Whilst out in the recreation ground, playing her usual game of ball, my dog sliced her top pad off, as well as cutting deep into her leg. I feared she may have cut a main artery, as there was so much blood oozing out. So I telephoned her veterinary practice immediately, and was guided to Vets Now Out of Hours, by a pre-recorded message; be it 9am Sunday morning, staff are resting! I telephoned Vets Now, and was told there would be an initial £120 call out fee, which later changed to £160 when being invoiced. Whilst driving my dog there, her paw soaked through two blankets, as well as having soaked through two bath towels whilst at home telephoning. Upon arriving, I was made welcomed, but had to wait almost 30 minutes before being seen. The staff member that checked her, was also friendly, and explained she would need the wound flushing, and stitching. I then got a telephone call at home, three hours later, telling me she was ready to go home. When I got there, I was a bit shocked to see her bandage was soaked with blood, as well as a veterinary nurse telling me, they accidently snipped a small vein whilst cleaning the wound. I was also told, due to the difficulty of sticting the wound, it may be the pad might need removing. However, although this information was helpful to know, they told me it should take approximately two weeks to heal, yet it was almost five weeks in healing. Thus a ten minute walk after the two week period, left the wound breaking open and bleeding. However, I accept the wound was stitched to the best they could do, and the wound has healed lovely now. They also prescribed four days of medication, ample to keep her calm and in minimum pain. I probably would use Vets Now if there was no other option, and it was an emergency again, but I would make sure their emergency fee didn't creep up from what was originally quoted, as the fees from the surgery and medication are high enough.

Would give zero if possible! Took our bitch with her newborn puppies to the Vet, told a certain amount on the phone. After we saw the Vet ( who said the pups looked fine bar one may be touch & go) reception wanted double the consultation fee as the vet checked the pups over ( took 2min!). All our puppies sadly passed away. So our instinct was right that something was going on! I good Vet should have picked up that they were getting dehydrated etc. Avoid!!!!!

My kitten was ill and they wrote him off before I even arrived as because of how young he was and never gave him medical treatment! I was willing to pay anything but they sent him home with us and wouldn’t help any further. He died. I hold them accountable not because he died but because they never even tried to help!

Our pet rabbit was very sick when we arrived. But we wanted to see whether anything could be done. When we arrived, Molly was whisked away and we were left in a deserted waiting room with no communication for over half an hour. By the time we were brought in, many hundreds of pounds of expenditure had been committed - way above the charge flagged to us on the phone. I felt the process was incredibly poor. I don’t think it was in keeping with the terms and conditions. But family was too upset to argue about it. Actual care and service by the veterinary staff was very good. But process was very bad.

We experienced the most traumatic experience when we rang VETS NOW in Tunbridge Wells with an emergency. Our pet French Bulldog had a seizure and we rang to take him to Tunbridge, we were told that it was not possible as they were too busy, and told to go to Maidstone( no idea where this is or was) we asked for an alternative and then were asked to go to Caterham which at least we had an idea where this was. Caterham Vet was able and reassuring. On returning home the dog had another seizure, and we again sought help from Caterham who suggested we wait until the following morning and then take the dog back to Tunbridge Wells, which was closed. Our own vet is closed on Saturday so we were then told to go to another vet, who said they could not treat him. Eventually at 1500 hours we drove 2 hours to the Royal Vet College Potters Bar where we received excellent treatment. Without doubt the experience was traumatic and one we never wish to repeat again in our lives. The service provided by your organisation that evening was appalling, due to the fact not enough resources, overworked tired staff, and little consideration for animals and the owners

Satisfied by the professional but caring attitude of staff. Unfortunately the painkiller my rabbit was given made him too sleepy to eat so his condition worsened overnight and he had to attend his own vet as as day inpatient the next day. The vet at Vets Now did explain his choice of drug, which I agreed to, but with hindsight I'm not convinced it was the best option for a rabbit with stasis.
