When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Excellent service. I made an error on my policy and although a little disconcerted when I rang and was told I needed to email, the issue was sorted within a few hours of the email being sent. I can only hope the aftersales service as as good.”

Hi there Thanks for your review. Yes, I regret for material changes to policies, we do need instructions in writing so we have an audit trail. But any email to TT which is received before 6PM London time, 365 days a year, is replied to on the same day. The True Traveller Team

“I'm delighted to have found an insurance policy suited to the reality of cross country skiing as distinct to down hill skiing. In addition EU residents can purchase cover. I hope never to have need to make a claim.”

“Bought cover for a 4 day trip. I then wanted to add two more days to the cover and ended yp paying a larger amount, HOWEVER, TT contacted me and advised this was not the cheapest way to do it, and organised it so I only had to pay and extra £4.50 instead of £28. Very happy with the support I received, and I would use this Insurance again for my next hiking trip to France.”

“I'm a digital nomad, so I spend more time abroad than locally, which is why it was important for me to get the best and most affordable insurance possible. In terms of service, costs and coverage - top notch. I read their entire policy conditions, and they are significantly better than the competitors, and at equal costs. I called the service center, and they answered in a few minutes. I asked the rep pretty in-depth questions for almost 30 minutes, and she helped with everything. Haven't tried making a suit, but from other people on FB they are quite reliable. Anyway, from what I experienced so far - really the best I've seen.”

“I have been travelling almost constantly since 2015 (except for during the pandemic!) and have always used True Traveller. I chose them initially because the price was competitive, it was a UK company and they cover all the activities that I wanted to do, more extensively then other companies. During this time I have made one claim due to a family bereavement. TT was quick and efficient at reimbursing flights home from SE Asia. It was a great reassurance at an upsetting and stressful time. Each time that my circumstances have changed or I need to clarify something with the company, I find they are a pleasure to deal with - either over the phone or on live chat. I also like that I receive a discount when renewing the policy. Having True Traveller insurance makes a difference to my peace of mind while travelling. I am happy to have just renewed for another year. Thank you to all the team for your hard work in offering such a high quality product and supporting it with excellent customer service.”
