Avoid like the plague. Booked appointment to fix boiler at 11, engineer didn't turn up. Spoke to aggressive receptionist who said he was running late and would be there "soon". I rang a further 3 times over the next 2 hours after being told "he's on his way" each time. Eventually same aggressive receptionist admitted engineer had been held up at another job and couldn't leave. An engineer finally arrived at 3, did the "repair". A week later boiler went wrong again, same fault.

There is peace of mind when you use VHL. They will call you to say they are 15 minutes away. Their prices are up front, reasonable and they are reliable.

I needed 3 items of work to be done by a plumber. Your plumber arrived promptly, as arranged, and carried out the most urgent piece of work satisfactorily. I described to him the other two things I want done, he took photos and said for both he would have to look into the availability and price of components before he could give a quotation. I am disappointed that I have heard nothing more in several weeks, so have concluded that you are not interested in the work and I will be making other arrangements. C A Lewis

Completely useless. I had to get a different company in to actually fix the problem, which it turns out was very simple. Also, VHL were completely unresponsive to my emails DO NOT use this company

VHL serviced our Vaillant Boiler recently. The Engineer was punctual and carried out the task promptly and efficiently. We hope to use them for the Annual Service in the future. HK of Park Street

Good service from VHL. Had one of their boilers since 2009, get a yearly service through Homeserve insurance - which is expensive when you don't need it. Problem this weekend, noticed it Friday morning, no heating, hot water. Called them five o'clock Friday eve, engineer booked for Saturday. Called me at 08:45 to say he'd be with me between 11am/2pm. Showed up at 12:15, worked on the boiler, diagnosed the fault, gave good advice, was clean, polite and professional. First time this boiler has given me any cause for thought, so no complaints from me.

Please avoid this company. The price I was quoted before arranging a Saturday afternoon engineer visit AND fix to a F75 Vaillant boiler fault code was £140 + vat. The engineer's 20 minute diagnostic visit determined that I would need a new pump. I was not told in advance that all their parts suppliers closed at 12 midday, so the pump would not be possible to obtain until after the weekend. The quote for the new pump was £250 for the unit + 2 hours labour to install which came to over £400. Despite the fix being included in my original quote, two days later £168 was taken from my bank account with no invoice provided. I went to an a different heating company and had the new pump replaced and fitted for a total cost of £245 parts and labour. This quote was comparable to others I received, none were over £290, certainly not the over £400 quote I got from VHL. The company were completely unsympathetic when I called them afterwards to discuss this blatant overcharging and dishonest attitude.

Engineer seemed competent but there were major issues. First of all the telephone operator had mixed up the times, telling me morning and writing afternoon in the instructions to the engineer. After I called to enquire the engineer came, but there was a clear sense that he had just had a full morning and was tired and had had no lunch and didn't want to be there. At this point it turns out that the phone operator had not relayed the key aim of the visit to him: to get a gas safety certificate. He did not seem to believe me that I had told the operator this as it was not written in his record. In the end I got no certificate but he did do a general check and gave some advice. I didn't get around to asking for a partial refund.

He reported there was no carbon monoxide alarm when there was on which was in the same room and in date too. Also reported poor ventilation when the room had a window and door. I called the office to get the CP12 certificate changed

Spent 2days chasing a quote. Needed a report for the works required so I could send to the freeholder, still to this day they haven't bothered to send it. Absolutely disgusting service. Would never recommend or use again.

We have been very happy with the prompt and very good service we have had this year. We are nice and warm again! We have recently recommended you to our neighbours at No 1 Borrowdale who were very impressed by your very prompt response in getting them out of a difficult situation. We had 5 estimates for our Central Heating this included removing the existing system. VHL were not the cheapest (middle cost) but there were the only ones to offer Copper piping throughout (as we live in a large but old appartment ) they were also very knowledgeable on how to run the pipework in the best configuration from the Attic down to our flat. The whole process was discussed with Bruno and Nathan who were both very experienced and professional in there approach. I would certainly pass there name on to others who need central heating. There were also clean and punctual in there approach. Well done Jeff . Pinner

I was not happy with the service provided VHL it cost me a lot of money to be left with the same problem. The engineer spent half a day apparently fixing my boiler. A week later he return for the same fault, he said that he could not find out exactly where the fault was and did not won’t to just change parts that COULD be causing the problem! which is very commendable given that it cost me £400 the previous week to fix the same problem F62/F27 after replacing a number of parts. he then suggest that It would be better to go directly to valiant.
