When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Consiglio vivamente di scegliere questa assicurazione di viaggio tra le tante sul mercato. Semplicissima da personalizzare tra le tante opzioni che proprone, con un semplice click online. True Traveller é inoltre una delle poche assicurazioni che é possibile attivare se state già viaggiando a prezzi competitivi. Il personale del customer service é gentilissimo e disponibile. Una volta avviata la pratica in un paio di settimane ho ricevuto il rimborso dei soldi spesi per il trattamento di un'infezione batterica che ho effettuato in Tailandia. Mi sono trovata benissimo io stessa, la consiglio e la risceglieró per prossimi viaggi sicuramente!”

“Here is the struggle to write this review ...... Of course we would like the cost of our insurance possibly refunded by way of a prize for submitting this input But how can we write a comprehensive opinion when all we've done to earn this opportunity is to have applied and paid for True Traveler insurance online? Not had to claim so far Great interactive site - easy to buy Brilliant that you can apply whilst already traveling Qualifying medical criteria questions were fair BUT True Traveller website was horribly late adding specific Corona information pages Impossible to ring them. Felt very alone for a while Buy or no buy? We'll let you know”

Dear Mrs Cowie Thanks for your review. We ask people to leave a review if they want to, and as you took out an extension policy with us we asked you to review us based on any claims you may have made, or other experience you had with us. For people making new insurance applications, they’re just asked about the process of booking. The Coronavirus FAQ page, which is visible on all the pages on our website by the yellow bar at the top, was put on our site back on 5 March, almost a week before the WHO pandemic announcement and the blanket warning put out by the Foreign Office. For a while, it was updated many times a day, and it’s still there, giving advice for our customers. By 23 March, we were, in common with airlines, other insurers, and travel companies, under immense pressure from an avalanche of emails and phone calls. As we have so many travellers overseas, a lot of whom do not have SIM cards for international calls but rely on WIFI instead on their smart phones, we always receive more Live Chat and emails than phone calls, so we took the decision to close the phone lines temporarily and just concentrate on email and LiveChat, to enable us to answer the maximum number of queries. We did put that information on the contact us page on our website and announced it on the message system on our phone lines. If we’d kept all channels open, it would have taken hours for customers to get through to us on the phone, and many days to receive a reply to an email even with us working 7 days a week. We switched our phone lines back on 20 April. We’re very sorry you felt alone. Our 24/7 Emergency Medical Assistance Number was up and running all the time, and although you never contacted us by LiveChat or by email, had you have done, you’d have received a quick reply, or a call back if you’d requested it. “Excellent product and nice internet product page with clear, easy to understand descriptions of the product, add-ons and limits & restrictions. I had to extend my trip due to Coronavirus and my existing insurer didn't offer me suitable cover. True Traveller allows you to take out insurance while on your trip, unlike many other travel insurance products. Brilliant stuff!”

“It was so easy to extend my True Traveller insurance. I received an email reminder about expiry a couple of weeks beforehand, went online and completed it within minutes. I was also given a 10% discount for renewing. Being able to extend insurance whilst out of your home country is fantastic 👍”

“Due to the closing of borders following the pandemic, my travel insurance with AIG had lapsed and they refused to renew it. True Traveller have let me take out a new policy whilst still abroad which can renewed month on month. Exceptional service and extremely reassuring.”

“Easy to set up. Compared to other companies everything was very clear & straightforward to understand. Great that there is a 2 year IEC policy option. Super simple to make policy changes. When I had to make 2 claims the process was very smooth, with no arguing, just timely transfers into my bank! Would highly recommend True Traveller.”

“My insurance was due to expire whilst I was in Canada. Rather than renew it I took out a policy with True Traveller as it was both far simpler and cheaper. Although I haven't needed to make a claim thus far, I have been really impressed with how clear everything was on the website.”

“Been with True Traveller for 4 consecutive years now and literally can't fault them. The online application is really easy and straightforward, any claims are dealt with swiftly and the proficiency, care and compassion from the customer service team is second to none. They have a wide range of options to suit every traveller even if your already travelling or are going one way!!! I wouldn't go with any other insurance company!”
