When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“The experience of booking extended travel insurance through True Traveller could not be easier. The website is easy to use, and you have a clear view of the precise nature of the cover you are buying. The inclusion of a pre-approved list of medical conditions is also very helpful. For people who live on the road, or who choose travel as a lifestyle, it's important to have that sense of security, to know that it is easy to get the cover you need, and True Traveller give that. There's no better choice.”

“I used true traveller when backpacking Australia, they were very helpful with what cover I would need for all the activities I wanted to do and what cover would suit my work in the medical industry. I am very happy and they were super helpful when I made my claim and I had my money back in no time! I recommend them to everyone who I’ve influenced into travelling with my adventures and have even just brought more cover from them for my second year in Australia!”

“I have had TT insurance for over 3 years and I love how clear their website is and their good customer service if you do have to speak to them about anything. I like that you can extend your policy for over 1 year (really easily) if you keep on being abroad. I have never had to claim and hope I never will but it's good to know that I have the policy just in case. It's also very reasonably priced insurance.”

Hi there Thanks for your review. We did check with our claims service, CEGA, why your claim took a long time, as they have a 10 day limit to settle all claims, unless they're very complex or the customer doesn't provide evidence. You made one claim, and one claim is being processed right now. Both are well within the 10 days, but your first claim was delayed a little as you provided incorrect bank details for reimbursement. Also remember, if you ever think you are not being treated fairly by the claims service or they're being too slow, always just get in touch with TT. The True Traveller

“I am very impressed and pleased with TrueTraveller insurance and their staff, in particular Scott Martin and Elysia Baines. I took the insurance at the start of the year to cover my travels in Turkey. During this time there was the Corona outbreak and my partner (who is French) and I decided to come to France to stay with his family during the confinement. Unexpectedly during this time I needed emergency surgery (not related to the Corona virus). It was a very difficult and emotional time. Elysia and Scott were incredible. They dealt with my case quickly and efficiently. They were very sympathetic and always sent good wishes for my health. They took care of my payments promptly and dealt with the hospital directly, always ensuring me that I had nothing to worry about and that everything was being taken care of. It was such a relief to not have any added stress during such a difficult time. I highly recommend this travel insurance company and I will continue to use them. I have extended my policy twice since. Thank you so much again.”

“It was easy to understand the website. My screen froze when it came time to book. I used the chat facility instead. I had problems with the ‘something to declare’ section: my original policy did not charge me extra, but the extension (all details EXACTLY the same) charged me an extra fee. This makes me unsure about the knowledge of the people I spoke to - one of them must have been wrong, but which one? Was it the original person, or the second person who spoke to me regarding the extension?”

“We had a LOT of questions before buying (which were actually already covered in the FAQ, we found out later) so rang up TT. Really quick answering, really helpful guy on the phone. They are attentive and flexible and does genuinely feel like I’m speaking to someone that cares about travelling and having the best experience, rather than someone just trying to sell me any old insurance. Would 100% recommend.”
