it off and I hope it comes off easily but waste of time and money.

Hello Julia Thank you for your review. We are very sorry that you are unhappy with the window film you ordered. but it seems that the issues you have had are not due to the film being faulty but due to fitting issues and not researching the film fully prior to buying it. The specifications for the film are available on the website and state that the visible light transmission will be 15% once the film is fitted which of course means that the room will be much darker which in turn may affect plants. We always recommend you purchase a sample of any film prior to making a larger purchase to ensure you are happy with it, if you had done this you would have been aware that the film would darken your room. Scratching will only occur if the fitting process isn't followed correctly, unless of course the film is faulty on arrival and if this was to happen we would ask a customer to email a picture so that we can replace it. Not a great product, did everything that they told me to do, but the corners are coming away, waste of money, just get blinds

Hello Ian Thank you for your review. We are sorry that the film you fitted hasn't adhered properly in the corners of your windows. The only reason we have known this to happen is when there is paint on the glass which hasn't been scraped off before fitting the film or the it can also happen if the film hasn't been trimmed properly and is touching the frame/rubber. Although I followed the instructions, the product seemed difficult to install without creasing. Unfortunately once creased, it's ruined. I thought the product was too easily damaged seeing as the window wasn't even that large. Perhaps as a professional installer that is used to its behavior, would get it right, but not a newbie

I ordered the 'look like stainned glass' for a Victorian gothic style house. It's awful! Looks like a cheap bit of coloured plastic cling film! I do not recommend

Hello Wendy Thank you for your review and your recent order. We are truly sorry if you are disappointed with Stained Glass effect window film. The film is as described on our website, 'The coloured pattern is printed onto our Opal frosted window film which gives excellent two way privacy whilst still allowing 80% of light through. This film is an easy to install self-adhesive film and can be applied directly to any smooth glass surface' As the design is printed onto Opal Frost which is a vinyl it does have a feel similar to that of a plastic but once fitted it does transform the glass into a stained glass appearance. Absolute nightmare to fit without air bubbles, complete waste of money. Would not recommend.

Hello Andrew, Sorry to see you have had issues fitting your film. It's common to see small bubbles under freshly-installed film. Normally, these bubbles should go away within a couple of weeks. If they are still remaining, then you can adequately heat the film, then reuse the spray bottle to apply a fine mist of water to the window tint. The cold water interacting with the hot window will loosen the adhesive, making it easier to get the air bubbles out. BEWARE! I ordered what I thought was going to be a film of the sort you find as etched glass in a Victorian door, which is what I was going to use it for. It’s quite pricey so I wanted to get it right. However, the stars and their spacing apart were too big so I went online to return it via the courier ( Evri) email. Unfortunately I couldn’t do this as it didn’t recognise abode window film or Visual signs and Graphics as a company. When I got round to ‘phone them I was told to try putting their postcode in which didn’t work either. Also that 10% would be deducted from my refund as it had been over a week since I received it. I was then told I would have to pay to return it as well.. I am disappointed with Abode’s customer service and definitely won’t be buying from them ever again or recommending them to friends and clients.

Ordered over a .month ago some window film. Failed delivery twice from APC. Requested to re-deliver which I confirmed with APC and your company by e-mail and no delivery arrived on the scheduled day. Had to contact APC again who then told me that they have sent the order back to you!! Despite several e-mails and no response I have still not received the window film. Will give you to end of week to fix this before taking it up with trading standards. You have effectively stolen my money and made no arrangements to deliver my goods. Terrible customer service and would never use or recomend you again.

Does not work as a blackout window covering. Bought this for babies room. It does not stick to window, falls down after like 30 mins and it's not truly blackout. It's more brownish when light is behind it and some light does get through. Very disappointed as the website lead me to believe this would be a great product as a portable reusable blackout blind for a kids room. I'm sorry i bought it and wasted my money.

If the clear liner hasn't been removed from the film before fitting it this could cause it to peel away from the window. Although this doesn't explain why you are not getting total Blackout and light is getting through. Product came damaged, the addition tool was chipped and the spray bottle trigger was cracked. The roll itself was squared off so lost a fair bit of material before I realised. I would not order again.

If you had contacted us when your order was delivered and emailed a couple of pictures we would of course sent replacement film and a new spray bottle free of charge. If we aren't made aware that the products were not in perfect condition when you received them then we are unable to resolve the problem which we would have been more than happy to do. We ordered a sample on the 22/02/24 and it still has not arrived? So can't comment any further than that at present as we still dont have it.

Two attempts to put this on. The second time it went on but when we went to push the bubbles out it cracked. Wouldln't recommend. Had put throw it away.
