When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“EXTREEMLY easy to set up and get a policy! i do a lot of extreme sports when i am traveling around canada and its nice to know i have super quick and easy support at a moments notice. I had the unfortunate experience of getting a concussion from kayaking on my last trip and with with only a couple of really simple emails and 2 phone calls i was reimbursed the hospital fees in a very professional and fast manner! highly recommend”

“When my travel insurance cover ran out and i was still travelling ,.. and my insurance company would not help me extend my cover .... and i had 2 weeks of hard Solo travel left in madagascar before completing my trip .... i turned to truetraveller insurance. Quickly and simply they provided me with travel insurance while i was already on the road without fuss and giving me full peace of mind.”

“Don’t agree with being asked for a review ahead of using the product. At this stage -having just bought it, I can only rate the purchase process. The website is excellent although in the unlikely event that you access the internet through a corporate connection based in another country, you can’t effect payment without phoning in or chatting online. It’s clever security to avoid invalidating a policy but I wished there were a simpler way to overcome. If Ihave to use the policy during the trip, I will be able to offer an honest opinion of the product, not just the sales process.”

“I purchased a Traveller insurance policy for my Canadian work permit through True Traveller. So far I haven't needed to use the insurance (touch wood) but purchasing the plan was really easy due to the options and explanations offered on the website. The policies can be customised to suit your requirements (e.g. excess options, activity packs, winter sports) which was really useful. The validation certificate was sent via email as soon as I purchased the policy, so I could print it off ready for inspection in Canada. The terms and conditions of the policy are clear and explain exactly how to make a claim if needed. I would definitely recommend True Traveller for anyone participating in IEC (International Experience Canada) as it provides medical care, hospitalisation, and reparation.”

“This is the third time I have had a working holiday and insured by Truetraveller They always suit my needs due to having a straight forward website and plenty of options. One of these are that if your already travelling and haven't been back in your home country for some time they have an option for that! They are fair priced and included different options for the different experiences you have”

“Really easy to set up 12 months European travel insurance online and at a reasonable price. We used True Traveller on a 7 month trip around South America a couple of years ago and had to make a claim for emergency dental treatment. The service was excellent then and we're confident it will be if we need it again.”

“I have been covered by TrueTraveller for the last 12 months and recently extended my policy. When I first booked my travel insurance, I was impressed by the TrueTraveller website - it’s very user-friendly, clear and informative. Each item included in the policy is explained in detail on the main page, rather than having to trawl through a policy handbook! The Policy documents came through immediately via email and were easy to understand. I have had to make one claim, which hasn’t yet been fully sorted out so I cannot yet rate the entire process - however, I found the claims website a little slow and it’s not very user/mobile-friendly. The Accident Questionnaire they required me to fill out was also unavailable to download for a while, which slowed the application process. When I contacted the claims company directly by phone, they were swift and helpful although it’s a shame they don’t have a 24h contact line (check UK office hours before calling). I have just renewed my policy for a another few months and was impressed by the discount I got on the overall price - I booked before my current policy expired! It was just as easy to extend and it was great to be able to again choose what benefits/activities I needed to be covered (as my needs are different to last year). Overall, a very good experience with TrueTraveller and I would recommend them for the overall ease of use.”
