“My husband and I were out walking and exploring the valley one day when down from inverness to visit my elderly mother. I happened to spot a small sign for ‘Sofas’ on a tree and having persuaded my husband that this could be interesting, we discovered a disused mill along a single track wooded lane which held intrigue for us. We were welcomed immediately one Teri g by the most fantastic and friendly staff - offered coffee and home made brownies and fell in love with the furniture and more on display. No heavy sales pitch - not necessary as everything on display has been chosen with care and love. Aware that we were simply out for a walk on a glorious day - perhaps hoping for a sandwich and a cold beer in a pub garden, I’m sure the staff must have thought we were nuts when we bought a stunning leather Banbury sofa, a wacky floor lamp and much more. Although the staff offered to have the goods delivered to inverness for us, I determined we would get them in the back of our Volvo V90 which we did next day!! We have since returned each time we are back down to visit mum and have made purchases on each of our last 4 or 5 visits. The website does not do this fabulous hidden gem justice as it’s s wonderful place to explore and be inspired with furniture, rugs, mirrors, lamps, clocks, wacky paraphernalia and much much more. A fantastic family business with tremendous staff on hand - I thoroughly recommend this place.”

“An Aladdin’s cave for grown ups! There are so many wonderful, quirky and classy pieces throughout the warehouse. Well worth the visit and you get coffee and cake for doing so! “What an amazing company. Such great service from start to finish! We purchased 2 sofas in airforce blue 4 seater and a 3 seater The Marnie. We also purchases a peacock and floral Selfridges chair and ottoman. We adore them all. If I had all the money in the world I'd be purchasing alot more from The Vintage Sofa Company! X”

“Seem to have a cult following online but beware. The customer service veneer is significantly thinner than the material on their sofas! Like everyone else we were enthralled by Jowler Mill. What a wonderful place - totally enchanting and, seriously, I'd volunteer to work there. Same with their products - beautifully crafted and bespoke. What's not to Like? Well, their attitude to paying customer is shocking. We fell in love with a couple of sofas and fell for the spiel. Hook, line and sinker! A few thousand well spent we thought. Delivery in a few weeks at a fraction of the price we'd spent at Loaf. The salesman made reference to checking we could get the sofas into our property. Need 75cm to be sure. Oh no, our doors won't accommodate that. No problem get a window taken out when they deliver and Bob's your uncle. We'll no actually - the limiting measurement when going through anything other than a door is the height. In our case about 110cm. Try as they might and they were exceptionally patient and helpful (as was the glazier). No, no way, never going through that window ever! Swift call to customer services - no problem we'll just take it back for a refund. Ahhhh - wait a minute young person on end of phone - you don't make those kinds of decisions!!! Few minutes later - rang back by head honcho - can't take back unless we pay them £700 for them to remarked as it's bespoke!!! What a load of old tosh. So delivery made - VERY unhappy customers with several thousand pounds worth of sofas that will only fit in the bedroom!! Are we downhearted - no the daughter just has enough seating for 15 people in her bedroom. Moral of story - some people come across as all nicey nicey but when push comes to shove and money involved show their true colours. And they aren't nice!! Salesmen, delivery guys and craftsmanship excellent - 6 stars. People making the big decisions - zero rayed penny pinchers. And - just for reference - they have done themselves out of double the money because we would have spent a fortune in there again and again and again. NOT NOW!!”

Without seeing your property in person we cannot determine whether the items will fit or not. Please do note, all bespoke purchases are non-returnable as per our terms and conditions, which will have been provided to you at the point of sale. In situations such as yours, we try and accommodate as best as we can. Your order was in Festival Blush, which is a colour we never usually sell, therefore in this case we agreed to accept the item back with a fee. If we took back all custom made sofas that did not fit through customers doors, we would not be able to sell these at the same original value they once were. The charge was applied to allow us to sell in our showroom at a discounted rate, as this is not a colour we would usually sell. I hope you can understand this. Thank you for sharing your feedback about our salesman, delivery team, and manufacturer. We're thrilled to hear that they met your expectations and provided exceptional service. “We went to Jowler Mill to try out some of the beautiful sofa’s. We received such a friendly welcome and were handed coffee and tray bake, and from that point on our experience was fantastic. I purchased a Marnie and a Haworth in airforce blue and the process and buying and delivery was made so easy. Even with a delivery to Scotland and requiring a two week delay to finish our decorating, the whole experience was completely uncomplicated. One of our sofas had a small bruise on it and nothing was too much trouble and the repair team were out very quickly and within half an hour the sofa was perfect. I love the comfort and style so much that I recently purchased a corner sofa in emerald green from ex-display. Having been to the mill and also experiencing the service, I knew confidently that an ex-display would be like new, and I was not disappointed. The sofa is perfect and in pristine condition and this is testament to how well the furniture is cared for by the Vintage Sofa Co family team. If you haven’t been to visit, you just need to! And I cannot recommend the furniture enough. It is beautiful and amazing quality.”

“Absolutely amazing! I have been dreaming of owning one of the sofas from here for a few years now so when we needed a new one it was the only place to go even though it was a 3 hour drive away. Our sofa arrived within a week and I am absolutely in love with it. It makes out home look even more classy! The service is top notch, from the online conversations to the greeting on arrival. Lovely coffee and tasty cake to get you in the mood for shopping. I can't recommend enough! We will be back for more items for the house.”
