“Pleased when it eventually arrived but lead time and customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I appreciate the challenges of COVID but also feel that 4 week turnaround is too long and should be stated at point of order + confirmation email and NOT just on the home page of the website. The tracking feature never updated so I didn't know its progress and customer service either never responded or took 1 week plus so I was in the dark! I needed it as a gift for someone so if you're in the same boat I would go elsewhere to somebody with a more reliable and accurate delivery timeline. Never got any form of apology when reply did eventually come to my requests for update.”

We are ever so sorry that you feel this way. I can see that nearly all replies went to you 1-2 days after you sent them in and we feel this is more than an acceptable timely response.

“It arrived and it was broken in the post not enough packaging the slate corner was completely smashed off lettering was good but disappointed in the fack it was damaged and can't be used”

Hi Ian, we are ever so sorry to hear that your sign arrived damaged. Unfortunately, casualties do happen sometimes despite how well we may wrap them. Especially as slate is such a brittle material. I can also see that you were fully refunded at your request. We can, again, only apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“I have sent 3 emails of complaint about my recent door number plague. None of which have been replied to. Order no. 000006945. My complaint is that the font size is small when I ordered large. The background colour is grey when the picture shows white background, which is what I requested. The front acrylic plate is scratched. Over all not happy with The quality of the order or the customer service, which is very poor. I would definitely not recommend this company.”

We are very sorry to hear that your sign was not as expected. I can see that you requested for both of your number and your street name to be large, which means you are requesting them to be the same size. This then created the number to be small. This is also how your live preview would have shown before deciding to order. All that needed to be done was to make sure that the number was large, and the street name was medium and then the live preview would have shown the exact layout you intended. This is the purpose of the live preview, to make sure you're happy with how it looks before ordering. We are ever so sorry if this wasn't clear to yourself and I can see that we have resolved your order for you as a gesture of goodwill.

“Our product has finally arrived and we do love it but I’m unable to review Village Green Signs any higher than 2 stars. This review is due to the communication, or lack of, from the date I placed the order. I completely understand we’re in unprecedented times and we’re all experiencing difficulties but having been given an idea of delivery we heard nothing. I tried emailing, Facebook messaging and phoning numerous times and only after over a week of chasing to see whether the order was being honoured did I get a reply and then it still took even longer to be delivered. I felt let down and would have expected better, more transparent communication if you’re happy to take the order and money from my account.”

We are ever so sorry that your reply took a few days longer than usual. We were extremely busy and were responding to everyone as quickly as we could. Once you had sent your enquiry in, an email would have gone back to you to advise of this. We can only apologise for the inconvenience. We are, however, thrilled to hear that you love your new house sign!

“I was disappointed with the overall presentation of my house sign. The lettering was quite big and in order to fit the size of sign it resulted in a particularly small gap between words. Unfortunately, although I did raise a concern to date this has not been addressed.”

“I purchased a sign with a fox on but unfortunately the colour of the fox was not like the sign advertised, so I was very disappointed.I think it might be an idea to mention on the site that colours may vary.I was offered a small 10% discount.Taking all this in to account I would not buy from again.”

“Not the five star product I thought I was buying . Aluminium backer plate had to be finished with sandpaper and was clearly lacquered around the edges looked like it had been cut with a band saw. Cheap screen printed front. Not a happy chap.”

“Ordered 2 slate signs on 7/10/19 and didn’t receive them until 9/6/19 after multiple inquiries to customer service. Was told the product was shipped, yet I couldn’t get a tracking number. Then was told an error occurred and the signs would be shipped right away. Again I could not get this company to give me a shipping number to track and again nothing showed up. Finally 2 months later the slate signs showed up and were damaged. The corners busted off due to being shipped in a cardboard envelope with one layer of bubble wrap orotund them. Nothing protecting the corners. I am completely disgusted and disappointed with these slate signs. The quality is poor, the customer service was poor and the wait time was ridiculous. Several emails to customer service and waiting 2 months for busted slate house signs. I will absolutely never make a purchase from this company again. BUYER BEWARE.”

“Having paid £80 and waited 2 months for this wall plaque I had high expectations that were not met. In my opinion the most important thing about a house number plaque is that the number is clearly visible to visitors and tradesmen. The dimensions of the plaque are 250 mm by 180 mm yet the house number is only 23 mm by 18 mm, which is far too small. Fortunately the wall of my house is only 1.5 metres from the pavement and 3 metres from the road so the number is visible, albeit not obvious. If my house was set further back it would serve no useful purpose. Although very pretty, a further criticism is that whilst the plaque is mounted level on the wall, the number itself is slightly leaning. For £80.00 I expect better than that. I am going to upload 2 photo's, one a close up and the other from the road, so that others can judge the credibility of my review for themselves.”

“I ordered what a Cast Iron Oval house sign, when it arrived it is made of Resin! I have left a message to Village Green to return it. Although the package was marked as Fragile the delivery driver dropped it over my 7 foot side gate as I wasn't in. Not impressed”

“I ordered two signs and after a few weeks received jut one. I have tried calling 4 times but got no answer and in fact the phone was put down on two of these occasions and I have also e-mailed but now after 5 days have still not had a reply. Very unhappy. Although I am writing this review for the benefit of others I suspect I will still not hear from Village signs as they probably don't read the reviews!”

“The size of the sign its self was fine, but the lettering is very poor,the white colour used is so thin you can see the slate behind it. I will be surprised if it last a winter where we live.”

“the font colour should be pure white and not grey, it was printed with thin white paint, so the colour of the font appears grey. The thin paint will not be last long before it fades away. I think I might paint the number with some white paint later, better to get an engraved one than this.”
