“Quite simply the best shopping experience in years. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, no pushiness. Fabulous selection. I was only there to help a friend but also made a small purchase! A third of normal prices. Def worth a visit to the shop.”

“Came upon this place purely by chance(or fate?) when out for a walk with my hubby who detests shopping above anything. We were looking, albeit not actively, for a two seater sofa to fit in our new extension to a detached Victorian house. Once I had managed to drag John into the mill, we were welcomed by an amazing couple who offered us cold drinks and Freshly baked Brownies We fell in love immediately with a gorgeous two seater leather Chesterfield and after having had a tour of both floors, also bought a really quirky floor lamp and two equally fun table lamps The process was quick, easy and not in the least pressured. We collected with ease from the warehouse but delivery was an option if necessary. What an amazing place and we wish them all the very best as they are clearly selling beautiful items that are well made and good value Thank you”

“The Vintage Sofa Company is a must for anybody wishing to have stunning furniture within their home. The mill I could spend hours there looking at the most fabulous creations Kate and family have put together to give you the feel of what the furniture would look like in your home. Since visiting a few years ago now I have transformed most of my rooms with advice given by Kate. Her taste is just so unique and she happily advises even down to the right colours for our décor to go with the furniture we have purchased. The customer service is amazing throughout the whole team. I cannot recommend The Vintage Sofa Company highly enough.”

“I moved house this year and was looking for a while for a new sofa-then i came across your website and instantly fell in love with your sofas. i watched your video and was so inspired that I made the 2 hour journey to your mill and although it was abit of a treck up hill to your mill in my car it was definitely worth it!! I received a very warm welcome and i had excellent service. I purchased a beautiful 3 seater and 1 seater teal sofa set as well as a beautiful persian rug. Today (only 3 days after purchasing my order arrived and i am so satisfied, pleased and delighted with the quality of furniture. Thankyou so much again.”

“Sales service was very good. After sales has been non-existant. We have an issue with the 2 seater insofar as the back legs are too short making the sofa lean backwards.....looks odd and is uncomfortable. I have sent 2 e-mails ( 1 auto reply) and made several un-answered 'phone calls”

“Ordered a sofa in 2020 (special size) - product delayed because of Covid which is totally understandable. Two sofas delivered that weren’t the correct sofa. new sofa found and delivered but this time with wrong base. After going backwards and forwards it was agreed a new base would be made and a technician sent to fit (second lock down delayed this until last week) old base removed, new one was offered up but is too big…old base put back but now damaged…both emails to store asking for refund or total replacement ignored, so as of Friday 23rd July I will be entering a claim through the small claims process. Happy to provide pictures”

“I followed this company for months before finally visiting the mill. I liked the fact they looked like a family run small company. The service in the mill was great placed my order and paid upfront for a sofa 2 chairs and a footstool. I was told the sofa and chair would be delivered in time for Christmas as they were in stock. The other chair and footstool were special order so would be 12 weeks. Was told that covid wouldn’t affect my order as the tweed is made in Scotland and manufactured in uk!! I didn’t get my first delivery for xmas and had to chase. My chair and footstool turned up 6 months later. Wrong bespoke chair and wrong feet on footstool. Told I would have to wait up to another 30 weeks to get the correct chair!! I was not an unreasonable customer at any point. Tried to communicate with the family who run the business. Unfortunately they don’t deal with any after sales service. Maybe something to look into as the company have so many happy customers with the only complaints being from after sales. Such a shame I have ended up taking a refund so I don’t have to deal with them anymore. It shouldn’t take many days to reply to a simple email. Great products. Hopefully service will be better at top secret furniture who sell similar stuff”

“Not the easiest place to find the Sat Nav took me to Luddenden Foot but not to Jowler Mill.Iif you get to the village take the right hand fork down the hill then go up the hill until you see a small sign for Vintage Sofa Co. Ltd. on your left if you reach houses on a coble road you have gone to far. But once you step inside the mill you know the Journey has been worthwhile, as the WOW factor hits you with a fantastic selection of sofa's and chairs and fixtures and fittings to browse while you enjoy the complementry Coffee and Tray Bake. We spent 2 hours browsing before ordering a bespoke sofa and 2 chairs, alright we may have to wait 6 months for delivery, but if you want quality furniture made specifically to your requirements who cares. The staff and owners are really lovely people and nothing is a problem and there is no pressure selling. We came away with the cushions for our furniture and a silk iris plant and lusting after a wooden cupboard unit just a shame it was to large. We would love to go back but its quite a drive from our home near Newcastle upon Tyne.”
