When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Travel insurance was easy to book online. One of the only few companies that allow booking of travel insurance when already abroad. Very helpful and provides peace of mind. Lots of customisable options so you only pay for what you need. Unfortunately the policies are quite expensive when you have pre-existing medical conditions. Wish there were more affordable options for this. I can’t comment on the claims process.”

“I am a long term traveller and no matter where in the world I am, I always use true traveller health insurance for there reasons: - I regularly travel with a one way ticket and TT covers you for this - I'm a little disorganised so someone's I don't remember to book insurance until I'm already travelling and TT covers you for this too - very simple to work out the a dditions or add ons and what's covered - my sister got really sick with e. Coli when we where in Thailand and TT covered all expenses including the stay she needed in hospital, medications, and the doctors and nurses with no problems - support easy to use website”

“I have been travelling over 2 years until now, and all this time I have been using True Traveller travel insurance. I have been renewing it many times during this period as seems my travelling got longer and longer which was not planned in the beginning. And I must say it is very easy to renew it online and it takes just couple of minutes. Besides its on of the few insurance companies in Europe which you could take out insurance for such a long time. And that is just perfect for me. As well I have been travelling in different continents during the last years, and with True Traveller i always could choose the suitable cover area ( worldwide, Europe, Asia etc.). Luckily i never had very serious accidents during the travelling, but each time if I needed some information and support from insurance company I have received it. Besides I have made some medical claims, and never had problems to get insurance company to cover the costs. It have been easy and pretty straightforward to make a claims. And the True Travelling team have been helpful all the time.”

“I had trouble finding an insurance that would fit my needs as a backpacker traveling long-term, but True Traveller seemed like a perfect fit. I could modify it so it covers everything I need and I can juts contact them and add more covers if needed. Sweet!”

“Found myself stuck abroad with expired insurance- found a link to these guys in an online article. So easy to buy the policy with a series of straight forward yes/no answers to questions. Upfront list of pre-accepted medical conditions to check against. I bought the policy because I was stuck, but I’ll go straight to them now for any future travel insurance.”

“Whilst travelling Australia, I had dropped my phone in water & I had my phone fixed whilst I was there. I claimed on the insurance with ease and recieved money into my bank account within a couple of weeks. I would recommend using truetraveller”

“Very easy to apply, even when already traveling. My gf had some issues and had to go to the hospital. She called the insurance company, explained the situation and later never even saw a bill. All was handled directly between the hospital and true traveler.”

“All easy and we like that there’s an option to cover walking up to 4600m. Many other companies stop at 4000m. The website is difficult to use on your phone. It requires you to turn the screen sideways, which makes everything fiddly.”
