True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Easy and clear to take out, and much better value than other policies I looked into. Also great that’s it’s easy to renew whilst I’m still travelling. I had some issues getting a small claim paid into my non-English account, so it took longer than it should have, but it was all sorted in the end.”

“We have been travelling abroad camping, cycling and climbing for the last 30+ years and have bought insurance from a number of different companies. Following a recommendation from friends we looked into True Traveller. They were very competitively priced and offered a wide array of packages to choose from. The website was easy to use and the customer advisors were helpful and knowledgeable. Having never had to make a claim before, this year we had a bad accident requiring helicopter rescue and hospitalisation. The advisors helped get everything sorted and us home for which we are very grateful. The insurance definitely did what we bought it to do. In our experience, True Traveller is more flexible than comparable companies. For example, we recently extended our cover whilst in the middle of a trip. We wholeheartedly recommend True Traveller as we would have encountered serious financial and logistical difficulties if we had not had their support after our accident. “A brilliantly simple and easy to use website, a great selection of services to suit your travel requirements, a comprehensive list of ailments that you don't have to worry about even in advanced years until finally arriving at a great price. Hopefully, I never have to find out what their after-sales service is like but it's great to have peace of mind.”

“So far so good, although I haven't made a claim yet. I have just bought a policy that'll last me 18 months. I'm travelling through multiple countries and True Traveller offered a good looking policy to suit my needs. Excellent customer service. Prompt and polite. I had many questions which were answered hastily and thouroughly via call and email. Would recommend.”

“I was away for longer than the regular time period when my previous annual multi-trip insurance ran out. To my dismay, I found that most companies wouldn't insure me for a longer trip or cover me for buying insurance whilst already away. I did some research and read some blogs by independent travellers/digital nomads where True Traveller and a few other companies were recommended. I chose True Traveller as it was highly recommended and the page was easy to navigate. I wasn't disappointed and the documents came through clearly and quickly with help on hand if ever needed. I would not hesitate to book through True Traveller again, a trustworthy insurer for the long-stay traveller / digital nomad!!”

“Its the easiest travel insurance to arrange, you can tailor it to your specific travel requirements...easy, simple and fast! The friendly staff are experienced and answer any questions or concerns you may have, they can compile the insurance quote for you or you can complete it yourself - it is so easy, simply answer a few questions about your travel plans to get your initial insurance cover, then add on any additional items you want to have included to cater for your specific travel needs, that's it!.... “Looking for insurance whilst already travelling, I had fewer options. True Traveller not only provided this type of insurance - brilliant - but policy information was clear and straightforward, the quote competitive and the advice reassuring. Tired travelling brain and dodgy wi-fi meant I didn't initially purchase a particular option as I had intended but I contacted TT directly, was replied to very swiftly and was allowed to add it to my policy after the fact. The service and the insurance itself means I will look to TT for cover now before I head off again! Thank you!”
