True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“I think that it is excellent, you have options to add medical conditions ( which is eventually covered if something happend ). And add some extras bonuses when you allready have policy. I would recomended to everyone who is scared due medical reasons.”

“Having been traveling so the last two years myself and partner had run out of cover. Cover from our home country Ireland was impossible to get despite the fact that we will be departing on our next trip from Dublin. Panic was starting to set in that we wouldn’t be able to get cover. The only thing that would be good is if you could see the policy premium in other currency's but’s a very minor thing ☺️ Thank you guys”

“When I moved to NZ last minute I had run out of insurance. I was pretty worried that I wasn't going to find good cover being that I was out of the UK already. When my partner showed me True Traveller I was so relieved. I got a really reasonable price for the Traveller package which is going to cover me for so many important things like accidents, flights etc. The website it no-nonsense and I think I even paid for my insurance within 5 minutes. Very happy :)”

“We're at the beginning of being on the road for a few years, travelling through India, Vietnam, Nepal, Malaysia & Indonesia. “I have only just taken out the insurance so haven’t had to claim and can’t comment on that process. But the layout of the policies and information provided is much easier to understand than other providers. There is good inclusion in the standard / mid-range policies.”

“I heard a lot of good references about True traveller so I decided to try it. It was really easy to set up the right insurance I want to. Everything was clear and simple, the price is very good considering the level of insurance coverage. I didn't have any insurance claim yet. Edit: Due to the current circumstances (ban to entry USA and Canada, canceled flight) I applied for canceling my travel insurance. Reaction came a few hours later - they refund my money. If I will ever need any insurance in the future, I will certainly use True Traveller services. And I will recommend it wherever I go. Thanks for your attitude”

“True Traveller have been a pleasure to purchase insurance through. Rates are competitive, service excellent and coverage options are well varied. Extending my insurance literally took 5 minutes, being able to purchase in country of travel is very handy also. I couldn’t recommend this company more. Stay safe!”

“Excellent options for adventure/extreme sport cover at resort able prices. Easy to use website with clear options. Would be 5 stars but some technical glitches with mobile site meant had to fill in details a few times. Let's hope if need to claim assistance is as good as the purchase experience”

“One more time I selected True Traveller over other companies - super simple to book and easy to find scope of things covered and not covered, which usually is a hassle with other providers and you have to go through pages of small print. Fortunately I did not have to claim anything this time but previous claims (minor though) were refunded very quickly and with no problems.”

“Fantastic customer service. I had a few dificulteis on completing the application. I got in touch with the Live chat team who immediately replayed to my query. The advisor was very polite and efficient. He then guided me step by step on what needed to be done in order for me to complete the process. The full conversation was then emailed to me, which made things that much easier and safer. Right away I new made the right decision going with True Traveller and that I would receive the right support throughout my travels.”
