True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Avevo questa assicurazione già da un anno, dato che mi hanno proposto il rinnovo con il 10% di sconto, ho colto l'occasione per rinnovare di un altro anno. Fortunatamente non ho mai avuto bisogno di usarla e quindi non posso giudicarli in merito a come si comportano in casi pratici. Al momento tutto ok. Mi riservo di modificare la votazione o di riconfermarla in futuro”

“Great value for money, the process is quick and easy, the policies are well presented and easy to understand, so you know what you are getting, there are lots of options so you can create your own policy that suits your needs and there are some great extra features, like starting your insurance when you're already on the road or when you only have a one way trip.”

“True Traveller is getting 5 stars as I am genuinely a very happy and satisfied customer. I first used this company when I went to Nepal last year. I rang several times their office and was always met with courteous, friendly and efficient True Traveller customer advisors. They had a wealth of knowledge to share with me about travelling, as all of them were travellers too ! My policy was tailor made and the price I paid was very reasonable. I was able to go trekking and explore different regions of the country. When I had to extend my stay it was very easy to extend my policy too, all on line. This year I used True Traveller again for my travel insurance, I don't think I'd go with anyone else now, they are my favourite travel partner ! (Don't tell my boyfriend !)”

“Excellent service, reliable and efficient signing up process on line. One of few conpanies who will actually insure you whilst travelling. The different packages are clear and I like that you can choose your own bolt ons! Any questions I have had has always been answered helpfully by the staff and given the current situation with the Coronavirus, their information and coverage is clear and transparent. Will use them whenever I travel!”

“True Traveller saved my adventure. I was in a pickle before I came across them. I'd set off on a trip to New Zealand via Australia and by the time I'd reached Australia, I knew I'd forgotten something.....travel insurance. With everything going on in the world at the moment, I was beginning to stress and not enjoy being abroad at all because of it. I was recommended True Traveller by a friend and after being given a very reasonable quote by them, very quickly too, I soon found that I had a secure travel insurance policy almost instantly. Which means I have the comfort of knowing I'm covered now no matter what this adventure will throw at me and I have the added security of knowing help is at hand when I need it. In a nutshell, would highly recommend.”

“Have used them several times for year long trips abroad, they are easy to use, have reasonable rates for pre-existing medical conditions and a great range of sport add ons! I injured myself skiing badly and had a long recovery, they were easy to claim through and paid for the expensive things upfront, even covered me for a series of needed physio sessions. Overall a great choice for travel insurance!”

“The quote and booking process was so smooth and easy. All the information you need to identify which package is most suitable for you is to hand and clearly outlined. The ability to then add elements such as flight disruption cover, baggage, documents and money onto a policy is really easy. Each time you add or remove something from tour bespoke policy the price is automatically updated so you can see how much your policy is overall. There are no hidden costs and you get sent confirmation of your insurance straight away. Truetraveller was the best quote I had for covering me on my trek to Everest Bace Camp.”

“I looked for Travel Insurance once I discovered that as a working holiday maker I was not covered by public healthcare in Australia. True Traveller was the one insurance I found that made it easy to get covered once your trip had already started. The online subscription procedure is very straight forward and user friendly. All fees and coverage is very clear, and instructions on how to contact them in case of emergency are very accesible. I am very pleased with True Traveller.”
