Had my 2nd cataract op with Mr. Jonathan Ross at Vision Scotland. The whole process from pre op assessment to the day of surgery was done professionally and recovery was straightforward. 7 weeks on I have good distance vision without glasses and only need glasses for reading. Was treated with care and respect throughout the whole process by all staff I came into contact with. Thank you.

I was really impressed with the service I received this week, the arranging of the appointment and communications around that, and the medical practitioner who carried out the treatment. Both members of staff showed kindness and efficiency, the latter showing great expertise. Thank you both

Special thanks to Dr Ross and his team. Went from being more or less blind in one eye and blurred vision in the other to being able to see clearly again for the first time in over 2years. Fantastic service, excellent after-care. Couldn't recommend the highly enough.

From not being able to see properly to the bottom of the garden, I can now see the birds and flowers in glorious technicolour. Thanks to Mr Ross and his whole Vision Scotland team, the experience was seamless and my eyesight has been transformed.

I had cataract surgery in November arranged through Vision Scotland. The treatment was carried out by Mr. Mantry and his team at Rosshall Clinic, Braehead. From my initial appointment to my final assessment, my care was excellent. I would highly recommend Vision Scotland ( and Mr. Mantry) if considering eye surgery.

I hope that my e-mail to Mr Mantry and his team expresses in the glowing terms I felt when I wrote it and still feel now my enthusiasm for the quality of their work both individually and as a group

I feel very comfortable with Dr Ross. Hospital is very cosy and all staff very pleasant. Optometrist who did my assessment was extremely careful and gentle and explaine everything. I was very scared before my surgery but feel very supportive and didn't feel anything during the procedure. Also post-operative phone call is very reassuring.

Recently completed cataract surgery on my 2nd eye through vision Scotland as NHS lists were so long. I am absolutely delighted with the outcome and process. Took 6 weeks for my consultation which was well explained, informative and thorough with state of the art equipment. The actual procedure 3 weeks later was efficient and relaxed. A very quick 12 minutes or so. Mildly uncomfortable for a couple of days, soothed with eye drops. Well worth it, my vision, driving and quality of life is wonderful. Feel like I have 2 little miracles, thankyou.

I had a disaster of a right eye: extreme myopia (-10dioptre contact lens), astigmatism and a dystrophic cornea with keratoconus. Without my contact lens I was able to make out a car number plate at about 1 yard! With a contact lens it was only a bit better. I consulted Sanjay Mantri who, after considerable deliberation over all my biometric measurements, was very honest about the potential for only a relatively limited improvement in my vision. I decided to go ahead and I attended St Ellen's hospital in Livingstone. Lovely modern facility and lovely staff. Local anaesthetic drops; the procedure was pain-free and seemed to be over in about 20minutes. I'm now able to read a car number plate at about 8 yards and, with a soft contact lens of only +1.5 dioptre, I can read the number at about 20 yards. I continue to be astonished at the improvement in my vision. Thank you to Sanjay Mantri and Vision Scotland.

At the first consultation, I was very impressed by the range of sophisticated technology that measured and examined my eyes. The surgeon then explained in a clear and easy-to-follow manner what needed to be done. The surgery itself didn't take long and it wasn't painful. All the staff were friendly and kind.

I have nothing but praise for the 2 cataract treatments carried out at St Ellen's hospital. From Claire for her very kind, considerate and efficient arrangements, to the friendly nursing staff at the hospital and of course the excellent operations carried by Mr Mantry. The operations were really comfortable and I suffered no after effects following each operation. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hospital to anyone (in fact I already have!).
