When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“I bought insurance for a long travel in early 2020 but I returned home early because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Following this unfortunate event, True Traveller gave me a partial refund, which was highly appreciated.”

“i had a policy with True Traveller which i took out in January 2020, before the outbreak of Covid-19. whilst i was away my family back home contacted true traveller for advice about the best way forward for my travels and how to get home. they were amazing and provided my family with reassurance as well as providing information which massively impacted what i should do. additionally, their website is laid out simply and effectively which made it very easy to find out information. the only thing that i would highlight is that it seems to be alot harder to claim money back if you DONT have a plus insurance which unfortunately i did not take out but i would have if this was made clear to me when i was advised which policy to take out. other than that, my experience with TT has been positive and i would recommend.”

“Easy to purchase online when already abroad. Covers COVID-19 as long as the virus isn't present at time of taking out policy (fair enough). My other policy was due for renewal with too many caveats so this policy was a great choice. It's expensive (twice as much for 3 months as an annual multi trip policy) but worth it for peace of mind given the extraordinary circumstances. Hopefully I won't need it.”

“True Traveller is my chosen insurance, for more than a year. I like their clear policy descriptions, and also the fast communication when I'm in doubt of something. I only needed to do a claim one time, but that was painless and super fast.”

“Even though the policy doesn’t cover any illness related to COVID-19. It was great to be able to get insurance to cover emergencies when my trip got extended due to travel distruptions. And I got a timely reply to any email checking up on questions. Great service”

“I used this insurance for the first time during my IEC in Canada (then extended my travel and used it while in USA and Brazil) and I was really impressed. The costumer service is ready to help and communication via email and chat is always fast and clear. Being able to make a claim online makes it definitely easier. Because of the positive experience now it is my first choice.”

“The process to insure our trip with True Traveller was very straightforward and also one of the best deals we could find in a very busy market... also, my partner had to put in a claim as we had some issues when travelling, and the process to claim was also very easy going and the payout occurred in the shortest time imaginable after sending them all the necessary documentation! “Avevo questa assicurazione già da un anno, dato che mi hanno proposto il rinnovo con il 10% di sconto, ho colto l'occasione per rinnovare di un altro anno. Fortunatamente non ho mai avuto bisogno di usarla e quindi non posso giudicarli in merito a come si comportano in casi pratici. Al momento tutto ok.
