“The first essay was very good in the content it covered, and vocabulary was of a high standard. It would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that one paragraph just didn't make sense. The second essay, I think by a different writer. Good content, would have been 5 stars, but the last paragraph for example used words that were too esoteric. But I will definitely use UK Essays again”

“What went well You discussed the economic issues You identified s36 and Norgan You included some analysis but needed to support it with academic source material. Generally good referencing in the bibliography What could be improved (a) You needed to cover private sales and Human Rights. (b) You needed to develop s36 and the economic issues. (c) It was too detailed on pre AJA position. You did not need to include for example much on the cases or the Payne Committee. (d) You also could have cut out the Pre Action Protocol which we have not covered this year. (e) Has the position in Northern Ireland changed since 1996? (f) Use the most up to date material you can. There are lots in the reading list and on the formative activity. Being out of date meant that you didn't cover some of the relevant issues. (g) You needed to explain why the lender could take possession without a court order in Ropaigealach. (a) Make sure your sources are up to date. These are way too old. (b) back up your points with authorities (eg business property p3) (c) Put edition numbers in for the books. (d) Footnotes - first name and then surname. (e) Send a plan to a tutor or come along to a drop in session to discuss what you are covering. The main issue here is that you didn't cover enough content. 48%”

When assessing a case study, it is important to focus on what is relevant and pertinent for the patient and not simply trying to cover everything you have covered in the year's lectures and seminars. This is part of the assessment criteria and if you simply try to cover everything from your lecture materials, you will be marked down for irrelevant discussion that does not contribute to the best interests assessment for the specific patient in the case study at hand. Please note that similarity or matching content are not necessarily plagiarism. It is important not just to look at the number or percentage of similarity but to look further into what is actually showing as matching content. There are many things that may well be showing as matching but they are perfectly natural and expected. For example, references/sources, case names and legislation will have been cited by thousands of students and so it is expected that these will be showing as a match. Also, common terms and phrases and quotations that are referenced are not plagiarism. When looking at what is matching, the concern arises if you see large blocks of text matching that are not any of the above.
