When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Quick, simple and easy to use. Got a quote in seconds and it was super easy to do. Clear & helpful information. Used true traveller before COVID and have to cancel due to the virus and again it was so simple to do and now I have rebooked with them because it is the best insurance.”

“Tuetraveller was the only insurance I was eligible to take out for Canada, which covers COVID, as it offered cover for + a year and i had not been back in the UK for the last 6 months. Great customer service over the phone though and pretty comprehensive, I found it had a good reputation for a straightforward claims process from other backpackers on the Facebook groups. The only downside is it is very expensive in comparison to other companies, I paid over £800 for basic cover and it doesn't even include baggage/passport loss/theft, manual (farm) work or winter sports, which will add up to way over 1k if I need to take it out (!!).”

Hi there Thanks for your review. When you bought your policy with us online, you decided to go for our mid-range Traveller policy, with some extras. Our True Value product would be better value for you. The fact is, for 2 years of continual cover, travel insurance does appear to be expensive, but the reality is you're paying much less than the equivalent of a cup of coffee a day for medical cover. If you want to change to the True Value policy and get a refund of the difference, please just contact our team. The True Traveller

“The best value for money. I extended my travel insurance for another 12 months with no problem. Easy and straightforward online administrator. Customer support is quick and competent. There is no better option on the market for me. My next travel is gonna be definitely with True Traveller. EDIT AFTER ACCIDENT: I had really positive experience with TrueTraveller. Honestly, I didn't even expect that all would be so fast. Hands down, their processes are really good. Everything was smooth and straightforward. I really appreciate your support during my treatment. I felt like a person in need you take care of and not like a number in your CRM.”

“Having had to change my travel plans because of Covid-19, the service I received from True Traveller was even better than I'd hoped for. I'd hoped they would let me alter the dates and location of my trip (was going to India, now just Europe) I'd taken out additional cover for a 6500m mountain which I'd also no longer be needing. Instead of just altering my policy, they gave me a full refund so that I could take out a new policy at about half the price. I wish more companies treated customers this way.”
