When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“I am only rating my booking experience which was 5 stars. Quick and easy with nice options. And surfing is included with the basic insurance option which I didn't expect. I think the price is fair. As for the insurance itself I can't know because I didn'thave to use it so far (and I hope I don't have to in the future) What I like is that its for all european citizens and that it takes you less then 5 minutes to get it. My reason for choosing true traveller: I was already in asia when my credit-card insurance expired after three months and most insurance companies don't give you the insurance when you are already travelling. Not with True traveller - you can just tick "Already travelling" and thats it. So for me reason enough and I am very confident that they are trustworthy. Would be cool if True Traveller could also allow ppl from outside europe to take the insurance.”

“Easy to use website, good to have choices in level of cover. We were happy that they cover one way travel at no extra cost as we struggled to find a UK insurer to cover our trip home through the USA when we weren't returning to the UK. Reasonable price. Can't give 5 stars as haven't had to claim yet.”

“Comprehensive, clear policy, particularly suited to more active travellers or volunteers. Have received a quick reply whenever I've contacted them, though I've fortunately not needed to claim yet. I know other people who have claimed through them and they said the process went smoothly.”

“I spent some time looking at different insurers for my trips. I came back to True Traveller for a second time because of how easy, clear and adaptable their policys are. It allows me to include exactly what I need and I can easily see the added cost of the extras i chose. It's simple to use their website and I feel confident that I am paying for the policy I want so that makes it really good value.”

“My True Traveller experience is 100% straightforward, efficient and no-nonsense budget policy. Simple to use and covers essentials that I had in mind. Revived timely follow up to extend my first policy and got -10% off on extension, haven't made any claims but feel that would be a breezy experience as well.”

“Was very cautious when it cane to booking insurance as I knew the cost was likely to be expensive as I am looking at 2 years cover. Though my nerves quickly disappeared when using the site due to the amount of options available to tailor the insurance and its coverage. And this when compared with other insurance sites presented clear reasons to stick with TrueTraveller The price was reasonable for the coverage, and most importantly, covers me for the two years of travel which other insurance sites only cover 18 months. Pleasure to use, easy to use, and hassle free which has now left me with one less thing to think about for trip as I am no insured!”

“I have just renewed my policy with true traveller because I’ve found their service to be excellent. Their cover is exactly what I need and they are always quick to respond if I have a query. I have travelled and lived around the world for many years and I honestly wish I’d heard about them years ago, it would have saved me a lot of money and stress dealing with other companies.”

“Review is based on a number of different factors: Price: True Traveller was probably the cheapest out of the best insurances I could find. Comparing this to similair policies from other providers for the same policy period, True Traveller is significantly cheaper than other providers. Money saved = more money to spend on your trip. Cover: Keeping in mind the relatively cheap price point, the basic insurance offers more than sufficient cover on the most important elements I look for in an insurance policy, mainly Medical cover and Personal Liability. This being said, those looking for a more comprehensive policy would be better off with the more expensive packages (still cheaper than most of their competitors). My only disappointment in this area was the insufficient cover available for valuable belongings such as laptops and cameras. I ended up not choosing this option in the end as it was not worth while. User-friendliness: This is one of the things which made me choose True Traveller as my insurance provider. The website is carefully laid out and each policy line is explained carefully on the website, helping you understand better what you’re covered for under each policy. Understanding what you’re covered for can be a daunting task when you’ve never purchased travel insurance before; so this makes choosing True Traveller that much easier. One final note to consider is the fact that its available for most countries in the world. I cam across way too many insurance providers who only sell their products to customers in the UK, so this is also great for anyone outside the UK having trouble in finding an insurance for their travels.”
